Draw AP Div & amp; external CSS file?

Whenever I draw a new AP div in Design view, it sends the new CSS information to my main source code. Anyway set up Dreamweaver so the new CSS created when you draw an AP div goes straight to the external CSS file?

Thank you!

John

P.S. It's version cs4 DreamWeaver

Well, that's like asking-

Why do you use divs PA at all?

In any case, as I know there is no way to direct the CSS created by that
operation in an external style sheet. DW makes it quite easy to do
After the fact, however, using MOVE CSS accessible from the
the toolbar in code.

  • Load the external CSS file

    I asked this question before and it was answered by some major contributors on this forum, but I have to admit that, even if it worked once, it doesn't seem to work now. I use Edge animate CC 2014 that might be the problem.

    I am given to understand that if you use this little button "c" to declare a block of text in a paragraph (see screenshot below)

    sometext.jpg

    then the style rule that you write to the file html produced by Edge when you publish, should work on all 'p' designated text blocks (as directed by the screenshot below)

    But it doesn't work.

    I tried every combination I can think of and looked everywhere on the web by Lynda.com and in this forum, but no luck. I'm certainly not the only person on Earth who wants to change the blocks of text with an external css file.

    I know that I'm trying the patience of you smart people out there, but I need to have my answers in simple terms, without forgetting anything. You can't underestimate my ability to make mistakes.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hello

    You can change your css as follows properties externally or internally:

    (1) on the outside.

    You create a css file and add this line of code in your html page:

    p {color: red} contains a myFile.css and this file is located in the folder called "css".

    (2) internally.

    The user interface offers you 2 buttons: management tags, another course of management.

    (a) the button tags.

    You change the html tag using the right key. I mean the switch before the c button.

    You choose the paragraph tag: p., then you open the creationComplete Panel and you script: sym.$("p").css ("color", "red");

    (b) the classes of button.

    If you use the c key to a single class. For example, you write the word in blue.

    You will be the script in the creationComplete Panel: sym. $(". Blue"). CSS ("Color", "Blue");

    Now, looking at your page html (your second photo).

    I navigate on this page looking for the tag (p)

    ...

    ).

    When I arrived the last tag (), I have not found any p tag. So, nothing happens.

    I wouldn't be able to create a separate CSS file in Dreamweaver and fix it right?

    Thank you

    Although Edge host does not support importing style sheets, you can create a style sheet and include it in the HTML file.

    Until and unless your set some style in the tool, the styles defined in the style sheet appear. Set of styles in the tool of an element in the tool resumes these style styles sheet as former inserted as an inline style.

    Hello

    If your 'EDGE-122837820' composition must be linked to an external css file.

    You open the compositionReady Panel to add and adapt this line of code:

  • How can I convert an external CSS to all be defined in the page?

    I need to move all CSS must be defined in the page's head.  Is there an easy way to do it with the PCOC?

    In the external file, press Ctrl + A to select all, then Ctrl + C to copy it to the Clipboard. Add a tagset to yoursection and press Ctrl + P to stick together. I know DW can outsource the css code, but I don't think that there is a function to go the other way.

    In General, it is much better to use an external css file rather than using css well integrated. Is there a particular reason you want to move it?

    An external CSS file must be written in CSS only (no html tag like,,etc.).

  • Create the CSS file

    Hello

    I created a new Web site using the Dreamweaver CS3. In the header, it shows all the css code. Here's the beginning:

    < style type = "text/css" >
    <!--
    {body
    Police: 100% Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, without serif.
    Background: #666666;
    margin: 0; / * It is advisable to zero, the margin and the filling of the body to hold element has a different default browser * /.
    padding: 0;
    text-align: center; / * This centers the container in IE 5 * browsers. The text is then set left aligned by default in the #container selector * /.
    Color: #000000;
    background-color: #c0c0c0;
    }

    How can I change all the style code is in a file .js instead, and then I can reference the .js file in the header? Or is there a better way to do it?

    Thanks in advance.

    MonaE

    Hello

    Highlight the code in the - .

    The main menu is the top dreamweaver menu (file, edit, view, insert, etc...) When you have highlighted your select code 'Format' in the main menu, submenu, select "CSS Styles" in the submenu next, select "move css rules. This will open a dialog box select 'new style sheet' click on 'O/K', this will then open save lead Panel, select the folder you want the css file to create in and type a name for the file, select Save.

    This removes the css of your html file and insert a link to the new external css file in yourcode.

  • Insert a div for a single document case back only when using external CSS stylesheet.

    I'm trying to set a background image in one of my div boxes, but because I am using an external stylesheet it changes it in all my documents. How can you do with just this one page? Preferably in design mode.

    What I was doing to slove this problem was:

    • Open my external CSS stylesheet
    • Copy the contents of this
    • Remove the CSS link in a page, that I wanted to be different.
    • Paste the content in thein the rest of the page CSS rules.

    Then I could put a background in this box without affecting other pages...

    I tried the other suggestions, but could not get to work. Don't say that they are wrong, but maybe I was wrong implementation does not.

As I rear tab through my site and return to this page, he refuses to read it again.

    All other pages on the site have no problem with the same CSS file.

    I erased all the internet temporary files, cookies settings an so on, rebooted and I still have the same problem.

    on my server, I deleted the CSS drop a downloaded it yet again, I deleted and re-uploaded the page problem. I even renamed the page and the problem still persists.

  • CSS files/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/shared / is not updated

    Hello

    I created a portal with 11.1.1.7.0 application, I run this app with built-in server, I changed the server built-in to 10.3.6 instead of the original 10.3.5 as this blog "The Incident Archive: Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6 Server integrated upgrade to 10.3.6'." " I saved the CSS for the page template in the folder/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/shared/pagetemplates/css, as 'Oracle WebCenter training portal online', 'creation and use of the Page templates in portal Oracle WebCenter Applications'. However, after I've updated the CSS files and redeploy the application. I found that the application was still using the old CSS files. If I save the CSS files in other folders (< root app > / css), it works fine. I tried to clean up the temporary files of built-in server, also clean the SDM like this "Java ADF Webcenter UCM Weblogic SOA: ADF: clean your drs, mds using the Script file'." " It does not work. No idea how I can do with that? Thank you.

    Hi Timmy.

    "I created a portal with 11.1.1.7.0 application.

    I think you mean you use JDeveloper 11.1.1.7, but how WebCenter version 11.1.1.7 or 11.1.1.8? Since 11.1.1.8 Oracle does not recommend using the / shared folder external CSS, Images or JS.

    The second thing is on the CSS (not the skin) external storage in an SDM, path is not a good practice.

    Regarding your question:

    Take a look at the packaging of the . EAR on the files inside. Inside should be a file called AutoGenerated.mar with your portal resources. Using WinRAR or another program study that the CSS is changed. Is maybe a problem of cache of your browser.

    In addition, take a look at the web.xml file setting:

    org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.CHECK_FILE_MODIFICATION
    true

    During the development of tour to true to instruct the server to check on changes to files in the case of iterative development is disabled.

    When deploying in production environments, that it must return again to fake

    My recommendation is:

    • Put your static files (no portals resources) outside the MDS (oracle/webcenter/portalapp...)
    • With iterative development you don't have to reboot or redeploy the application when changing CSS, JS, page templates...

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards.

    DW6 using (version 12, ownership, build 5861) on Windows 7 64 bit.

    After the tutorials and help files to use the grid to fluid.

    1. Launch a blank page on a new site, which inserts the div of starter and the new css file
    2. Immediately save page which also generates / saves auxiliary files (js and css).
    3. Remove inner div that is created in order to use my own (tried also leaving room for a default value and use)
    4. Insert the new div within the div 'clearfix gridContainer.
    5. Place the cursor just after this new div, always inside the "gridContainer clearfix" and add a new 'fluid grid layout div tag', new line.
    6. Following the same method, do it again.
    7. Dreamweaver adds the CSS code generated to the actual page instead of the expected div visibly (minified)... and everything breaks. To do this, * not * add the code in the CSS file from there and the only way to have it show the div (which show no visual indicators since the CSS is essentially lost who would do it, CTRL-Z to undo the last step. It cancels the CSS presentation as the only content in the HTML file, and * is * display a div with the name I had given him. If I copy and paste this CSS generated in the fluid css file * so * CTRL-Z, he looks at the way she's supposed to, with drag handles, visible fingerprints and so on.
    8. If I then change div widths or position, it saves these changes in the CSS file, it seems that it is only when inserting new div tags after another is a problem third div inside the container is when it starts choking; no overlap).

    It is repeatable, desktop or laptop, running the same version. I tried to save after each insert div, only at the beginning, only rescue code view, split only...

    I tried looking for someone else having this problem and must not be worded research properly, impossible to find someone else saw it. It's weird.

    If someone can point me to something to try then workaround is not necessary, it would be appreciated.

    Work within a Site defined properly?

    Is the folder of your site in the disk/volume even as DW?
