Drawing Markup tools

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro and have lost the ability to use 3 tools in the ANNOTATIONS of the canvas.  Cloud, polygon and line connected are all grayed out.  I can use the other 8.

Hi Mike,.

This touchscreen laptop is capable?

If this is not the case, check if you have the Touch preference in Adobe Acrobat active XI.  If you, then turn off.

Let me know if the problem persists.

Kind regards

Nicos

  • Drawing Markup tools are still not selected

I recently switched from Acrobat 9 Pro to Acrobat X and I'm having a little trouble understanding the new interface.

A problem is that when I used a drawing markup tool in Acrobat 9, it would remain to chosen so that I could draw lines in a number of places to stay.  With Acrobat X, whenever I draw a line the tool becomes selected, and I have to select all again in order to draw the next line.  I have to do something wrong.  A company as well as Adobe would not have designed such a difficult to use the tool.

Can someone tell me how to keep the chosen drawing tools?

Right, that is why he must then select the tool drawing that you want to use, as shown. It should appear after you do.

Or you can select the drawing tool that you want to use, press Ctrl + E, and you should see the checkbox in the properties toolbar.

  • I'm not able to select the cloud, polygons and drawing markup tools lines connected to this end.

I recently installed Adobe Pro XI. I can't select the cloud, polygons and lines connected markup drawing tools. I can see them, but they are greyed out so I am not able to choose them.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit on an Asus ZenBook laptop.

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Kind regards

  • Annotations and drawing markup tools overview

This question has been posted in response to the following article: http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/Acrobat/Pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7e7f.w.h tml

Apart from the stamps (which can be defined and stored using the stamp tool menu) you re-use not markup and comments - they are created for each file as required using standard tools. Although you can copy and paste a comment from a file to another it causes problems with the comment of the metadata (author, time, etc.) so it's not something to recommend.

  • Markup tools problem

I'm using the markup tools (arrows, lines, etc.) to mark up a pdf document and I am not able to draw the arrow (or line) where I would.  It's almost like the pointer snaps to arrowhead at one point an invisible grid.  Then when I draw the arrow endpoint, it does the same thing - if triggers the end of a point invisible grid.  It is the source of the problems because I need to be able to point at a particular point in the pdf file.

Does anyone know an adjustment that will allow me to draw my annotations in more than one free form?  Do I have to turn off a setting? I encounter the same problem when I go to move the arrow line (or text box) - it only allows me to place the markup to grid points.

    I use Acrobat 7.0 Pro

    Turn off snap-to-grid under notice.

  • Missing text again markup tool

Do you have Adobe take the only markup tool that matters... once again?

On a production machine I left accidentally updated, I have a bunch of text markup tools:

Screen Shot 2016-09-15 at 5.32.15 PM.png(Acrobat Pro DC screenshot)

    But one glaring omission:

Screen Shot 2016-09-15 at 5.10.17 PM.png(screenshot of my main machine running Acrobat XI and no other updates last CC 11.3 because of this God awful UI update)

This tool T-with-a-star is the text markup tool running separate insert, replace and delete everything into one effective tool. Why do others even exist? Why anyone would switch among three tools when there is one that does it all? This tool was fine for years at least from Acrobat 8 when my company started moving to a digital workflow. It was also fine in Acrobat 9, although there seemed little reason to spend 8. She was mysteriously deleted from Acrobat X, so I set up a stench and downgraded all my editors of page 9. When XI came out, I decided that was OK for my own use, but most of my editors still prefer to use Acrobat 9, so I don't argue. However, new users have found that they can not get Acrobat 9 for installation on newer operating systems and are forced to use Acrobat DC. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the annotation tools are now available in Acrobat Reader free DC, so it is definitely a bonus! But where is a tool that we absolutely need? I swear I remember seeing this complete tool when I started to recommend it to the users to upgrade, but now I just sat on a machine with Acrobat DC and all I see are these 3 limited tools.

Is that what this master tool removed from new versions of Acrobat DC by some update? It's hiding somewhere? Or am I remembering wrong and it was never really there in Acrobat DC? I checked the full version and the version of the player, and what I see are boring, tedious markup tools, separated.

For anyone else looking for this tool, there is no, this isn't just in fact an annotation tool more. Instead of using all the tools of individual text for your markup of text markup, simply use the selection tool (Yes, the arrow plain ol ') to your annotations.

If you select some text and click on remove, it will be marked for deletion.

If you select the text and start typing, it will be marked as a replacement.

If you simply click on a spot and start typing, it will be marked as an insert to this place.

In addition to being just generally not clear, there are a few other confused pieces:

    • Even if the selection tool doesn't do not part of the annotation tools, you can not use if intended for that purpose until you open the comment tools Panel, so you still expect these boring 4 seconds of blocking that never existed in previous versions.
    • You can not again double-click to select a word for a comment to replace. You click and drag, otherwise the word is just marked for deletion. This bug has been around for a while. Curiously, you pouvez triple-click to select a line and replacement, which I think is a turning on the bug.

Is it possible to rotate a drawing markup comment?

Some will allow reversal, but must only allow you to rotate using the handles.

  • No active drawing markup functions

several of my drawing markup icons aren't active and I have the monthly subscription for Adobe Acrobat Pro XI through the creative cloud app.  Someone knows how to turn on these features (it's clouding characteristic, surface and line drawing)

    That should say:

Edit > Preferences > General > Touch Mode > never

  • Drawing markup and annotation using the reader with PDF Commenting-Enabled files

Recently I bought Acrobat Standard to produce posts PDF files for my employees who use Acrobat Reader.

The page linked below says I can use Acrobat Standard 'that Manage shared reviews, collection of all of your comments in a single PDF and leaving reviewers inspire each comments‡.

    Adobe Acrobat XI

I have used these features in the past with Acrobat Pro, but there is any documentation that refers to what seems to be limits.  For example, using Acrobat Standard I can send a PDF for email review, but the only tools that my staff can use with player are the sticky notes and highlighter.  In the past, when I've used Pro, all markup capabilities, including drawing and annotations as bar suite markup were available.

I searched everywhere for more information about the activation of these other annotation tools, but find nothing.  Am I missing something or is this a few misleading ads that led me astray.

You must either upgrade to Acrobat Pro or users must upgrade to

Reader XI, where all the annotation tools are available by default.

  • Missing on my iphone 6s markup tool

The markup & Replay (case) tool is missing from my iPhone 6.  I very deeply rely on this tool.  I work outside the United States, and it is very difficult to find a fax.

When you open a PDF file in the mail app, tap on the file open, then the markup Toolbox must be in the lower right. If you don't see it, close the mail application and force restart your phone.

To close the messaging application, press the Home button twice quickly. You will see small glimpses of your applications recently used. Drag to the left to find the application you want to close. Swipe up on the preview of the application to close.

To force the reboot your device, press and hold the two buttons of sleep/wake and home for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

  • Drawing of tools disabled

Some drawing tools are grayed out and I can't use them. I have used this several times in the past.  How can I get the tools so I can reuse them?

You should probably just disable the touch mode. There is a toolbar for this button, or you can select the preference of the user: Edit > preferences > General > Mode Touch > never

  • Using the markup tools (underscore, nail, etc.)

When I stress, stress, etc text using the layout to highlight text, underline, etc., highlighting tool extends underneath text. It touches even the line right below it, making it difficult to highlight the text in the next line.

All these tools work with text, regardless of their Visual representation. A highlight "painted" the entire area of the text while an underline only draws a line below, but they are all based on the coordinates of the selected text. When you run OCR these coordinates do not always match 100% with those in the text that you see on the page, where the problems you are experiencing.

  • Markup tool

Until a few days ago, when I used the 'comment & markup, rectangle tool"I could make the blue box, right click, click Properties, and then change the 2 colors to white. It would be like the use of white. So I would be able to print/mail electronics/save/fax the doc with the text I've covered removed. Now, when I do, it covers it upwards on the screen and when I save it, but if I try to print/text/fax of the original or record it, he showed the text behind the 'white-out '. I checked the settings, that I could find and put in correspondence with my other computer, but still no luck, all parameters are the same.

What I clicked on who made this change? How should I do? Thanks in advance for any help!

In the print dialog box, check "Document and markup" option is selected from the comments and forms menu drop-down.

If above the thing does not work for you, use the redaction (component tools > Protection > mark for the redaction, and then apply the redaction)

  • How to make the "sticky" markup tools

It seems that in earlier versions of acrobat, you can select the tool 'line' and it would REMAIN selected until it you deselected. I can't find this option in XI?

I meant the tools in the comment Panel, not in the toolbar.
