Drop-down list Hotspot based on another topic

I would like to create a Hotspot of drop-down list that automatically displays the content to another HTML file.

Is this possible?

This would be similar to a pop-up auto size except that the content of the HTML code fell in the page parent rather than displayed in a pop-up window.

Thank you

Amber is on site. To do this use an inline frame.

See you soon... Rick

  • Count the number of drop-down list items based on the selection

    You will need to get an "account" (in the fields of totals at the bottom) of each of the values/items selected in the drop-down "ddClassification". My drop-down fields are labeled ' ddClassification.0, ddClassification.1... etc.

    Should a loop be involved? Been looking around for the answers but can't really find anything. The values in the drop-down list 'ddClassification' are 'Choose', 'Major', 'Minor', 'OBS', 'OFI '. If I could just get help on one of the "total" fields (for example perhaps the total large field) first then I could go from there. All THE HELP is APPRECIATED! Thank you!

    I have attached a screenshot and here is the link for the form: Dropbox - ASSESSMENT_NOTES.pdf

    Yes, this requires a loop. Here's the Basic code structure, which you can use for the total key, for example:

    var total = 0;
    for (var i=0; i<=4; i++) {
        if (this.getField("ddClassification."+i).value==4) {
            total++;
        }
    }
    event.value = total;

    Place this code in the script to custom calculation of 'txtMajor '.

    Edit: Name of the field max adjusted from 5 to 4...

    Edit #2: Also adjusted the value of "Major" in the value of exports 4...

    I figured out how to make it work. I just had to add parentheses in the right places to make it work. Here's what I did:

  • Drop-down list value depends on another drop-down list

    I placed a variable script from another file. Original file works well, but my file created does not work.

    https://Acrobat.com/#d=Nla8o4s5FUP8Qp0cl-hAHg

    Can't we do where I made a mistake. How can I solve it?

    Give a propername subform Page1 in the hierarchy (for example, page 1). Currently, the default name is used (#Subform [0]).

    Replace references to the script object for the given name in the hierarchy.

    That should solve your problem.

    Thank you

  • Is this possible? Subforms appeal based on the drop-down list associated with the database

    I'm hoping to make a dynamic shape and I wonder if it's possible.

    I have a database with about 300 entries - pieces of agricultural goods and a few little bits of info on each of these properties. I want to create a form where users can choose the piece there rather than the property in a drop-down list. Based on the property they select, another menu drop down to fill with the cultures associated with this property. Then based on the selection made in this drop-down list, a specific form will be brought upward.

    For example, a person selects property #102 in the drop-down list. In the database, property #102 is associated with wheat, barley and corn, so the next drop would be complete with these three cultures. The user selects the wheat in the drop-down list and the form of wheat would be called.

    I hope I explained that well enough.

    Is this possible? And if it's possible, how complicated to do? Assuming that I already have the database and subforms, it would be a long process from weeks to the script, or it would be simple enough?

    Yes, this could be done, here is an example that should help: Drop dependent dropdown (specimen attached)

    On the basis of selection (change event of the second menu drop-down), you can show or hide a subform.

  • Please help a poor beginner to open a text box based on a drop-down list

    Hello world

    I am quite new to the life cycle and my experience isn't in the lineup, so I hope that you will be kind to me. I designed a form that we use to send to our Bank to hire contractors. I need to make a text field become visible collection of some inscriptions on the drop-down list. for example, if an entry in the drop-down list "Holiday", I need another text field become visible to the user of maunally enter an extension number. If the user selects, say, "Study leave", I need the text box to stay invisible to the user.

    I hope this makes sense.

    Thank you guys & Gal

    Heavy E

    It is a java script placed on the drop-down list on the change event;

    If (xfa.event.newText is "Vacancy")
    TextField1.presence = "visible";

    else TextField1.presence = "hidden";

    Field1 text is defined as hidden

    To answer your second example, add in the same field:

    If (xfa.event.newText is ' Study/leave')
    TextField1.presence = "hidden";

  • Populate drop-down list with the results of several drop-down lists

    Hi, I am creating a form where the results of two drop-down lists then would fill another drop-down list. I'm not new to javascript, but I'm new to using it in Acrobat, so while I found some answers to this: Drop-down list fill in multiple fields of text. I don't know where to implement this, if it is still the right thing, I'm looking for pipes for

    Oh and I use Acrobat Pro DC. Any help would be much appreciated!

    OK, you can create a function at the level of the document that is called in the Validate event of each of the two first drop down menus, something like:

    Function in JavaScript to the document level

    function updateDropdown() {}

    Get references to the drop-down menus of entry

    var F1 = getField ("DropdownList1");

    var F2 = getField ("DropdownList2");

    Refer to the output drop-down list

    F3 var = getField ("DropdownList3");

    Get the values of input field, as strings

    var s1 = event.target = f1? Event.value: f1.valueAsString;

    var s2 = event.target = f2? Event.value: f2.valueAsString;

    Fill the drop-down list of output with the elements, or deselect it if either input dropdown is 'empty' (single topic area)

    If (s1 = "" |) s2 === " ") {

    F3.clearItems ();

    } else {}

    F3.setItems (["", s1, s2]);

    }

    }

    In the two first downs Validate event, call this function like this:

    updateDropdown();

    You can of course name the function you want. More information about the properties and the methods used in the code are available in the Acrobat JavaScript documentation.

  • Drop-down list refreshes tabular

    Hello

    I use Apex 4.0 and I want to do something simple. I have the page with the two regions, one with a drop-down list. I have another section that includes a tabular presentation. I want to be able to use the element of the box in the query: PXX_MY_OPTION in the query in the form of tables, but the page is not updated. What is the easiest way to get that update and allow me to always validate changes in the region in a table.

    Thank you

    Mark

    Dynamic action to trigger a refreshment table when the menu item editing drop-down.
    Inorder to ensure that changes if it is made in the form of tables is saved, you can invite a message until the area is updated

    (1) event: change
    triggered by: point PXX_MY_OPTION
    -> Real Action 1: set new session value using a dummy process of PLSQL

    BEGIN
       NULL
    END;

    items to submit page: PXX_MY_OPTION
    Real Action 2: Code to Javascript, which prompts the user before the update, asking the user if he wants to save the form in a table

    if (confirm('DO you want to save the changes made') )
    { return false; }
    else {return true}

    Action 3: Refresh region : select region in a table

    You can also improve step 2, to detect if the user has actually made some changes to the form of tables and then just ask confirmation.

  • Selection in the drop-down list box determines the text to display in another box - ideas?

    Hello, my name is Zac.  I spent a lot of time trying to figure this one out for myself, but I couldn't find what I needed.  A few threads looked promising, but I realized that they only apply to the LiveCycle.  Many other threads link to discussion 2006 Thom Parker on this subject, but it is very advanced and I feel that what I need is not as complex as the solution he proposes.  I've never used Adobe Acrobat until a few weeks ago, but with the help of Bernd Alheit and George Johnson I managed to create a document with fly-out help windows and scrolling lists and radio buttons which dictate the choice.  It's great and it works.  The last thing I have to do is to create a text box (or some kind of box) which will display a pre-written block of text based on the user choice in another area (a drop-down list box).  Like this:

    image for forums 2.PNG

    I wish, it is also easy to create because it draw a picture of him!  If the user selects "Algebra 1", for example, a specific description display below.  There are a lot of courses and descriptions, and the descriptions are long enough (as shown).  It is not necessary for the user to make changes to the description - in fact, which would be terrible.  But I would like to be able to copy text from it and paste the text in another area of text on the same page.

    Thank you very much, all those who have ideas please share them! Again wild guesses. I learn from all this.

    This involves using a script. If you want to write the code yourself read this tutorial:

  • Create a secondary named calculation in a repeating subform based on a drop down list?

    Hi all

    I need a little crazy script. Not sure it is even possible.

    What I have:

    1. repeating subform SummarySub amounts
      1. calculation at the end of the form TotalOver field gives the total dollar amount of all iterations of SummarySub

        so far, so simple. but then:
    2. I need another, repeating the SubRow subform at the end of the form to give to other total:
      1. based on the drop-down list the name of the originator in SummarySub
      2. and break out the totals of all iterations of SummarySub based on payer such as chosen by the user names.

    Ideally, the subform (the principal totals) (B) at the end of the form would add instances as the user leaves the field name of the payer. I was not able to find a way to make and to keep the value in the field (name of the payer) of the additional instance.

    All this makes sense?

    I'll appreciate any help.  I'm trying to learn more about JavaScript in LC, but my bills just keep coming...

    Thank you very much

    Dropbox - AFBS_OverpaymentReport_121914.pdf

    Hi Laura,

    Take a look at the modified version of your form, https://sites.google.com/site/livecycledesignercookbooks/home/AFBS_OverpaymentReport_01011 5.pdf? attredirects = 0 & d = 1.  I added a subform called PayerTotals, which has a summary of insurance created in his event to calculate.  The code looks like.

    var oFields = xfa.resolveNodes("SummarySub[*]");

    var nNodesLength = _SummarySub.count;

    var nSum = 0;

    var insuranceCompanies = {}

    for (var nNodeCount = 0; nNodeCount < nNodesLength; nNodeCount++) {

     var item = oFields.item(nNodeCount);

     if (!item.InsuranceCompany.isNull && !item.OverpaymentAmount.isNull) {

     if (insuranceCompanies[item.InsuranceCompany.rawValue]) {

     insuranceCompanies[item.InsuranceCompany.rawValue] += item.OverpaymentAmount.rawValue

     else {

     insuranceCompanies[item.InsuranceCompany.rawValue] = item.OverpaymentAmount.rawValue

      nSum += item.OverpaymentAmount.rawValue;

    totalover.rawValue = nSum;

    _PayerTotal.setInstances(0);

    for (var insuranceCompany in insuranceCompanies) {

     var payerTotal = _PayerTotal.addInstance();

     payerTotal.InsuranceCompany.rawValue = insuranceCompany;

     payerTotal.totalover.rawValue = insuranceCompanies[insuranceCompany];

  • Populate a drop-down list based on selected in a drop-down list in a separate table

    Good day all.

    This may seem a simple question for most, but... He had me frustrated trying to figure out.

    I'm trying to fill in a drop-down list that is based on what is selected in another drop-down list.

    Let me explain what I've done so far.

    Life cycle of Designer 8.05.2

    When I got the two drop-down lists in the same table, I've not had a problem. The code I used is

    The table name is "table1".

    if (directorate.rawValue == '1')

    {

    division.clearItems ();

    division.addItem ("select" "")

    }

    I was asked to move things and now 'division' is located in 'Table2 '.

    I know that I need the "Table1" reference, but I'm running into a syntax error. I tried the following code;

    if (Table1 Row1 directorate.rawValue == '1')

    {

    division.clearItems ();

    division.addItem ("make a choice")

    }

    if (Table1.Row1.directorate.rawValue == '1')

    {

    division.clearItems ();

    division.addItem ("make a choice")

    }

    Any help would be appreciated

    Chomp

    You are missing a semicolon at the end of the line, addItem, and the second code example, you have no periods in the SOM (Table1 Row1 direction) reference.

    The best way to get the path to another field is to ctrl-click on the ground while you are in the script editor.

  • How the auto fill a field based on the drop-down list unless the specific item is selected

    Hi all

    My apologies if I posted this in in the wrong place, but I am new to these forums, JavaScript and Adobe LiveCycle.

    I am trying to build a form using LiveCycle Acrobat but have problems with the drop-down lists.

    Inititaly I just wanted to fill in the fields in a table based on a matching menu selection dropdown in another table.

    I used the following code and it worked fine:

    Workbook.Content.Table1.Row3.AppropriationDetails.Row4.Cell1::change - (JavaScript, client)

    fFrom var = xfa.resolveNodes ("Workbook.Content.Table1.Row3.AppropriationDetails [*]. Row4.cell1');

    OTF var = xfa.resolveNodes ("Workbook.Content.Table2.Row3.AppropriationDetails [*]. Row4.cell1");

    for (var i = 0; i < = fFrom.length - 1; i ++) {}

    fTo.item (i) .rawValue = fFrom.item (i) .boundItem (xfa.event.newText);

    }

    The problem is that now I want the code above works UNLESS one of the items in the drop-down list is enabled specifically in this case, I want the text box in the other table to display a message such as "Details of the entry in the field below.

    I tried to create an If Else statement using the following code:

    Workbook.Content.Table1.Row3.AppropriationDetails.Row4.Cell1::change - (JavaScript, client)

    fFrom var = xfa.resolveNodes ("Workbook.Content.Table1.Row3.AppropriationDetails [*]. Row4.cell1');

    OTF var = xfa.resolveNodes ("Workbook.Content.Table2.Row3.AppropriationDetails [*]. Row4.cell1");

    for (var i = 0; i < = fFrom.length - 1; i ++) {}

    If (fFrom.item (i) .rawvalue = "Option 3") {}

    fTo.item (i) .rawValue = "enter the details in the field below.

    }

    else {}

    fTo.item (i) .rawValue = fFrom.item (i) .boundItem (xfa.event.newText);

    }

    }

    The code now filled the field with "Enter the details in the field below" any item I select in the drop-down list.

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    See you soon,.

    Hello

    You use .rawValue in the change event. This will cause problems because the selection of the users has not received .rawValue from the drop-down list at the time when the change event is triggered.

    Move your script as it should to the output of the dropdown event.

    Hope that helps,

  • fill a list based on a value from the drop-down list box

    Well, I know a way around it but its quite long with what I know. I worked on a better solution for a day now. So maybe (or likely) someone knows better. I'm trying to fill a drop drop down based on a user selection figure in a list of check boxes. I know I could create several drop-down lists and hide away them until the user changes the value of binding. But the dropdowns would consume a lot of space in my form design in liveCycle. So is there another way or I'm stuck he made a long journey. I also need to assign values to these elements, since they change because the values are used as item numbers later that fill a text/number field later in form as a list of materials.

    Tell me if I'm wrong, please (I'm new to all this)

    in the box in the click event

    If (this.) RawValue == 1)

    {

    dropDownList1.addItem ("item # 1", "value1111");

    dropDownList1.addItem ("item # 2", "value2222");

    }

    on the other

    {

    dropDownList1.rawValue = "null";

    }

    I'm sure that null is not good and I don't know that I have to set the drop-down menu to clear items on preOpen. Or maybe not. And there is a way to add items without the addition of a new right of the line? I'm on the right track?

    Hello

    Rather than having the script in each of the boxes, you can have the script in the event preOpen the drop-down list that leans on the boxes.

    I downloaded an example here: https://acrobat.com/#d=VwREjsMgvqXpVqPu54kSNw

    Take a look at the preOpen the dropdown event.

    // clear the dropdown displayed value and items
    this.rawValue = null;
    this.clearItems();

    // repopulate the items based on the checkboxes
    if(fruit.rawValue == 1)
    {
         this.addItem("Apples", "fruit_001");
         this.addItem("Pears", "fruit_002");
         this.addItem("Oranges", "fruit_003");
         this.addItem("Bananas", "fruit_004");
         this.addItem("Grapes", "fruit_005");
    }

    if(cars.rawValue == 1)
    {
         this.addItem("Volvo", "car_001");
         this.addItem("Ford", "car_002");
         this.addItem("Opel", "car_003");
         this.addItem("Toyota", "car_004");
         this.addItem("Nissan", "car_005");
    }

    if(counties.rawValue == 1)
    {
         this.addItem("Co. Tipperary", "county_001");
         this.addItem("Co. Cork", "county_002");
         this.addItem("Co. Dublin", "county_003");
         this.addItem("Co. Clare", "county_004");
         this.addItem("Co. Kerry", "county_005");
    }

    Hope that helps,

  • Fill other fields based on a drop-down list box

    Hello

    I am completely new to LiveCycle and just starting to teach me how to use it.

    I want to speed up the filling of a purchase order by bringing them to fill based essentially on what is put in other areas.

    For example, I would like to than our usual suppliers to be included in a drop of water to the bottom of the box (I know not how, at least) and then have the address fields automatically filled.

    I know that I can do this using javascript, but it is rather annoying because I don't want to sit here put 276 suppliers in my script. In addition, I don't want to have to edit the script whenever we want to add a new provider.

    Is it possible to create a form that made it and can pull info on another file or database? Also, I would make it pretty fool-proof when it comes to adding new suppliers.

    Thank you

    Darryl

    The way to proceed is to hang on to the top of the drop-down list for a service web and that the web service returns a list of providers (in load of the form). Once the user selects a supplier a second web service would draw information and fill in the appropriate fields.  This technique is easier to configure on the client machines (as all the information is contained in the form). You will need to get another piece of software called LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server to allow the form make calls from web service of the player (assuming that the reader is used).

    The form can connect to a database directly, but this solution has drawbacks as well. You need to configure a dataconnection on each machine as the machine must be on the same network as the DB. It will work on Windows machines. You also punctuated by player to allow DB with Reader connections.

    Hope that helps

  • In a tubular form: how to make a drop-down list box reflect another

    a two field

    orange bread

    lemon juice

    in the area there is only the 3 but in the table representing two there are several such as bread and meat and juice types, all three.
    Hope you can understand this example. Thanks for your help.

    Hello
    You can follow the example or do it easier as follows: -.
    Let's say you have two combo box P1_ITEM_ONE, P2_ITEM_TWO

    for P1_ITEM_ONE, I guess you have LOV query based on the table something like this.

    Select Champ_1, field_id from your_table

    Make sure that you assign a null-1 and -1 for this list box default value drop-down.

    To make the P2_ITEM_TWO something like this to LOV-
    Select item1, item_id from your table where (field_id = NV('P1_ITEM_ONE') or NV ('P1_ITEM_TWO') = - 1)
    order by 1
