I'd like the menu to jump over the flash object, but quickly learned that some objects float naturally to the top - thread - but, the fix on this thread will not work for what I'm trying to do.
  
  Is there another way to get my menu pop on the film? I noticed that the adobe homepage has its menus on top of the flash movie, so it must be possible, somehow... right?
  
  Here is my Page of Test if it helps to see what is happening. The pop-up in question is 'What We Do'-> 'programs '.

  The key is a special Flash called WMODE parameter, abbreviation for Mode window.
  You will need to add this parameter to your movie, the value transparent. The
  way faster in Dreamweaver is to select your Flash movie and, from the
  Property inspector choose parameters. In the dialog box that opens, add
  in the setting column and transparent wmode under value. This should be
  the trick!

• SPRY drop down menus behind Flash

  I use SPRY menus for this website and the Flash animation on the home page hides the dropdown under 'Services '. It looks fine in IE and Firefox on MAC, but it hides the menus on Firefox on a PC. Any thoughts?

• I just bought a new computer and downloaded Firefox v 10.0.2 and drop-down menus as TOOLS just flashes and then goes. Is there a fix comoing soon?

  When you click the drop-down menus such as file or Tools menu flashes only and won't stay open long enough to make a selection.

• Flash drop-down menus

  I am creating a site that has flash in drop-down menus that are sitting in the first row of a table. In the second row is a large graphical banner - the banner is different for each of the eight sections of the site.
  I could put the banner in my menus and create 8 different files flash for menus, but this clearly isn't the way to do it. As I see it, I have two choices:
  1. find a way to easily win the menus drop "over" the chart. I played with the wmode = "transparent" setting but I can't seem to make it work. I publish my movie with a transparent window and then place it in the first row of the table. He stillpushes the second way to graph of line to the bottom of the page. I must be missing something.
  2. combine the menus and the graphic banner (my preference because it would allow me to make the banner look better with a touch of animation). I'd then 8 records and 8 versions of the menus... bad. Can I integrate a single file menu flash in 8 different flash animations so that the menus don't load only once. In addition, these inevitable changes are to be made to a single file.

  1. the file will occupy the dimensions, there an amovie of s, so the wmode service to make the background transparent.  You will probably need to put the Flash in a div which floats at the z above the table level, together with the transparent wmode.

  2. There are a variety of options.

  You can create the menu as a separate swf and load it into each swf banner.  Which will result in a menu swf and some number of banner SWF.

  You could have a menu-banner swf that dynamically load some image there on the page that it is.  You can use FlashVars to indicate what image load for this page.

  You could do a little of both... have a menu swf and have a swf banner that loads the menu and load the image on the page it is on.

  Try to reset your preferences file:

  Close the Fw
  Navigate to the following location on your drive:
  [Drive, C:] \Documents and Settings\ [user] \Application CS3\ [application language, such as "English" folder].

  Delete/backup the Preferences.txt file from this folder to a different location.

  Restart the FW and see if this fixes it.

  Unchecking scroll smoothly
  Uncheck auto-scroll
  Uncheck the hardware acceleration

  And about all the various combinations of the above things. I also tried to restart Firefox every time I made a change. Nothing seems to solve this problem.

  Oddly enough, if there is a window of text within the page (as I write this), I can scroll than fine. Once I move my mouse out of the box, it scrolls the homepage very well. I don't think that it is a matter of the development following the mouse, there something to scrollable drop-down boxes that specifically seems.

  Also, I must point out that all the pages I have problems with work well in IE how they SHOULD work in Firefox.

  I had this exact problem, the same features of HP and the driver Synaptics. I went to synaptics site and downloaded their latest driver which is lower 15.3.29.0 for some reason any. There 15.2.20, I got this one for 64 bit since that's what I have. You must uninstall the 15.3.29.0 first because it is "newer". He now works properly in FF and IE and everything else. If for any reason any the last FF has a confrontation with the latest version of the synaptics driver and FF devs had to include a fix in the next patch.

  I have w7 x 64 office services and tablet and writing are disabled.
  However, I see the shit 'hand with a pencil icon' in all the check boxes and drop down menus.
  It is not even recognizable on small boxes and is a total bore.
  I run my desktop PC with w7 x 64 for over a year and the symbol appeared after I've upgraded to IE10.

  Meanwhile, I think that I found the real cause.
  I had turned off the segue UI fonts during the day even when I updated to IE10.
  Strange as appears only in IE10 I assumed it it was due to the update.

  I have created a wonderful new site for a client using Muse and he saw the Business Catalyst website and is very happy with it. However, when I downloaded on his web server no drop-down submenus appear - but they do in Business Catalyst. I noticed that they do not appear in the preview either (I don't not pay much attention at the time). All links to the pages are set to 'include the page with hyperlink' or 'include page without hyperlink' - according to what was required by the customer.   Thank you very much for taking the trouble to help me, but I seem to have fixed. The customer has an account with "Clicky Analytics" and I put a HTML on the site in the master page in the site I was building. This prevented (somehow) in the drop-down menus to work. I took the master page into pieces and then added each element-back and when I added 'Clicky' menu has stopped working again.

  So I hope this helps anyone else who has a problem. This could be due to a code to another site.

  All active content on a page will always come to the top, so to speak,
  including Flash, some elements of form, Java applets and controls Active X.
  This means that each one will push through the layers. It is not a good
  Cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this problem, but if you can be
  confident in your visitors using IE 5 + or NN6 +, you can then use the Flash
  setting wmode (However, Safari does not support this correctly!).
