Duplicate Web site pages

I had a pre-existing site that I recently started editing with Dreamweaver CS3, on two computers (work and home). After a LOT of changes to several pages, I noticed one day that the changes were not on the site even if I keep the files to the remote server.

Good Web page: http://thomaslessman.com/LessmanFarm/Events.html
Incorrect Web page: http://www.thomaslessman.com/LessmanFarm/Events.html

Good Web page: http://thomaslessman.com/History/
Incorrect Web page: http://www.thomaslessman.com/History/
Another incorrect (2nd) version of the same page: http://www.thomaslessman.com/History/index.html

I'm confused that maybe at this moment on how this happens. I wonder if it is related to the configuration of a site by FTP, but I have not found anything on the FTP site or in My Network Places, which shows the different versions of these pages. Can anyone has any ideas on how I fix? I always thought that the "www." was not really important, and you get the same site, with or without the "www.".

Thank you both for your responses. I had tried several things without luck, before I resorted to post my question. It turns out that the CTRL > F5 has worked. I had already deleted the cache from my browser several times, as well as the updating of my screen. It of weird because multiple computers to my work had the same problem, and so did my home computer (which are on entirely different networks).

However, CTRL > F5 option worked. Again, thank you.

I have always used the Word edit html from dreamweaver.  Dreamweaver is ideal for laying on a Web site, but is a bad word processor and text editor.  I was, in fact, able to solve my problem and after renamed it my file has been able to set up the stray file.  -Thanks for your contribution!  -Jerry Gibson

  • Need help nav State active started working on the Web site pages 1 vertical slide...

    Hi guys!

I created a Web site vertical slide you can see here...

When you click a navigation button, when it takes you to the relevant slide, the active State should move the Home button to the relevant slide. It works fine without the 3 links on the end to external pages but it is only when these additional links are that something seems to get confused...

Anyone know how I can get the States of nav working for the slide of the site section?

Thank you very much and I hope to hear from you.

    SM

    Try this:

    . NAV-collapse: hover,.

    . NAV-collapse: active,.

    . NAV-collapse: focus {}

Google usually uses the meta description tag. Home page of the site has no info description, just a blank description meta tag...

Search engines can't spider, which does not exist.

EDIT: If this is a WP site, you should be able to add information description of the CMS for each page. If you have not installed, it may be time to get a plugin SEO (SEO by Yoast seems decent).

Hi, I'm working on a website ( www.katecornish.co.uk ) for someone.  In Firefox, the entire site seems well.  In IE the page "Attica 09' (www.katecornish.co.uk/Attic09.html) displayed at all, I just get a blank page."  In Safari displays this page, but the CSS is messed up and the h1 and h2 tags are just big black characters rather than the styles that I created.

    I think Safari is more strictly the processing your code then are other browsers.  "Through this 2nd page of the validator: http://validator.w3.org/ , shows that your header code is a link to a lightbox css file that does not exist, your document title end tag is just ' / title > ' missing right the"<", a="" script="" tag="" that="" ends="" but="" doesn't="" match="" up="" with="" an="" opening="" and="" some="" other="" minor="" errors. ="" see="" if="" fixing="" those="" tags="" helps="">

How can I do this on the same page in Muse?

Here´s one example of a Web page to another in the case I m not make myself clear.

In their portfolio section they have a submenu (all the Live action - Animation-, etc.) and the gallery changes when you click one of these options. I Don t care for the effect, I just want the images to change every time you click.

Thanks for your help in advance!

    Hi los400cortes,

You can do this by combining the Lightbox Widget for Composition with the slideshow Widget.

01 Add Lightbox display of the Composition section widget in the Widget Library

    02. for every little gray box (the trigger) add the thumbnail

    03. in the largest grey area (the target) just drag and drop your slideshow Widget (any that you would like the Widget Library)

    04. replace the images with the images you want for your slideshow

    05 overview

Let me know if this helps you with your design

  • How can I configure a secondary Navigation menu expandable linear stands for the specific Web site pages?

I'm looking to set up a secondary Navigation menu that is customized to specific pages on my site. I tried to do this using the Widgets Library > Menus > Vertical, then dragged the vertical menu on the page. I know how to add sub-pages using the + box, but I want the subpage names at shOE upward in a specific way. The problem I have is, I want the secondary navigation menu to have a specific look, with "pages" of the menu running in the vertical menu format and subpages if poster in a schema extensible sub-navigation form (see image below), so that when I click on a homepage of the sub navig. menu, all the sub pages expand underwear, slightly indented (so that the hierarchy of the pages is obvious). Then, when I click on a different home page and its subpages below expand, I want the subpages of the homepage previously clicked on to disappear. I've seen websites set up in this way and I like the simplicity, the functionality and look of this type of secondary navigation, I don't know how to do. Does anyone know how this can be done? I am ready to go the "long way" If that's what it takes. Thank you. AdobeMuse-SecondaryNavig.jpg

You can use the widget panel tabs to achieve this. (formatting to your look)

Just add some text in each Panel and a link to the specific page.

The only drawback is you wouldn't be able to link the main headings (Commercial... etc)

Yes, the site shows a mobile version, otherwise you can try emulators to display different version of your site:

    / * ~ ~ These are the columns for page layout. ~~

    (1) padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom block elements. The elements contained in these blocks have padding on their sides. This avoids any «mathematical model of box» Keep in mind, if you add lateral pads or border to the block itself, it will be added to the width that you set to create the * total width. You can also remove the padding of the element in the block element and place a second inner block with no width element and the necessary padding for your design.

    (2) no margin was given to the columns, because they all floated. If you need to add the margin, avoid placing on the side you're floating into (for example: a right margin on a block set to float to the right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For blocks where this rule needs to be broken, you need to add a statement of ' display: inline ' to the rule of the block element to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.

    (3) given that the classes can be used several times in a document (and an element can also have several classes applied), the columns have received the names of classes instead of IDs. For example, two blocks from the sidebar could be stacked if necessary. These can easily be changed to the ID if that's your preference, as long as you don't use them once per document.

    (4) If you prefer your nav on the left instead of the right, just float those columns the opposite direction (to the left instead of all rights), and they will return in reverse order. There is no need to move the blocks in the HTML source code.

Obviously, this HTML comment unpaired is a problem - browsers will think the whole page is a comment and you'll get a blank screen.  Disconnected should correct your live view - I think that's what says Rik...

  • Unable to bookmark Web sites/pages

All your Favorites options do not work. Right click on the page to select the bookmark this page double clicking Gold Star and clicking on bookmarks in the task bar to save are examples.

Problems with bookmarks and history does not properly can be caused by a corrupted database places.sqlite file.

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Web site - page DNG error

Does anyone know how to let Adobe know that their website has a mistake about it?  Windows and Mac links are reversed on the download DNG page.  If anyone knows how to tell them, please do.

Thank you. I reported it to Adobe.

Personally, I always use the links further down the page

  • A local application can be started and used on a page of Web site by the local user

can we build a way for a user to a Web site to open a desktop application on the local computer and run it through a page window.  Just curious...  Thank you

You could certainly have a desktop application open a web page in a browser, but not the reverse without the user giving permission for it. If you think to give the user the ability to use a web site without being connected to the internet, then look-up offline web sites/pages using browsers service workers.
