• DV6Z-6100: help with driver

  The driver listed in my device mgr shows Broadcom 4313GN but I when I scan my laptop on the HP site, it does not show this device as being installed - it shows realtek 8188.

  How can I get the latest drivers for this adapter.

  Hello! I'll try to explain as best I can. One day that my computer was real slow so I decided to factory restore my laptop, I did. But since after that, I can't use my wifi for internet access. The only way I can connect to the internet today is ethernet cable.

  So, a little more information on my problem. The icon in the lower right shows a computer with an X on it. My F12 key continues with a clear blue lid upwards.  When I go to the HP Connection Manager it says Wi - Fi (Wireless LAN) disabled by the Device Manager. When I go to Device Manager > network adapters, all the drivers that I see are these three

  "Device Bluetooth (personal area network).

  "Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM TDI Protocol"

  "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller #2.

  That's what I see. Am I missing any other drivers? Thank you!

• dv6z-6100: broken fan - help looking for replacement! [dv6z-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC]

  See the title of the thread.

  I took it apart to clean (after like...) 4 years of regular use) and just realized that the fan has stopped working since this point. He works at an ambient temperature of 140-150ff now - turn serious ongoing fire.

  I'm not terribly great with hardware and struggling to understand this fan to get as a replacement. Any help would be appreciated.

  And yes I know it's an old mobile phone, but I'm trying to hold on. ;-)

  If no fan is always available on order you get at least the part number. Google it-Amazon, Ebay all have probably something compatible.

  The link to download the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the HPSA page no longer (at least for me). When I choose the download to laptop, I get redirected to the language/country selection page and selecting a language just redirects me to the support home page. I searched this forum and Google but have been unable to find a working link to download. • HP Pavilion dv6z-6100 CTO Quad Edition display replacement

  Looking for a quote on a replacement display for laptop from my friend. I'm quite fine with replace it myself, and it is out of warranty. But finding a legitimate replacement to order screen is always fragmentary for me. Figured that a response to a real HP forum can instill more confidence in me by buying one that is compatible with this laptop.

  I thought it would be as easy as to enter my number of product on the HP site and get a quote for spare parts, a girl can dream I suppose...

  I understand that you need to know what Board you need for the system.

  Page 103 of this guide lists the billboards are compatible with this device.  One of those listed will work, but you may need to order the Panel that corresponds to the color of the system.  For example, Black Espresso would be ordered if the unit was black espresso.  Once you determine what billboard is being ordered, you can order it by searching online for the corresponding part number.  You can also check the numbers here, but the parties seem to be there as detailed as they were in the maintenance and service guide.

  It is the LCD gray steel.  I gave an example of the gray steel as it is usually the most common color among the units of the HP.

  I did a new install of Windows 7 to get rid of a bunch of stuff.  Everything seems to work perfectly, except that I can't get the SM Bus controller driver installed.

• Can not download win 8 of a computer hp pavilion dv6 laptop

  I have a HP Pavilion dv6z-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Pc.

  I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

  I think I tried everything to get the Win 8 Preview for download.  He almost finished and then freezes and will not finish the download.  Problem is there is no information given regarding just why does not end the download.  I even did a clean installation

  Windows 7 and it will still be install, thinking like Win 8 will use 7 material which would work a new installation.  No luck

  If you do not have to install Windows 8 via the DVD, it may be that your burning speed is set too high. Burn at 4 x or slower this time.

  You can have more success with a 8 Windows USB Installer. It is certainly substantially longer quick and more reliable than an installation DVD.

• Replacement for HP fan question

  If the fan on my HP dv6z-6100 died recently, and I plan to replace it myself.  I'm a bit confused as to who fan should I buy.  From what I can tell, I need the part designated fan 650848-001

  I suggest you download the service manual for you mode (hp support & drivers) that will have some guidance on stripping.

  Also on youtube a video of dv6z-6100 as must find something to help give idea of participation.

  Top tips is organized labor & on a cloth soft to protect the laptop brands, have a tray to place parts on & spread screws in the order around parts so you will be sure to know where they're going, little pictures or marking things can help that can think twice rather than force things or be in a hurry.

  static straps are not needed, don't forget to touch as little as possible on mainboard & be sure to not be rough with any delicate componts & everything will be fine... good luck...

• Internet not working, suspect the missing drivers

  My laptop is a HP pavilion dv6z 6100 laptop with windows 7 64-bit OS.

  I recently bought a new hard drive and reinstalled windows and while I was there, I put in a new screen.  Long story.

  I did both jobs and everthing seems to be okay and my computer booted up beautifully, but now my internet does not work.  I looked at my device manager and there were a few nice yellow triangles with some! "s in em.  There are 7 of em.

  I tried to update the drivers with what has been on the hp website, but it doesn't seem to do much.

  Devices with errors are:

  Network PCI Device, controller, SM Bus controller, USB controller, unknown device, USB controller, unknown device

  the hardware for them in the same order ID are:

  PCI/VEN_14E4 & DEV_4727 & SUBSYS_1483103C & REV_01 - RCO network.

  Hi Safaras,

  You have entries in the hosts file? I suggest that you enable debugging as shown (Note: 422419.1 - R12, 12.1.1 - how to activate and collect Debug HTTP and OC4J OPMN) and see if more information is collected in the newspapers.
