EBS R12.1.3 on the 12 c RAC database

We are running EBS version 12.1.3 on RAC cluster for node 3 11 GR 2 and works well. We are currently working on upgrading our RAC database to 12 c.

Looking at the Oracle support, I can see there are notes related to stamps of interoperability thus recommended on 12 c init parameters.

I can't find any other relevant document where there are performance problems and possible solutions.

I'm sure that the people would have taken this path... ghoulish someone please provide input as to what measures we should take to make sure that we don't encounter unforeseen problems.

Know your opinion.

TO THE

I'm not aware of important performance issues at the top of the 12.1.0.1 of database with R12, and I believe that if you apply all the patches in the following docs, then you should be good. If you have specific concerns, please do not hesitate to share with us.

  • Stuck in the stage Listener entry in the DOUBLE OF RAC databases

    I'm trying to reproduce a new db production db RAC RAC with RMAN.

    I'm done with the following steps:
    (1) prod backup database with rman
    (2) copy init file and entries to not taking into account parameters of rac...
    (3) create a password for the new db file
    now, I'm stuck at step 4) create a static Earphone for your new database and reload the listener as the case may be.
    This step is necessary because a double RMAN uses an auxiliary database which lies in no Assembly and therefore will not automatically register with the other as specified by local_listener, remote_listener and or by default, 1521.

    For example:

    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = rman.colestock.test)
    (ORACLE_HOME = u03/app/oracle/product/db/10.2)
    (SID_NAME = rman2)
    )

    The foregoing is digital, that I got.

    However I'm very confused here:
    First of all, on the RAC server, I added entry sid at the bottom of the listener.ora. and the tnsnames entry looks like this:
    ABC =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP (PORT = 1528))(HOST = xxxxxx76))
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = xxxxxx 77)(PORT = 1528))
    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = abc_service)
    )
    )

    How can I add a sid entry in the tnsnames.ora file? Since I assumed first, create a single database not cars, what do I have to place name service_name or sid?

    Another confusion is how to charge the listener? Since it is a RAC server, two nodes has two listenrs: abc_listener1, abc_listener2. I have to stop and start listner by svrctl stop the dynamic listener?

    Please if you can, provide the procedure detailed here how create static listener tnsnames entry and entry of listener on a CCR environment and then reload the listener.

    I have to finish the duplication of this weekend. So, any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

    You must copy all applications and files nodes of level database from the source to the target servers-this is already explained/mentioned in the documents mentioned above.

    2.3 insurance of the viability of assets that EBS is to be well taken care of and fully supported by Oracle?

  • Integration of Oracle Apex 4.0.2 with EBS R12.1.1

    We could integrate Oracle Apex 4.0.2 with EBS R12.1.1 with the help of http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/apex-ebs-wp-cabot-consulting-169064.pdf successfully.

    The document said to navigate from EBS to Oracle Apex without any second login screen (works very well!), but now how we sail to EBS to Oracle Apex (in the same session) without any screen connection again as below

    User login of EBS-->--> Oracle Apex-> EBS EBS

    Please help to achieve this goal.

    Hello

    In your application's authentication scheme in the sign-out URL Section, gives the following

    wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.logout_then_go_to_url?p_args=&APP_ID.:http://xyz.ck.com:8010/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?OAFunc=OAHOMEPAGE

    Provide your url on ebiz instead of http://xyz.ck.com:8010 in the link above.

    Thus, while pressing the logout link in your apex, you will not be redirected to login ebiz again page, it will be redirect you ebiz menu homepage back in the same session itself.

    This will work for sure.

    Good luck!!!

    Change your login username of "805196" in a meaningful Word.

  • Integration of Oracle Apex with EBS R12.1.1

    Dear all,

    We are in the process of integration Oracle Apex 4.0.2 with EBS R12.1.1 with the help of http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/apex-ebs-wp-cabot-consulting-169064.pdf.

    After doing all the steps, the time where we sail of EBS to Apex application clicking on EBS links menu it ends with error below

    "404 not found".

    ' / OA_HTML/null/pls/apex/f resource not found on this server.

    After some tests, I found the code below in "LaunchApex.jsp" in order to get the value of profile (supposed to be "http://myserver:port") of custom system 'APEX_HTTP_SERVER' profile and prefacing of ' / apex/f? ' p = applicationid:page:APPS: ' does not work correctly

    "
    ...

    String l_launcher = ctx.getProfileStore () .getProfile ("APEX_HTTP_SERVER");
    l_launcher = l_launcher + "/ apex/f? p ="+ p_application +": "+ p_page;
    l_launcher = l_launcher + ': APPS: "+ p_item_names +": "+ p_item_values;

    ...

    "

    as we found that the profile custom system 'APEX_HTTP_SERVER' does not exist in the EBS system. But it works without any error page if we encode the URL of the entire application variable in l_launcher apex, but this hard brings us to the page of connection of EBS instead of the Apex application page.

    So I think that we can't work around by using the value of 'APEX_HTTP_SERVER' profile because it has something to do with the EBS application session.

    So could someone please help me how we could create custom profile system "APEX_HTTP_SERVER" or other options to make the transparent integration of apex Oracle with EBS works without any second login page

    Thanks in advance

    Hi oar,

    you will need to change as the below in the jsp

    String l_launcher = ctx.getProfileStore().getProfile("OAE_LAUNCHER");
    l_launcher = l_launcher + "/apex/f?p=" + p_application + ":" + p_page;
    l_launcher = l_launcher + "::APPS:::" + p_item_names + ":" + p_item_values;

  • ASIC can run on the same server/db like EBS (R12.1)

    Hello

    We have an EBS (R12.1) environment and intend to use the CPSA. I've seen environments where the CAWC runs in its own environment/database, etc. and connects to an instance of the EBS. Which is the only type of available configuration or can CAWC run fully within an environment of EBS/instance on the same server? If so, what are the consequences of such a configuration, for example on the performance.

    Thank you

    NAT.

    Hi Nat,

    ASIC can be configured in two ways:

    1 centralized - where the EBS and VCP reside on the same application server.

    2 decentralized - where the EBS and CRS are on two different application servers.

    Basically the motor nucleus of CPSA of planning does all the planning in the memory of the application server (and not in the database). This planning process is highly require a lot of resources (memory) and requires a huge memory (according to the data, the type of plan and many other factors). If the application servers are not the right size, this led to the poor performance of the application. And if both the planning and EBS reside on the same server, there are possibilities that you slow the global treatment through the functions of the company. That's why decentralized architecture is preferred, where the planning process running on another remote computer of your EBS and it didn't there in not affecting transactional modules.

    Beyond that, you have the ease of maintenance in terms of correction, update, addition of multiple of VCP modules, if you're on a decentralised architecture.

    Centralized architecture is also not rare. Many companies run their planning and EBS on a single machine.

    I hope that the above gives you a point of view, using which you can choose what suits your business best!

  • Another application on the ebs r12 database

    Hello

    I would like to know if I can create another user on the ebs r12 database.

    That's another application (not ebs).

    What are the risks?

    Is there an id doc on this subject?

    Thank you.

    It may not be available for that Oracle doc. But as a principle, why the unrelated database schema is created in the EBS database. This will add more load on the database of EBS, administrative effort. Let's say that your EBS database is down for maintenance, while the other application accessing this scheme does not require maintenance always, it will be down.
