  I bought an opportunity elitebook 8440p on ebay, which seems to work very well. The free update of winows 7 Windows 10 has been super cool, until a Bios update has been made available and it was obvious that the previous owner had put an ADMIN of the BIOS password.

  After that download the new bios, and then all sorts of other "soft pack" and has spent 24 hours trying to install the new Bios, it is now clear that this is not the case not anytime soon!

  Can you please tell me what it will take to update the bios?

  Insert a clean USB flash drive.

  Then run USB Image tool.

  Choose the flash drive, and then click RESTORE.

  Remove the flash drive after the restore.

  Insert a locked portable flash drive and boot. "" If the HARD drive is installed, remove before starting.

  At C:\OUTPUT, type CD...   "And then press ENTER.

  HPBR of type "and then press ENTER.

  First thing is to save your settings.

  Select 3 # re-program.

  Press "S" to save the system information.

  Type HPBR and press ENTER.

  Select 'of FIRST BROADCAST.

  Then select the model.

  After the restart to repeat, same as above but this time SELECT 'SECOND RUN.

  Some instructions here. "If you can't boot from USB there are instructions for making a bootable HARD drive."

  Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or EliteBook have more strict security consumption patterns - they do not produce "stop codes", the password cannot be derived from the serial number and the code is stored in a nonvolatile memory to remove the RTC cell does not reset the password in this case.

  If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to file a custom SMC.bin that you can use to reset the password at startup.

  1.) it of not possible to remove the BIOS password yourself.
  If you forgot the password of the BIOS, then contact Toshiba service partner in your country to remove the password.

  2.) each laptop has a BIOS procedure. You should check the Toshiba FAQ - How can I update the BIOS-

  I recently took an EliteBook 8440p, updated from an older model. I use this machine to play Eve Online while traveling. The problem I have is with the graphics card, it keeps reseting when some parts of the game to the top load, in particular, whenever my character in the play jumps through a wormhole, or a door of the stars, the game crashes, the screen goes black, gets and I get a message saying that card graph reset It's very persistent... I have already contacted the customer service at this topic and updated all the drivers for this machine, nothing has had no effect. The old version of this machine I upgraded to run Eve Online without any problems at all... Why am I having this problem with a newer model?

  Try to set supervisor supervisor password utility password again. After reboot, use this tool to delete it again.
