EM does not create entry tnsnames.ora with service name orcl11gr2
Hi allI am trying to create a service network with EM Database Control, Net Services Administration link name. On the service name field, under the "Edit Net Service Name" screen, I type in orcl11gr2, and it throws the following error:
Validation error
Review and correct the following errors, and then try again:
Service name - specify a valid service name.
I wonder what is the additional validation that checks EM. I guess it's to check the number of characters to 8 characters or less.
In addition, because of this additional validation that is in MS, all entry tnsnames.ora with service name = orcl11gr2, I won't be able to use 'EM to change, as I have the same error.
But why Oracle implements this additional validation when the same validation is not implemented on other Oracle tools? For example:
1 dbca allows me to create a database with instance_name greater than 8 characters, and the results of the initialization parameters will be as follows:
db_name = orcl11gr - truncated to 8 characters
instance_name = orcl11gr2
db_unique_name = orcl11gr2
noms_service = orcl11gr2
2 oracle Net Manager supports the name of orcl11gr2. The name of the created Service Net, I have no problem connecting to the database.
3. name of the service orcl11gr2 of listener support
I am using Oracle 11 g R2 (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x 64), running on Windows 7.
Its a known issue fixed 12gc Ms.

Net Oracle does not read the tnsnames.ora file.
I am running 11.2.0.3 on Solaris 10 SPARC x 64. I'm trying to configure oracle net for a new database on hold in order to be able to use rman duplicate to create. LDAP is what we mainly use for all of our connections and, possibly, what I could use very well for my goal of rman duplication. But, I fear that I do nothing seems to allow me to read the tnsnames.ora file.
My SQLNET. ORA file is as follows:
NAMES. DIRECTORY_PATH = (LDAP, TNSNAMES)
NAMES. DEFAULT_DOMAIN = mydomain.com
My TNSNAMES file. ORA file is as follows on both servers:
WLDB_HERE =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = primary_server) (PORT = 1521))
)
(CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = wldb_here.mydomain.com))
)
WLDB_THERE =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = standby_server) (PORT = 1521))
)
(CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = wldb_there.mydomain.com))
)I have a static entry in the remote listener.ora file so I can connect to create the instance:
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(GLOBAL_DBNAME = wldb_there.mydomain.com)
(ORACLE_HOME = / u01/app/oracle/product/OraHome112)
(SID_NAME = WJZI)
)
)
LISTENER =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = standby_server) (PORT = 1521))
)Permissions on my .ora files in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin are
-rw - r - r - 1 oracle dba
The user that I am connected to who is oracle.
I have set up several times before, but for some reason that I can't get this to work. I get
AMT-03505: failed to resolve host
Of
tnsping wldb_there
or
tnsping wldb_here
I have not tried to take the LDAP Protocol on my sqlnet.ora because I need, but I really want to know if anyone has had an experience like this before.
Thank you-

You do not have an entry in your tnsnames.ora to 'WLDB_HERE.mydomain.com '.

First Pro CC does not create a new sequence with a new project
I'm sure I must be missing something, but when I create a new project in first Pro CC, it does not automatically create a new sequence.
In CS6, create a new project would cause a list of sequence presets, and then create a sequence is empty for you.
In CC, once you have created a project, you end up looking at an empty timeline. You then go to the file, new, sequence and it do.
Looks like a strange step to include, no?
Is there a setting that I have not found so made CC to create new projects with a sequence like CS6?
Yes, as Jim mentioned, there are other ways to create a sequence. For example, simply import your video footage and then with a clip selected, choose file > New > sequence of the Clip. Or in the project Panel, drag an item to a new item icon. Much easier create the sequence of way, rather than by reading all the parameters in the dialog box new sequence and try to understand which attributes correspond to the media they work with.

I can't create an installer on LabView, after install the Vision Builder demo and then uninstall it. I can't create a Labview Installer more, he asks me an installer of generator of Vision, even if Labview my program does not have nothing to do with it...
Hi, Shada, this can happen if you include additional installers to your installer for example DAQmx. When you do this the installation program must include other files like MAX (Measuremente and Automation Explorer). Probably when you installed Vision Builder he updated MAX, so when your Installer try to understand MAX, his request the source where it was installed in your computer in this case Vision Builder.
Here you can cache information so it is not asked once again, or you can download a version more recent fo DAQmx, then it will update MAX and change the dependecy.
You can find more details about it in this KB:
And to keep a copy, here's more information:
How to stop missing delivery Notification whenever I build an installer?

the LabVIEW 2014 32 bit app installer doesn't create folders/files in personal documents folder and does not create the registry entries in hkey_current_user\software except as an administrator.
It's a true statement.
You must change the windows policies, user restrictions (not recommended), normally the register (write) access is limited to normal users.

[Original title: windows mail problem]
... when I click on anything in the email is a box that says "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action...".
Everything is a bit wide.
- If what you click is a hyperlink to a Web page or a URL of type http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-ecoms/windows-mail-this-file-does-not-have-a-program/62ac226a-cca4-4ae9-9678-98e0a015fc2a, then the file associations that are broken are those who launch a browser to view the web page. This would include the HTTP and HTTPS protocols.
- If you click is an email address, it is the file association for the mailto: protocol that broke.
- If it you click on a file as an attachment to the e-mail message, then this is the file association for the type of file (for example, .docx, .pdf, .jpg) concerned who broke.
Assuming that you are talking about the first, (re-) represent Internet Explorer as default browser by clicking on the Start button then clicking default programs. Select set your default programs, and then Internet Explorer in the left page and click the Green Summit.
To ensure that all users of the computer doesn't have the same problem, login Windows with an administrator account and return to the default programs page. This time, select set access and the computer program defaults.
- Select custom , and then click the chevrons pointing to extend the selection.
- Under choose a default browser, select Internet Explorer.
- For other browsers you use, select enable access to this program .
- Click OK, and then restart the computer.
Now try to click a link in an e-mail. If it still does not work, please describe in detail what is happening, including the full text of the error message.
