Email - The sound Notification of new messages.

Does anyone know if webOS makes a sound when you receive an email? I have all my sound prefs on but if an email arrives and my camera is not on I need to rely on my Smartphone to tell me that it happened.

Anyone know if you can get webOS for this?

The TouchPad can warn you when it receives an email (even if the screen is off).  Check the preferences for each e-mail account, you have put in place and ensure that they are not set to "Mute".

Set up e-mail sounds are on page 56 in TouchPad User Guide

There have been a few reports users lose all the sounds due to a bug, but a restart of the device returns things to normal.

    Hello

One thing that can help is a bit what follows.  Do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "playback devices".  Left click the device once to highlight default (it is usually 'speakers & headphones') and then click the properties button.  Click the enhancements tab and put a check mark in the box "Loudness equalization.  Click on apply to save the changes and then click OK in all other windows and see if allowed at all.

  • No notification of new message in Outlook Express

I check the box to let me know the arrival of a new email and with sound howerver, that it does not work only when I go to Outlook Express how can I get this to work? Thank you

Well, OE should be opened for a notification, but it can be minimized in the taskbar. If you get no sound notification in this case, open the control panel. Sounds and Audio devices | Sounds. Scroll until further notice by email and make sure that there is a selected sound. If there is, try a different sound, as a test.

If you still have no sound, try a new identity.

You may have a damaged identity especially if it's the default main identity. File | Identity | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

  • How to change the color of the mailbox that contains new messages

I have Thunderbird sort my incoming mail into different mailboxes based on different criteria.

Until recently, the arrival of new messages in any box, the title of this box (in the list, the left pane) became Red - which makes it easy for me to identify what boxes necessary to my attention. For some reason, it stopped. The incremental number indicating the number of unread to messages always changes, but the color of title remains black.

Someone knows how to change the behavior in order to highlight the mailboxes containing new messages please?

    Hello CMP1960,

Your provider of fair access to the questions:

Basic information you need to set your E-mail account:
Incoming mail server type = POP3
    Inbound: pop3.mail.wowway.com
    Outbound: smtp.mail.wowway.com
Your account name is the user name you selected for your e-mail address
Your password is the password that you selected when you created your e-mail username and password.

You do not have your correct outgoing server name: are subject: How do you know ', account: 'pop3.mail.wowway.com', Server: 'smtp.mail.woway.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10013, error number: 0x800CCC0E

You must add an another 'w' in the name of the server. It must be smtp.mail.wowway.com.

    I hope this helps.

  • Change the default value for new messages of the 'paragraph' in "text" format the answer currently online because it does not work

The answer currently online for this problem said to follow the sequence "tools-options-composition" and then change the default value, but this sequence "tools-options-composition" does not exist in Thunderbird (at least in the version I have, 45.4.0). Under 'tools', there is no option 'options... '

It can depend on what menu you look and which operating system you are using.

Tools | Options | Composition refers to the menu bar on top old.

You can use alt or F10 to make the menu appear temporarily. Go to the view of . Toolbars and check the boxes if you want it constantly on the show.

If you use the button 'Menu of the Application' new fashion (with three horizontal lines - see the attached picture) then it's probably Options | Options | Composition -I say 'probably' because I'm on Linux where 'Options' are replaced, I think that, by "Preferences". Another complication with this infernal Application Menu is that different things happen depending on whether you click or hover. Place the cursor on the Options of the first and the second appears after some time.

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences_in_Windows, _Linux, _and_Mac of the differences in Windows, Mac and Linux menus.

  • Cannot paste PrintScreen in new message email OWA 2013

I have more than 100 users using Firefox to access their e-mail through OWA 2013. I originally installed Version 46.0.1, and everything worked perfectly. Recently I started having users complain that they were more able to paste screenshots directly in their emails with Firefox. It still worked perfectly before with Firefox and it still works with Google Chrome. Take the users procedure is to connect to their e-mail using Firefox OWA account, press the print screen button to copy the screen to the Clipboard, open a new message (or reply to or forward an existing message) and then right-click in the body of the message and paste. They could also do a CTRL V and would also paste the image into their message. Initially, I tried an uninstall and reinstall of Firefox and it worked for a while. They may have questions the next time that they opened a session on their computer. Seems them to be something different between the versions 46.0.1 and 50.0.1 because paste a screenshot in a new message running 46.0.1 Version and it does not work in 50.0.1. Help, please...

What I found by viewing the source code in Outlook 2010 is img src = "data: image / png;" It was the only line that had 'img '.

Well, there is the problem. A 'data URI' is a version coded an image, but Outlook 2010 apparently does not show them (in Outlook 2007 +, Word is the HTML rather than IE rendering engine, and it disables or lack of support for the many classic HTML features, depending on how you look at it). See: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6070196/what-is-data-uri-support-like-in-major-email-client-software

If you view the source in a message sent from OWA in Chrome, it has probably the most classic cid: URL for the img, and not a data: URL.

I've rechecked again this morning and when I dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled; false I can paste the screen capture into a new message, but the recipient does not receive it. If the parameter is dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled; true I can't paste a screenshot in the message at all.

On reflection, I think that this means that when the scripts on the page are allowed to intercept the dough, they handle correctly and you end up with nothing, and when you block scripts to intercept the dough, they behave more like you drag/drop an attachment on the message. Except now in Firefox 50 attachment is somehow be converted into a data URI. ??

I guess that an upgrade of Exchange is not possible in the short term...

Someone else using OWA 2013 might develop a workaround solution: for example, a script could be injected into the page which hides the new objects/functions of JavaScript to the page so that it will fall back on the old code.

For now, you could consider your users (1) switch to Extended Support Release of Firefox 45 version and (2) the filing of a bug on this to see if a solution can be developed before the next version of ESR in the spring.

  • "Device Failed to Connect" sound notification with no popup at startup once the desktop appears

When the desktop appears, I sound "dududu" with no popup. I had to look it up in the audio file and the explanation next to it said noise "device failed to connect.

I currently have no device attached except speakers and keyboard and mouse. I bought a HP Phopsmart printer and installed but it does not work well, so I uninstalled it. I left the USB cable connected to the computer after disconnecting the printer after reboot several times, and then disconnected. At this time the sound notification has begun.

I don't know if the printer had nothing to do with it. What should I do to fix this? Help, please. Thank you.

    Hello

Have you tried to remove your printer as described in the article?

If no, then try and see if the problem still occurs.

    Steps to open Device Manager:

    1. click the Start button, type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.

You can also check if the problem persists in safe mode and post back with the State, so that we can help you better.

To use the safe mode option, follow these steps:

    1. reboot your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
    2. use the arrows to choose appears in the Advanced Options in Windows Safe Mode menu and press ENTER.
