Empty folders of e-mail in Windows Mail

I want to empty my emails in the deleted items folder, but cannot do so.  They remain as they are and, of course, increase in number.  Also, I can't remove them from the junk e-mail folder.  Something must have happened to cause this problem, as they emptied successfully before.

Thank you for your response.  To answer your point 1, I can right click on, say, deleted items.  I then get an another menu called "Windows Mail", which contains the question "are you sure you want to permanently delete the contents of the folder"deleted items "?  When I click on 'Yes', nothing happens, so that all these emails emptied before.

Please try this...
Open Windows Mail > menu bar, file > work offline.
Now, right click on deleted items > click empty deleted items folder > Yes.
They go, or?
* don't forget to then put online.

If still no, please check if your AV a scan option email is enabled. If so, please disable it and try to make the deletion again.

Last suggestion: open another user account, if you can and see if you have the same problem. If the new user account is OK, then you probably have a somewhat damaged account.

Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For Messages:

Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail. Open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

    Hello

There is a bug in the Windows Live programs.

The files contain no data and are all 0 bytes. You can delete these folders.

  • Skype prevents the removal of empty folders!

    1. I use Skype only for Conference calls and interaction of students in university level and regular group tasks. In other words, I refuse any connection to anyone do not actively participate in a class with me at one time or another for the next two years.

Now, I noticed a "remarkable" feature in Skype for these last two days (48 hours).

I had to remove the empty of my desktop system folders and not until I completely closed and you leave Skype (ver. 7.22.85.109 on Windows 7 x 64) made this stop "have action."

In other words, when Skype does NOT work my OS works as expected.

      It should be noted here is;

1: I've not linked, shared or any files included in a file sharing activity to any else via Skype or a Skype session.

2: the files are empty! Deleting the file, simply not work records.

3: the content of the folders is not associated with uni and so has no objective sharing ever existed with or by the use of Skype.

4: no application used to interact with the content of the folders have interacted with Skype never directly or indirectly.

      So now, the question remains:
"Why is Skype lock up my empty folders, preventing them to be deleted"?

The path to these files are NOT in systems or paths of Skype but on other players or on my desk!

There is nothing interesting in the information "filtered". The only one I can see, is that you have VirtualBox running application, so you can stop it and see if that changes anything.

In addition, the version of ( Internet Explorer (IE11) installed on your computer is not refreshed (judging by the mashtml.dll error messages shown in the log). Know that no matter what browser you use, Skype is still using IE engine installed on your computer.

  • Can I remove empty folders such as MSI1de5d.tmp in C: / drive?

Original title: Tmp files.  What are the empty folders such as MSI1de5d.tmp in C: / drive?  I have @ 75.  Can I delete? by daytripper

MSI1de5d.tmp what are the empty folders like this?  Who and why are they created?

    Hello

Have you done a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

By default the TEMP is %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp but MSI (Windows Installer) has always put msixxx.tmp serial % systemroot%\TMP.

MST files are special files that are used to specify parameters or options during a program installation.

Nothing in the Temp folder can be deleted safely once the computer has been restarted.  No matter what is there, all the files created there have been created on a temporary basis.

You can delete the files after restarting the computer.

You can also use Disk Cleanup to delete these files.

  • Deleting empty folders: "Thumbs.db" - what is?

Advice on another thread I posted, I moved my photos of a large number of individual files to a folder, preferring to use the tags and other criteria to rank them in an organization "flat-file".

Now I remove empty folders, those who used to store individual photos.  I go about deleting these, I encounter a warning message to the effect "Thumbs.db is a file system.  If you remove it, really bad things could happen, etc. "I want to get rid of these files, but how can I not create more problems with"Thumbs.db"everywhere where it is (it showed anywhere that I can see, and I checked the box for folders show system files.)

    Hello

Yes as long as you intend to remove the folder and its contents and then the warning can be ignored.

It keeps the info/cache the thumbnails in this case so it is usually better to leave it as it is.

Even if you have deleted a thumbs.db file in a folder that you want to keep thumbs.db should be rebuilt.
(Not all real photos however, who would stay deleted.)

  • Files with the help of Transcend F25 external USB Drive: copy, but I don't see that empty folders (disk size indicates that the files are still there, though)

    Hello-

I use Windows 7 Professional and everything seems to work very well. I joined my new Transcend f25 USB (300g) to use for backups. I copied on about 20 concerts of archives and had run Windows it's first backup.

Everything seemed fine, and the available space on the disc is now about 230g, that sounds right. The problem is I see only empty folders on disk!

Now, I know with certainty that the files are there because I tried to plug the drive in an old laptop XP - bingo there was all my files! Can someone advise me? This seems to be a configuration problem, or maybe a drive error. The files were there when I added in the first place, however, is very strange!

How can I see my files? Help!

    Thanks, Dave

Check the disk for errors by using this procedure.
    1. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.

2 - Click on the drive you want to check, and then click Properties.

    3. click on the Tools tab and then, under check for errors, click Find now.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will be a problem, but not to fix them.

To perform a thorough check, select search and attempt to recover bad sectors. This analysis tries to find and repair physical errors on the disk itself, and it may take much longer to complete.

To check for errors file and the physical errors, select both automatically fix errors in file system and search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    4. click on start.

    Kind regards.

  • How can I remove (empty) folders in Lightroom?

After slaughter of the bad shots and do a bit of re-organization, I was with many empty folders.  "Withdrawal" in Lightroom takes them out of the catalog, but leaves empty folders on the disk.  Is it possible in Lightroom to remove a record catalog and drive?  At present, it seems like a two-stage process: delete the catalog, and then in the Finder.

It sounds like a simple question, but I couldn't find an answer after spending a lot of time looking on the Web and poking around in Lr.  I found a few (older) posts on various sites/blogs help that suggests LR should remove empty folders automatically; This is certainly not the case for me.  Others said you should be able to delete a file using the context menu, then choosing Remove (any indication it works in Windows, not Mac).

I use Lr 5.7 (creative cloud version); MacBook Air with OS X Yosemite; photos (where empty folders are) stored on a Synology NAS.

    Many thanks for any help.

    Charles

It is likely to be a problem of SIN/OS... delete an empty folder to my Synology NAS does not remove the folder, while if I do the same with an empty folder on a USB3 connected external drive the folder IS deleted.

But Rob is also correct that the folder must be empty to remove the disc occurs.

  • Is there a risk to delete all empty folders

I'm a "degunking" from my computer.  I have removed several unwanted files and delete empty folders.  I would like to make a mass delition of empty folders and I wonder if there is a danger in this procedure.  The program I have to delete these folders tells me that it is y 989 on my system.

I think you're about you for nothing.  These empty folders can be temporary custodians for a variety of applications that may not be able to recreate them when necessary.

  • Problem of empty folders

After many synchronizations and removes it from the music, I noticed that the clip keeps empty folders that contain music that I deleted. Of course, this might not be a problem but, after a while, it really bothers me if half of your content repository empty folders without files into it. It really prevents navigation.

BTW, when will there be a new version of firmware, the bugs should really attaches to the top.

There is no way to get the Clip to do it automatically.  To make it less tedious, you can use a tool such as:

  • Moving files/folders left behind empty folders

This had me crazy since I was first a Vista computer.  It does on each of them, 32 and 64-bit.  Updates are up to date and we are running SP2.

If I try to move a folder to a directory on the hard drive to another directory on the same hard drive, Vista often leaves behind empty folders.  This tends to happen more often when I finish by merge records.  However, it is a lot of your time to verify that all files were actually moved and then delete files.

I've seen a lot of this problem on the internet announcement, but I have yet to see a solution.

I can't reproduce your situation. I use Vista Home Premium.

I right click on the folder, I want > click on move to Foder in the context menu > navigate to the new location I want > click on move. The folder is moved. No folder empty left behind.

No chance that you opened the file and moved the items to the folder? If so, you'd have an empty folder left behind.

  • Empty folders

Don't know what section to put this in, so bear with me ^^

Sometimes, when you have programs on your computer, then uninstall... they sometimes leave behind their records. Even if you do not use a large program to uninstall ^^.

I thought I had once found a program on the computer to get rid of these empty folders, but I can't find it-.-. I hesitate on downloading anything to do so because although I like downloading things I dislike giving access unknown program in this area.

So, how can I delete these empty program files 'mass '? Thank you! ^_^

    Hello Jeania,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

Empty folders are mainly the result of a bad uninstall. Expect the uninstall to remove all instances of files, shortcuts and registry entries, but this isn't always the case. I've included three different 3rd party tools that you might want to consider to remove 'empty records. " You can also search the internet for others that may better meet your needs.

Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
