Equium A100 - list of compatible CD/DVD players

Hi all

This is my first post, so please bare with me.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 and the CD/DVD drive has developed a fault. It will not read any CD (empty or not) and I think it needs to be replaced.

The one I have in there is a Panasonic UJ-850. I tried the source one, but not with joy and so I was wondering if there are other brands that luckily accommodate Equium A100.

If anyone can be good enough to show up to a list of CD/DVD compatible readers for this particular model of Toshiba?

Thank you very much
Big Fella

Hello!

A list of readers that was delivered with the laptop is normally in the user manual. So the best way is, you choose a drive that is listened to in the user manual.
You can also search on eBay for a second hand car.

Here, a document of Toshiba on compatible players.

    Hello Angels3cma,

Thank you for posting.  It seems that you were doing data DVD discs.  To burn DVDs to be compatible with the DVD player, you will need to make DVD-video disc.  I have listed the steps below to make DVD-video disc in Windows DVD Maker.  These same steps are be typing "How to burn a movie on a DVD" in Help and Support found by pressing the button Start/Orb you Windows desktop.

    Burn a DVD-video disc

You can create DVDs quickly and easily using Windows DVD creation. You can add videos, photos and audio, make slide shows for your DVD, or add your Windows Movie Maker projects. Once you add files, you can burn your DVD with a single click, or, if you prefer, you can choose from several styles of menu and the slide show options to make your special DVD before you burn, or customize your DVD menus and write the DVD menu text yourself.

After you create a DVD, you can play the DVD on a DVD player and watch your movies and slide shows on TV. The following steps explain how to use creation of Windows DVD to burn a DVD.

    To open Windows DVD Maker

    • Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows DVD creation.

      Note

      • You can also open Windows DVD Maker by inserting a DVD recordable or rewritable Virgin in your DVD burner. When the AutoPlay dialog appears automatically, click on burn a DVD video disc using Windows DVD creation.

    1. On sharing your memories on a DVD page, click Choose photos and videos.

    2. Do one of the following on the Add pictures and video to the DVD page:

  • Portege A100 - problems recognizing a new DVD burner

    Hello

I'm looking to replace the Panasonic/Matsu * player UJDA750 combo with a LiteOn SOSW - 852S DVD burner. The LiteOn is CSEL and is not recognized by the Portege A100. I tried to change the master/slave/CSEL and Inverse CSEL using E2MS_WIN_SOSW - 852 S .exe (in an Acer Travelmate 220, which sees all configurations), but the Portege A100 still does not recognize LiteOn.

I ran IDEDIAG using a WinME boot CD and the Matsu * a Combo drive in Portege reports as secondary master. So, I tried flashing the drive LiteOn (using the Acer Travelmate platform) with MTKFlash version 183 c using the a command? "mtkflash 3 w/b PRS9.bin" (using the original firmware of saved), '3' to change the drive to the secondary master. I came across problems here - the flash appears to hang. The drive is always ok, however. I flashed it back to the original ok CSEL using E2MS program in Acer.

I have not tried bridging the pins 45 to 47 on the LiteOn - I thought maybe it was a last resort.
-Can help you with the correct configuration for a CD/DVD drive in the Portege A100? There are a bunch of different ones - primary, secondary, tertiary, Quarternary master/slave and CSEL and Inverse CSEL. Portege A100 'sees' the Matsu * a CDROM model CR-176_B of Acer.

Or - can you recommend me a DVD burner for this laptop?

    Hello

The evolution of the master/slave/c-salt settings is not recommended and tell the truth I put t know if its possible. I presume that it of not possible to Flash these settings on medium power.
In my opinion it doesn't make any sense to do.
This procedure may damage the drive. Maybe you will not be able to use this drive more and more you will void the warranty!

I think it s better to buy a compatible device and supported as trying to drive not compatible flash.

Did you check your user manual? Usually the user manual should provide information on compatible CD/DVD players and supported.

    Good bye

VDs that I burn with iDVD works on new DVD players, but not on older versions of the DVD player. Any suggestions?

I'm using an iMac with OS X El Capitan 10:11.1 and iDVD 7.1.2.

  • What DVD players are compatible with Equium A60 PSA67E?

my question; What dvd players are compatible for an equium a60 (psa67e-001001en)?

background; I did a very stupid thing! while I was at the Japan and about 18 months after buying my a60 in the United Kingdom, the packaged dvd player. I replaced it with a teac dvd player and it worked like a dream! I threw the old disk (I think it was a matsu * has, but can't remember the exact model). in any case, I came home and had a little time on my hands, so I decided to set my machine and corrupted the windows xp registry.

Now, windows xp runs in the loop, I can't access and I need to wipe the hard drive and start again essentially. I put the recovery disk in, but the computer doesn't read him and desperately wants his wacky way to windows. I believe that it is not recognizing the teac drive that I used to replace the old. I think that if I put an original return type, the firmware can recognize the drive and I'll be back in business... or so I hope!

of course, all the other tips would be welcome too! Thank you.

work around? PS a work around, I thought so... copy the contents of the diskette of recovery on a hard drive (using my old computer) can change the current hard drive in my a60 with it... theory; When the computer detects the content during the start-up, it will install xp on another part of this drive and I have a working machine once again. could - this something like this work? any thoughts?

  • Equium A100: CD/DVD drive wont read - D:\ error message is not accessible

    Hello.

My cd/dvd rw drive will not read certain DVD/CD-ROM. I bought my equium (A100 I think) laptop, nine less than a year ago and have had this problem since I got it. The disk which do not work on the laptop work fine on another pc / dvd players, if the disc is not defective. At first I thought that it would be a driver issue because some of the disc worked fine, so I never got the laptop back to the store I bought.

A message appears "D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error".

I recently just got internet installed in my house and I went to the toshiba site to see if there are newer drivers that would solve this problem. I downloaded a bios update and an update of dvd ram and installed, but am still having the same problem.

Can someone help me cause am totally stuck on what to do now.
    Thank you.

    Hello

As you have probably not known the CD/DVD drive support not all backgrounds.
In the user manual, you will find a list of supported CD and DVD

But I assume that you are the reader cannot read certain media because of the impure registry as this other thread mentioned:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=24203&MessageID=88868

Please check that the user holmdps has solved this same problem.

  • Satellite 1410-902: DVD players that are compatible?

My CD of Toshiba s1410-902 is broken and I would like to change to drive DVD or a DVD recorder. The problem is that not all CD/DVD IDE drives will work with this Toshiba. BIOS accepts only final pushes some of the manufacturers, but I don't know which.

Where can I find the list coplete copmatible for this model of Toshiba DVD players?

    Hello

You are absolutely right. Each car can not work with every Toshiba laptop. Unfortunately there are no public list on compatible players. I recommend you call service partner in your country and ask them. I presume that they have enough experience on the hardware upgrade.

Maybe you will be lucky and someone improved the same unit but if not call and ask the technicians.

  • DVD / disc not recognized Equium A100

I recently bought a laptop with Vista installed Equium. On my old pc (Windows XP Home edition), I supported a large number of pictures and files on a DVD disc with nero, when I try to load these on my laptop the drive is not recognized.

I have a lot of files on the other DVD, these are also not recognized, I would like to transfer these files on my laptop. Can anyone help this?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

As you have probably not known, not all CD or DVD is compatible with each drive.
This means that sometimes the medium cannot be recognized and the Player cannot read or write on CD or DVD.

In my knowledge in the manual, you should find a list of compatible DVD and CD.

PS: I use the TDK CD and DVD TDK. I m very satisfied

  • Equium A100-549: DVD & CD playback is slow and jerky

    Hello!
DVD and CD playback is jerky and slow (sound and image). This problem occurred out of the blue! One day was playing very well and the next, when we tried to play a DVD is a different problem. I put the other DVD that plays very well the night before, but without success - it wasn't the DVD in particular. I tried the audio CD I played before and to my disappointment the same problem. I ripped a CD on my laptop and it played very well - it is not the sound card. I used a lens cleaner, but it did not work.

I run Toshiba Diagnostics, no problem. I even scanned the HD and defrag, nothing - so I doubt there is a problem with Windows. Problem with two media players, windows one and the Nero one - is not due to lack of players. I drop the phone or hit him or spilled something on it. And this problem really happened from one day to the other. I had all the windows and driver updates two weeks before the problem occurred, by paying in the meantime several DVDs and a few CDs with no problems. What should I do?

Fortunately, the laptop is still under warranty, but I would prefer if there is a way to fix at home, because services of take time...

    Hello

I hope that your device to factory settings and not your own installation of the OS. You didn't write what CDs and DVDs you use, but I hope that use you the original one.

Before you play DVD movie try at first to end all unnecessary process and stop the antivirus application if you have one. RedHawk is just, but I'm sure that DMA setting is standard by factory settings.

I should try the following steps:

First, you must remove the drive from the Device Manager and restart the laptop. After you restart the operating system should recognize the new device (ODD) again.

Then, open the registry and delete the upper and lower filters of the key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Then reboot again.

Once these procedures please try again if the player works!
