  Not quite, but pretty close. Media Direct could not lock the boot sector. It must be a BIOS lock or a mechanism of protection provided by your antivirus software.  Given that, I would check your program settings then for all that prevents changes to the boot sector. • How to decrease the memory on the video card to a windows 2003 VM?

  I know that the graphics card by default in ESX memory is 4 MB. To solve a problem, I increased the memory on the video card 16 MB by adding 'svga.vramsize = 16777216' to the vmx file. That has worked well. Now, I want to put it to 8 MB, but once I modified the vmx file, I reboot the virtual machine after the reboot, the vmx file goes back to the value of 16 MB. Windows always shows 16 MB. If I remove the line entirely out of the vmx file, it should go back to the default of 4 MB, but it shows still 16 MB in the windows operating system. Can anyone help with this?
