I have windows xp and when I try to install sp3 I get a message saying "cannot read or write from database" and stops the installation.
How long the machine was not installed SP3?

d3dx9_43.dll is the latest DX 9 files.
The best method when you have not already updated DX is to use the DX Web Installer,.
then you can try using them.

I get the error "this operation requires an interactive window station" during the installation driver for a new (working) Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600. I tried to disable my Avast! anti-virus program entirely to restart my system in selective mode with only Windows running programs to install the keyboard. None worked.
The selective mode does not work. And Device Manager shows the device with the yellow triangle icon. With the code 28 error. "This operation requires an interactive window station.
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit)
Also the comfort curve keyboard 2000 from Microsoft that was previously used with this system can no longer install into any usb port. It only works in the USB port it was previously installed. I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 1505, that is running Windows XP Media Center Sp3. I'm doing a place in upgrading to Vista since the disks to upgrade Dell... Everything's fine until the 'Expansion of the files' [27%], then the installation fails with this message: "Windows could not update the configuration to start the computer. Installation cannot continue. Any changes made to your computer during the upgrade". I did a google search for a fix that involves changing a value in the registry in the HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E976-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} for example change the value to PartMgr Upperfilters. Unfortunately, this value was the default for my registry key changes could be made. Some other fixes involved the renaming of Upperfilter.bak, for Upperfilters unfortunately this .bak value does not exist in my registry.
I tried to boot from the disk of Vista and changing the msconfig for a selective startup but without result.

Not quite, but pretty close. Media Direct could not lock the boot sector. It must be a BIOS lock or a mechanism of protection provided by your antivirus software. Given that, I would check your program settings then for all that prevents changes to the boot sector. You may find more easy just uninstall it and reinstall it after the upgrade. I have recently upgraded to an SSD and a new drive hard on my PC and thought, everything was going well until I started to reinstall and update my old programs, where I keep coming across mistakes BEX I can't work around with my computer DEP settings. When I try, I get an error message stating, "this program must run with Data Execution Prevention (DEP) enabled. You can't turn off DEP for this program.
Is it possible that I can get around this error in order to update my programs, or am I stuck with the ever-growing list programs I can is no longer updated accordingly?
