Installation of xp and blue screen of death
Hello
I recently formatted the partition boot and recovery of a laptop Medion2230, then merged the two partitions in a single NTFS partition. Don't ask why, it's a long story.
Then, tried to install a new copy of Windows XP Home. Everything is OK until the final phase, when the "Blue Screen of death" appeared during the installation of the drivers. Restarted and installing XP as normal to repeat the first onboard staged and went to the "blue screen" at the same point as before.
Using some diagnostic software, I reformatted the drive again, loaded XP set up and I had the same problem.
Someone knows what to do?
Thank you allionii123
Now solved and pc with Windows XP home.
Discovered a trick online, who said that at the beginning of XP installation, press F5, and this leads to a screen option - select 'standard pc' and continue with the installation of XP.
(Again), formatted hard drive ran XP installation and followed above point.
Worked the first time.
Thank you very much for your advice.
I think you can pressing F5 or F7...
How to impose a layer of HAL during an upgrade or an installation of Windows XP
Impose a HAL
To prevent Windows XP to automatically determine the system HAL during the upgrade or installation of Windows XP, you can manually force in a system HAL. To impose an Abstraction Layer HAL during a upgrade or installation of Windows XP, follow these steps:
- During the phase in text mode of Setup, when you receive the message at the bottom of the screen, press F5:Press F6 if you need to install a third-party RAID or SCSI driver.
Note If you press F7, the Standard PC HAL loads and the ACPI enforcement is bypassed.
I would not need this except in the systems of many older and low end... :-( After all, in the same article, for Standard PC they say: "the CPU can be a 386, 486, Pentium, Pentium II, or Pentium III '...
Thanks for letting us know what you were doing. Do you have all the necessary drivers after loading Windows XP? I would not recommend using the default drivers for any hardware - always see what the manufacturer offers on their web page for each component of your system - card motherboard chipset, audio, video, network devices, etc.
- During the phase in text mode of Setup, when you receive the message at the bottom of the screen, press F5:

Trying to set up a network with windows 7 Home premium
I'm trying to set up a network on windows 7 Home premium, but could not find this secpol.msc. I read the posts on the guy with vista home premium and similar problems. I tried the advice given to him:
Open regedit and locate the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contrl\Lsa\LmCompatibilityLevelSet this value to 1 (is default on 3) "send LM and NTLM".
See the Q823659 knowledge baseI got in the case of the LSA and found no LmCompatibiltyLevel, he was not in the file or it contained a folder with that name.
I also read a post from someone about windows 7 as follows:
On Windows 7 Home Premium, secpol.msc or this registry key is set. However if you add a new key named LmCompatibilityLevel DWORD value at the specified location and the value of '1' it seems to work to allow
"Use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated".HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\LmCompatibilityLevel
But my problem I do not know what he meant by 'DWORD '.If someone could help with this problem, it would be great.http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7network/threads

I'm trying to install CIV III complete on Windows 7, but when I get to disk 3, I get this message below and the installation fails. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Hello
You are logged as administrator?
Method 1:
I suggest you perform the clean boot and check.
Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After troubleshooting, make sure the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.
Method 2:
I suggest you to follow the steps and check.
1 double-click on "My Computer" on your desktop.
2. click on the drive where you want to install the package. This is usually your drive "C:\". ». Choose "Properties".
3. click on the security"" tab.
4. click on the ' Add ' button.
5. click on 'SYSTEM' under 'name '. Click on 'Add' and 'OK '.
6. check "Allow" next to "Full control" under the heading "permissions."
7. click on "Advanced".
8. check "Replace entries permission on all child objects with the entries displayed here and that apply to child objects" If you are using Windows XP. Click on 'OK '. Check 'reset permissions on all child objects and enable propagation of permissions inheritable' If you use other versions of Windows. Click on 'OK '.
9. click 'Yes' when prompted.
10. double-click on the installation package that was previously generating the error. You won't have any problems with it.

Activate Windows 7: Home Premium on professional product key - please help!
Hello worldI hope you can help me!I have a product key for Windows 7 Home Premium. I downloaded it online when I bought it so that I never received a disc to reformat. Someone at work gave me their CD to reformat. After you reformat and reinstall ALL my programs, I went to activate Windows 7 again. Guess what? Turns out that I used Windows 7 Professional to reformat.Really, I don't want to go through reformatting and reinstalling everything and don't even know if I'll be able to get my hands on a CD to reformat Windows 7 Home Premium. Is there anyway can I still activate my product key for Windows 7 Home Premium Windows 7 Professional? In any case I can exchange my Home Premium product key to a professional one? I love how my computer is currently configured and won't do anything else that just activate my legitimate version of Windows 7!Thank you all in advance for your time.RamonThe only way to do it would be to buy a license for Pro-
Since you have already apparently a licnese to Home Premium, you could buy an upgrade, and then create a repair install with the new key.
If you bought a full Pro license, you will be able simply to insert your new key and activate that.

The Adobe Connect Add-in crashes when I try to share the screen (office) in Windows Vista Home Premium (32 - bit) Service Pack 2. I get the error message with the title "Adobe Connect Add-in has stopped working". The message said: "a problem caused blocking the program works correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. "The only button I can click on is"close the program ". I made sure that the screen resolution is a multiple of 16 ("1280 by 768 pixels"), as this article says. I use Adobe Connect 9 with the 'named price model host. Does anyone have the solution to this problem? Thank you.
Do not know what could cause the problem, but Vista is not an operating system, for what it's worth.
Acrobat Connect Pro data sheet
I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the Flash Player and see if it helps Uninstall Flash Player | Windows.
It looks like not the resolution of the screen is the problem, as you mentioned, it should be something else. I would also recommend that you check your video drivers to see if there is an update, because who could help.
