  • How can I disable Windows security alerts?

I'm giving 2 computers as birthday presents for 2 young grandchildren to use for word processing and printing only.  They both taught by their parents that they will never be able to have computers in their bedrooms connected to the Internet.   Both computers are running Windows XP Pro version 2002 with Service Pack 3 OS.  It's annoying to have the pop-up WARNING "is your computer may be in danger..." "whenever a computer is started, especially since the closure of the message not always keep it to appear again.  Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

    Hi demckay7,

If you do not have to connect to the computer with the internet or any other devices that can infect computers, you can disable the security temporarily alert.

For more information, see: How to disable Security Center alerts

However, I recommend you to install security software on your computer andmake sure that you update the anti-virus software frequently so that it works correctly.

You can also download & install Microsoft Security Essentials on your machine.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

Hello. I noticed that no new updates have been installed on my computer (with the exception of all updates for Windows Defender but also the recent Microsoft .NET Framework Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework family updates). Everything else, like security updates, have failed since January 13, 2009. I saw someone else who has had this problem for 9 months. The error code is 8E5E0147. Wndows update download and try to install the updates. However, once completed, it says "failed". I worry because my computer is not updated for April fool virus. Can I get any help here? I heard people say that maybe I need to ask a Windows installation CD.

Thank you, Martin. The thing is that my .NET and service packs would have to install. Don't forget that my problem was not downloaded from the update, but the installation. I think I found the answer. My Norton Internet security and Antivirus had expired. When I got Windows security updates, I had no program to receive these updates. I renewed my subscription, and everything worked. It has not been easy. However. I had to keep doing updates on Norton security until I received the message "no new updates were found" after that, I got all the new definitions and update of WIndows was allowed to install thanks to the new KB for your help.

  • How can I disable windows security as it is clashing with my AVG program

my computer freezes constantly and very very slow, it's a Toshiba satellite laptop and the only thing I can think is that my AVG (which I really like) is in conflict with the Windows Security Center.   I looked everywhere to try and disconnect the windows one or just turn it off, but have had no success.  I hope someone out there can help please.

This isn't probably what is causing the problems. ;-)

(Both analysis) FULL scans for malwareMalwareBytes - FREE and SuperAntiSpyware - FREE; Assuming that the AVG Free: uninstall and download/install the latest version of it.

Update the drivers for hardware from Toshiba.

See what everything starts up with the machine / with your connection using AutoRuns.

    Check your readers errors...

    Defragment your disks...

  • Permanently disabled, Windows Security Center cannot be re-enabled or restarted.

So I opened a file (like a fool) obvious malware and there is the Windows Security Center will be automatically disabled. Reactivation and restarting via the menu of Services only solves the problem for a minute or two, after which I get an Action Center message informing me that the Security Center is disabled later. I ran full scans with Malwarebytes and AVG Free, which neither identify all threats. Spybot S & D seems to identify that Security Center is not running, but "fixing" with S & D only reactive and restarts the service, after which it is invalid promptly thereafter. Can anyone help?

The fact that you can re-enable and restart the service and then see off again (if I understand correctly your information) is a strong indication that there is still an active infection on your computer (as opposed to the impossibility for the throw at all which is often the result of inflicted malware corrupted registry).

Use the Windows Firewall and BFE (base filtering engine)?

I recommend that you run the following tools in more malwarebytes and AVG.

  • Microsoft disabled Windows Security Center

Good afternoon, Forum: I'm at my wit's end. I am also to have a similar problem to Dan I installed 360 Norton, Zone Alarm, Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy. None of these programs seem to see this problem, with the exception of Spybot. He told me that this is a problem and "I want to fix it?

Of course, I chose to 'indicate', but 5 minutes later, I go to Google and search for something (anything) and there just that my browser is to go there? Need me somewhere else, (for a cheap white and green site), where it is advertising. As he does this, I notice that the top of my screen saids: "Redirection". Help! How can I get rid of this problem? (The programs above all agree and don't clash with each other.) But they do nothing to get rid of this problem. Thank you. Sarakali

Hello can someone tell me what this means? James > the connection to the server has failed. Account: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy *', server: 'mail.bigpond.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10013, error number: 0x800CCC0E

You use Windows Mail? It could be a number of things.

    • Modem or router - reset both.
    • Server problem possible they need to solve.
    • Analysis of e-mail messages. Very likely.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
