  It seems your preferences and cache files have not all permissions. There are two things you can do to solve this problem:

  1. provide full access to the preferences and cache of InDesign files, more information on ERROR when you try to launch

  I recently changed to use AVG free Antivirus Vista 2010 edition and since then (next day) seems to be locked out almost everything on the computer other then IE.  Open any kind of .exe translates into "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.
