IM reading on the esxi installation and it talks about the vi client download to control esxi. I can't seem to find a client to download vi or the cost of it for the trial period, he mentioned... Please point me in the right direction

ESXi and local RAID 1 - do not know if it works

I have setup a RAID 1 (2 discs) on my box of ESXi. Now I loaded ESXi and registered in with the vSphere client. In "The memory", is to show both of these drives. Should it only showing a?
I thought that ESXi should see 'one' in the car for me to put on.and data warehouses, then the RAID controller would just reflect. But when I try to create a data store, it allows me to opt for the second time either of these discs on first, then the other drive. Is this job right? This doesn't seem to be just if I can just add warehouses of data on each disk individually.

which means that you are not using the controller RAID HRDWARE and using your software RAID. in esxi software RAID is not supported

I am new to ESXi and SAN, then I need help for her.
I have Encolosure C7000 system with 4 blades BL460c already installed ESXi 5.1U1 (HP custome ISO image). Everything works fine now, but I do not understand something:
-What is the management network which I use vSphare Client to connect to? It is a private network to manage ESXi servers what difference with VMnetwork used by Virtual Machines? Because I've set up an IP address for this connection manually, but it is of course separate with IP addresses, I used on Virtual Machines.
-If my system has problem, so I have to reinstall ESXi, license keys can be used again? Already, I have 8 license key for 4 blades (2 CPUs per server), but they have not yet used. Because I am new to ESXi, cause I had to reinstall ESXi several times to understand.
-When I install successful ESXi, I don't know how to start working with SAN. What should I configure P2000 before it be plugged into the SAN switch? Or I can plug it then config later? I thought that this guest operating system will detect the mezzanine card. To my knowledge, I think that ESXi server have to detect the P2000 as hardware device. Can someone teach me step by step install and configure a San on ESXi? Yes, it's a separate network used only for traffic management between ESXi hosts and vCenter - it is also the network used to connect to the environment - that's different, then the network used by your virtual machines

Yes the license keys can be reused, and if you use vCenter licenses will be managed by vCenter

Yes, you will be able to configure the San later - by default, the virtual machine will not see the SAn, as it is virtualized by your ESXi host - all the VM will see is a virtual SCSi disk - this doc's guide to vmware for storage - http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-51/topic/com.vmware.ICbase/PDF/vsphere-esxi-vcenter-server-511-storage-guide.pdf - you can visit the website of HP they might have documentation on configuring P2000 for vSphere -.

4 ESXi and VMware vSphere CLI

I can't start a discussion in the community CLI to I write here.
When I try to use the CLI tools to manage a few shots on an ESXi 4 Server I get strange errors.

The operation using 'list' works very well but not create or delete.
No idea why it does not work for a 4.0 host but is ideal for a 3.5?

The reason why it worked for you on ESXi 3.5 is probably the version you were using was U2 or U3 where the VI API has an internal bug that allowed two full read/write access, which allows you to perform operations such as switching to a virtual computer or take a snapshot. Go ESXi 3.5u4 +, which includes 4.0 moving forward, the API VI is read-only. You still have a few options, either unlock the console SSH not supported to automate snapshots using vimsh vim - cmd wrapper, using the VI Client or use VMware VIX and vmrun which currently is not governed by the VI API, take a look here for more information: is not happy with lockdown 3.5u4 VI API/RCLI ESXi? Worry not, VMware VIX to the rescue... for now =)

ESXi free VI Client?

I'm blind, or not there at - there no possible way to manage ESXi without the Client to Infrastructure VI?

You can use the VI Client but you have also a few more options:

Unfortunately, the caveat to use these tools require that you use at least the license to the Foundation to be able to have full read/write access to the VI API as explained here:

If you are using ESXi 3.5u2/u3, so these tools will still work because the bug is not fixed until recently in ESXi 3.5u4

You also have a 4th option to use VMware VIX, this API allows the VM management, but will not give you the full breath of guests like the vCLI/PowerCLI management, take a look at this thread for more information: http://communities.vmware.com//message/1230459#1230459

In the end, if you are a license you will have a wide range of options, but if you use the free version of ESXi, then your only option is the use of the VI Client or using the SSH does not support console which is not recommended.

Svchost.exe with service Client DHCP [Dhcp] and DNS Client [DNScache] high memory use

I'm using Windows 2003 standard Server SP 2 found problem svchost.exe run service Client DHCP [DHCP] and DNS Client [DNScache]
use a lot around 2 GB of memory. Virus scan try and Hijackthis is not found. I try to restart memory return service.

I have 4 servers and the same symptoms.

Is no DHCP clients table not no matter what resolution of names. The only goal is to show you the leases DHCP that has the DHCP server on the active router. The customer table DHCP doesn't even tell you whether or not the device in the list is always online.

Resolution of names within a LAN always happens with NetBIOS. If C1 is the host name of the web server inside your local network and no active firewall cripple NetBIOS http://C1/ mechanisms need to connect to the web server on C1 to port 80.

VTP (revision numbers) and a client not getting updates

I screwed up somewhere along the line one of our switches (3750 x). Once they have been set up at last about 6 months ago we have never touched them again.

I noticed yesterday when I created a new vlan was not get populated at one of our switches. For some reason, I didn't notice that the domain name on the switch are not updates was not our area.

So I switched the domain on this switch for the appropriate field and he still shows no updates and also has a revision # 7.

So now this switch I then unplugged all the ports in the trunk and not "transparent" vtp mode Then, I turned it to "vtp client mode vlan.
He has always shown the revision 7.

So I tried 'false vtp domain' and 'transparent vtp mode' and then 'vtp domain mydomain' and ' vtp client mode vlan.

VPN PPTP and PPPOE CLIENT ON PIX 501

Can I create a PPTP VPN and a client connection on a PIX 501 with a client to my ISP PPPOE connection. The PPPOE ip is dynamic and the VPN will be a static IP address. They gave me a username and password for VPN and PPPOE. Him also gave me an ip address for the VPN server.

Maybe it's a simple qeustion, and I also know it can be done on a SAA.

But is it possible to have ipsec-l2l tunnels and external client ipsec VPN on the same interface on a router? If so someone can give me a link on how to do it because I can't find 1.
