  I believe that the error is to tell you that you can not migrate an eval version to a production version.  I suspect that you will have to wipe and install

  The license is not an evaluation license.  EVAL in the image of production not supported.  It stops immediately.

• vCenter 5.5 evaluation licenses expire before the 60 day period Eval

  I recently downloaded the vSphere, ESXi 5.5 ISO assessment the Client vSphere and vCenter Server .exe file 5.5.0b and ISO modules.  I was able to install ESXi on my HP Proliant DL360 G5 server in my lab at home without any problems.  I was also able to install vSphere Client.exe on my computer of client without any problems. Via vSphere Client, I was able to connect to my ESXi host and create VMs towing without problem. At this point, I am able to access the host and two virtual machines by using the client vSphere with no problems.

  I then install the vCenter Server on a virtual machine, I then use the vSphere Web Client to connect to vCenter without any problem.  I then create a data center with the Web Client without any problems.

  My problems begin when I try to add the host and two virtual machines I get a message saying that the licenses are expired and so I can't add my host to vCenter.  I don't understand why vCenter isn't allowing me to add the host because of the license, because I thought that evaluation licenses are good for 60 days. I just installed the vCenter server today and should have at least 50 more a few days before its expiration date.

  I go through the process of adding a new host, I can see where the discoverers of customer Web host, but it is not added to the Web Client of stocks due to the problem of the license has expired.

  Anyone have an idea how I can solve this problem.  Thank you very much.

• vCenter Server Evaluation license questions

  I just downloaded and installed vCenter Server assessment. When I log on to the server vCenter via vSphere client and you try to add the host and the vm I get the message that my evaluation license has expired, but according to vMware he does not expire until December 2011.

  I checked the host for the configuration of the date and time, and that's okay.

  If it helps, I host esxi5 installed on a server and have created two esxi5 vm as well as three windows vm operating system.

  The host usually has a Date in the past after installation. If you had a wrong date on the host to the (first) initial priming the vCenter device start-up of the device with the wrong date "BIOS" of the host. after correction of the Date do not help the license number of the trial of fixation.

  Conclusion: delete the vCenter device, check the Date and time of the ESXi host setting and deploy the vCenter device again. If now the device starts the first time the 60-day trial works as expected.

  Hello community VMware,

  I'm testing the new ESX 4 and demeanour HA (2 node cluster). I have trouble with vmware HA - VM not to switch (failover) to another ESX server in a cluster.

  My environment:

  hostA, hostB: 2 x ProLiant DL580 G5, each with Xeon of Intel (r) CPU X 7460 @ 2 .66GHz with 32 GB of ram

  1 x storage - HP shared EVA - two servers see this shared storage

  customer: 1 x (installed on vSphere) (client) standalone windows machine

  ESX 4 - evaluation version (on the way business licenses)

  3 servers are on the same NWs I use vSpehre on the client in order to manage the two ESX servers.  I clustered them (HA has been configured, the default values have been assigned). I have two test VMs (windows 2003) within the cluster. I tested VMotion - perfectly worked - I was able to move virtual machines from hostA to host b, and vice versa.

  Problem is that when I reboot hostA or host b (in order to test the failover) - no failover occurs. I see hostA in State "not responding", VM is in the disconnected state.  First time I tried this (after cluster configuration), I had no errors on the console. Second time I tried this I got an error of not enough resources to satisfy HA failover. I checked the HA configuration:

  Configured with failover capacity: 1

  Machine VM has only 1024 MB configured (not set limits) and it is located on the shared storage (lun 20GB, 5 GB is allocated for the system).  I've tried several things (reconfigure cluster again, clear admission control, registered between ESX/vShpere DNS, checked if I have a VMware HA between the characteristics of the license,...) - nothing helped.

  I am King of stuck here and you would be grateful and tricks that I missed (probably).

  Yes, they would stop working.

  Note: when you add licenses a reboot is required. Even if the number of supported the HA increases on reset controller is always necessary for these devices to register on the controller under the permanent license. I once added licenses and when I saw the number of the AP increase - I experimented with the restart - and when evaluating lic. expiration of my AP dropped the controller.

  Regarding your question on evaluation licenses, they are free and without expiry date of the licences. A single WC7600 can manage a total of 50 points of access, see the following license information:

  Update 10 - incremental AP - WC10APL-10000 s

  50 - AP incremental update - WC50APL-10000 s

• LabVIEW license diverted from 30 days trial license

  The other day, I bought and installed a NI Developer suite and registered the product through the internet. When I run Labview to edit the screws I can see the following screen indicating that my Labview is allowed for ever.

  

  But after a few weeks, around to my surprise my Labview somehow turned into a 30-day evaluation license. I waited up to 30 days and my really expired Labview the 31st day and I can't use Labview more! I remember I registered Labview on the net and got the screen above, if the mechanic look beside me. I registered again with a different method by calling provider National Instrument and gave the seller my PC number and he gave a long key for me to type.

  I'm still a little afraid that this type of incident can happen again, because I gave the client PC with Labview still in the PC and an exe (not the Setup file) that the client uses to connect its data. I'm worried that a few weeks later Labview can expire suddenly, and the customer could not run the exe file.

  So did you guys knew any incident like this? What was the problem? Lost something in the first record with the net? Thank you.

  You must register the development environment. Applications of build exe will launch without a license as long as you do not have any special module included as Vision. Vision system, you need a special run-time license.

  I have never seen this for LV up to 8.6. LV 2009 is not long installed to reach the limit of 30 days.

  I recently discovered this Suite of LabView developers that I thougt was a complete development & deployment platform is not:

  Since I had chosen to use the feature of DSC Modbus, I need more, the SDC Runtime apprantly on my development system, both on the PC where the system will be deployed.

  As bad as this is, I think it's more frustrating to know how these licenses should be handled.

  Our client is a precast concrete Production plant which is not used to problems of installation and software license management.

  In addition, the PC obviously isn't online on the internet: it is a gross production environment.

  I'll build a full installation package so that the customer can install the full software on the PC in a few easy steps.

  I thougt LabView has been up to the task, but I'm wondering now if this is the case.

  My questions are:

  1. The SDC Runtime license must be enabled on the client PC?
  2. If so, how is the activated license when the PC has no internet connection?
  3. SCP die quite frequently in these harsh environments, and the customer must be able to quickly install my software on a new PC to maintain current production of execution!
     1. Can the customer reinstall my software on a new PC hassle license Runtime DSC?
     2. What are the exact steps to do this?

  The installation went as usual, but the active license is always the evaluation license.

  Is there a way to activate the permanent license? I already rebooted the device.

  If you really want to change the priority before then, you can use "license change low priority SSL_VPN" at the command prompt preferred to reduce the priority of low evaluation license, making it the active permanent license.
