  We have developed a few EventHandlers that triggers events RoleUser (MODIFY, CREATE, DELETE). An eventHandler does the following:
  -Gets the role that have been added to a user
  -Detects the role information
  -Updates the user with the role to some UDF information

  This feature works fine on its own when only an EventHandler is defined - there is not when having several of the handlers defined in the same time. This seems very strange for us, as some features do not work when this unfortunate error occurs.

  Newspapers are populated and APPARENTLY the IOM user is updated (populated UDF and our own newspapers and oracle logs shows that the user object is updated [using the UserManager]), but when you look in the database, nothing happens. No update after all the UDF. It's quite strange and we do not quite understand the EventHandlers point if they cannot live together like that...

  Anyone who has experienced similar problems? Its quite frustrating and chasing a fake bug as it's pretty boring.

  This has been resolved now. It seems to be related to this Bug:

  As indicated in the bug, a new orchestration runs and causing the initial EventHandler that triggered, say UserManager.modify (), to stall PENDING - even if there is nothing to be waiting on. The fix pertains to adding the following lines of code:

• This new - TypeError: Error #1010: a term is undefined and has no properties

  Hi all I know that there are several threads on this.  I have a file with three frames: frame 1 is a main menu with buttons linking to frame 2 (an English menu) or in a frame 3 (a french).

  Within each sub menu is a code that loads various external swf.  Whenever the playhead passes these submenus in frames 2 or 3, I get the following output error.

  TypeError: Error #1010: a term is undefined and has no properties.

  at LungCancer_index_fla::English_mc_14/frame1()

  or

  TypeError: Error #1010: a term is undefined and has no properties.

  at LungCancer_index_fla::French_mc_21/frame1()

  If its going to the French menu.

  I do not understand what the 14 or the _21 is, beside the French_ or English_mc

  Otherwise, the file works just fine and I'm tempted to just ignore the error but I would still like to know.

  Go to your settings Flash publish and select the option to enable debugging.  Then tun the file so that the errors occur again.  If lucky the error message includes a number line just after the frame number.

• Error 1010 / / buttons do not work

  I know AS2 and finally convert to AS3 now following a book. My code is exactly like that in the book and everything in my library (buttons, movieclips) are coupled correctly, but I get the same error 1010 that a term is undefined and has no properties. I want to know if I'm stupid (I hope not), or if the book is out of date. I hope someone can help. I put a picture of what my property, together with the code below.

  You should go in your publication of Flash settings and select the option to enable debugging.  Which can improve your error messages to include the line numbers for the offending code.

  What I see, I suspect that you're bad coding the names of the buttons inside the instance of StartPage.  The names HillButton and PondButton are the names of classes based on what your image library shows, they are not the instance names... at least I hope so that they are not.

  Hi everyone, I am trying to set up an event handler to preprocess to automate email and user connection when I click on "create a user".
  
  I mean when I want to create a new user, I want to just fill the first name, last name, organization and type and this preprocess will automatically fill the emails and the login of the user fields. I don't know if it is possible or not with an event handler?

  Hi all

  I have a drop down list with 7 options. The menu is a clip with a mask that reveals to each buttons when a person mouse_overs touch menu. Each option of the menu does the same thing, it calls a function based on the clicked button. The function of each button does the same thing:

  Each function will change the value of its variable Boolean respecive. One for each button. Its CAP is a function that stops all sounds FLV which is currently playing.

  When it goes through play() it will come to a particular framework that presents:

  This function determines what boolean is set to true and made a gotoAndPlay ("name") based on the Boolean value that has been set to true. Then sets the Boolean back to false.

  Being able to focus on it, I see that I have IndexMC.TBDL instead of IndexMC.TDBL, I think it was one of those "leaning on this thing for too long errors." Thank you for looking into it, the problem is now resolved. In regard to the error pointing to a line that does not exist:

  From what I remember, the text of the xml is extracted as a method rather than a property...

  Flash is the first language that I have chosen, so I'm still new to the process. If you could tell me how to avoid this problem in the future, I would appreciate it. If you could show me the new scrippting without it acting as a crutch for me, that would be appreciated also.

  The only way you'd get it if you do not have hillButton defined in your clip to the startPage.

  Note: xml.status [num].user.statuses_count is 21, however when the flash I tried to retrieve the last State, which is number 21, it crashes with error #1010. Why he won't get the latest status? But when xml.status [num].user.statuses_count is equal to 20, it will retrieve all the 20 situation, including the latest status without error.   Like I said, your results can be limited to these sites. For example wordpress WHAT FEED generally send only 10 flow. The fact that you get exactly 20 RSS (0-19 = 20) tells me that Twitter is likely to limit what he sends you.

  It is possible that you have lack of naming or misnamed the button inside the movieclip.  Just to be sure that the main page exists at this time in your code, use a front track of this line of code... you can also check for the button in this trace...

• Error #1010 on a dynamic array of labels?

  I want to create an array of words labels also created dynamically which act like buttons (ie. they are plain text, but are clickable and will highlight the passage of the mouse).  This method works (using names like "word1' 'word2 '... ("' wordN" as the index) for the insertion of the word in a BorderContainer... labels so the table seems to be OK. However, when I go on mouseover, I get TypeError: Error #1010: a term is undefined and has no property.

  Rather enigmatic. This term is undefined and has no properties? I'm assuming I could self-reference events triggering element using 'this'... that is the problem? Do not know why the label can be added as a child element OK, but when I try to access one of the labels in the table, it gives "indefinite term and has no property '...

  Perhaps. If this code is in MyApp.mxml (and not in a or , then "it" is a reference to the instance of MyApp.) The object that sent the event's event.target.

  Hi all, I am completely new to AS3 and Flash in general, but because of a project here at work, I decided to venture into creating a site. I imported a Photoshop file in the scene and created the buttons on some topics. I need to bind the headers of the PDF files when they are clicked, but when I wrote the code (actually in different formats) I get the following error message (while allowing to debug):

  Whatever the line is line 9 of your code has a problem.  If this is the last line, the chances are you have not named your daniels_btn inside the text object, or it is not named in the first image in the text.
