  Right click on an empty area on the desktop and choose "sort by" and uncheck the option "auto arrange".

  Also note that Windows will move your icons if you switch to a different monitor/TV or plug in or unplug a monitor.  It does if the monitors have different numbers of pixels, so no icon is set up out of sight.

  Did you the latest changes on the system?

  Script error messages are displayed by Internet Explorer when there is a problem with the JavaScript or VBScript code on the Web site you are looking at.

  If the problem occurs when you try to print by using Internet Explorer, you can try the following steps and check.

  Method 1:

  a. click Start. Click run and type inetcpl.cpl , and then press on enter.

  b. click on the Advanced button. Go down to the Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer). Click inside the box to put a check mark in it.

  c. get off the box that says disable a notification of every script error. Click inside the box to remove the check mark.

  d. click apply and click the OK button. Restart Internet Explorer to check the issue.

• Using a HD and a TV, Wont hold icons where I put them

  Im running Vista, I am allso using a 22' Tv and monitor my Tv as my main monitor I keep my icons and the bar on the 2nd (Ary) monitor so I can watch tv, movies and play games on the HD monitor/Tv...   Try to change the registry value for the registry key below mentioned and check if this may help.

  If Windows media center is open, close it and then try the following steps.

  a. Click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

  b. navigate to the

  In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TMM\

  (c) in the right side of the screen click on the right button UseIViewHelper

  d. set the value of the "UseIViewHelper" value to 0 (from 1 to 0 (c)

  e. exit the registry editor and restart the computer and check.

  Important: The above mentioned steps show you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

  I always use Nero or Roxio software, but Windows XP it has a function limited to do so.  First of all, if you must make sure that the drive you purchased is able to WRITE on the discs.  The vast majority are, but you should check that first.  Normally Windows will find the right driver for the latter and load it, but you can check the Device Manager to see.  XP if the memories are good, you click on Start-> support-> Device Manager.  Locate the entry of CD/DVD.  If there is none? or! next to him, you have the right driver.  Also, if your device came with a driver, it is another indication that you probably don't have something special for her.  Then, you will need to check to see what type of disc you have.  Many external DVD/CD players will read and write CD but not write DVD.  There are CDs CD - r and CD - RW.  CD - RW is to be formatted, but normally you don't format CD - r.  You just need to copy and paste to, click the disk, and then open Windows Explorer, on the drive, and you should see something like a list of files waiting to be burned to a disc.  Should be a button there to burn.

  Now, let me propose an alternative.  An external hard drive is much better for purposes of backup CDs.  You can buy 500 GB for $70, and 1,5 to ones for about $ these days $100.  You can also buy flash drives.  You can get a 16 GB one for $10.  These would be at least 1600 pictures.  You can also buy 32 GB for $20 flash drives.

  Make sure the settings are as the other poster said.

  This could happen if the Explorer doesn't correctly. The positions of icons are saved at the stop.

  As an experience shutdown shut down Windows Explorer.

  • Create and position a file on the desktop.
  • Close Windows Explorer
  • Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator.
  • Click Start. Ctrl + Shift + Right-click on an empty spot (just above the power of buttons is one place) then Exit Explorer.
  • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete then Task Manager.
  • Control all processes to explore are closed. On the process tab see if Explorer is displayed.
   
  Then to restart Explorer
  • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and choose Task Manager
  • In the Task Manager, click the file menu and then click new task (run) and enter explorer

• When I try and play a video or a dvd from my computer crashes.

  When I try and play a video or dvd my computer crashes and I have to close, a blue box appears in the upper right corner, saying: I have new applications that can open this type of file, but not how to use them or what they are called or where to find them.

  I down loaded VLC media player but it also refuses to play video clips and DVD and locks the computer as well.

  I don't know much about computers just how to use it for what I need, any help will be appreciated.
