Just updated to FF 3.6.23. Running on Vista Business Premium. Now, whenever FF navigates to a new page, it displays this error message: "Exc in ev handl: error: Bad NPObject as private data!" with a button to be clicked before the page OK takes over. ALL PAGES.
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions

In the last few days I've been doing the following popup when I use firefox as my browser: Exc in ev handl: error: Bad NPObject as private data!
I guess it comes from your last update. I have windows vista with a 64-bit processor, and I use the latest version of firefox. I checked to see if I was getting the same error message with explore and I'm not. It seems to be some sort of conflict with java script. This can be corrected?
You have to remove and re - install anything. I had the same problem and simply disabled the McAfee Siteadvisor module without deleting. I then restarted Firefox and the problem was solved.
But here's the important part: I reactivated the add-on and then restarted Firefox twice. The problem is not returned!
Just so disable, reboot, re-enable and restart. It worked for me!

What is: Exc in ev handl: error: Bad NPObject as private data! ?
When I "click" to follow a link in an email from a TRUSTED SITE, with whom I had an important interaction, I get this 'box' with the statement. I have to keep ' by clicking on ' 'okay' before I can move forward. And what the HELL is not upgraded to 8.0 my dangerous current Firefox? This company is unable to provide security for their own product? FORCING ME TO KEEP THE UPGRADE LEAVES THE MAJORITY OF APPLICATIONS COMPLETELY USELESS!
Upgrade your browser to Irefox 8 and check

It appears randomly and sometimes within minutes of each other or to the right after I click 'Ok '. Today, this started when first turned on my computer this evening. What should I do to stop it?

When I try to go to or near almost all of the web sites. The message appears at least twice. This happened since I upgraded to 6.0.1 (I did my previous version was crashing every 30 seconds or more!)
While I can still do what I have to it is more tedious and boring.
Someone has an idea?It might be McAfee Site Advisor.

Firefox does not start and this message keeps coming back... I uninstalled and reinstalled... but nothing helped...
EXC in ev handl: error: error definition property on NPObject!
Disable the extension "McAfee Site Advisor" who has just updated 3.4.0 that probably out of block of addons list.
- 'Ctrl + Shift + A' > find McAfee Site Advisor and use 'Disable', and then restart Firefox.
- Do a Google search without problem
- It seems that if you re - enable new Site Advisor and restart Firefox you agree. At least you know where to look if you get the error again, or research on Google to slow down.

In addition to the above pop-up message, sometimes I get the following:
[JavaScript application]
EXC in ev handl: error: Bad NPObject as private data! These pop - ups prevent me from doing anything on the computer until I close the window pop up, which is sometimes quite difficult.
Do you use the McAfee Site Advisor? It caused this message. Disable tab of the Add-ons Manager > Extensions until McAfee can fix it.

Just recently, I receive the following error message when you try to access the web sites. I use Firefox browser version 10.0.2. I get a pop-up window indicating "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: c.location is null" as the web site page is displayed in the browser winder. So, I have to click ok. Any link/website I go to what happens. There is a problem with some plugin?
It is only a problem for the SiteAdvisor users who are still on 3.4. This problem is resolved in the latest version of SiteAdvisor, which is 3.4.1.195. Go to http://siteadvisor.com and click on download. This will fix the problem.
Meanwhile, SiteAdvisor team will push down a JS update in the coming days 1-2 to automatically resolve this problem in version 3.4.

Why! bold textAdd-ons are the responsibility of their authors. McAfee does not yet have their extension on http://addons.mozilla.org that you had to install from their site.

In practice, how do you handle errors?
This issue arises out of a project I've been working on a database. Customers pull a work from a database, run it, and then post the results in the database. I have a prototype that does well enough, with the exception of a few questions (which can be written in chalk upward at the bad design).
The first concerns the race conditions: when a customer takes a job from the database, it has first checks the task settings, then updates the status of the work to 'Running', how much work can be pulled by another customer. The race condition occurs when two customers to get the same work and are trying to insert the results of the work of the same in the table of results (primary key error). I intend to add a phase "pending" to avoid this problem.
A second comes when the DB goes down, for some reason any. It's on a laptop, so downtime is planned on the occasion, but these errors are more difficult to propose a strategy to correct.
Now that you see a bit where I come from, the main question.
How you guys set up the error handling?
I thought using a construction like this:
The basic idea is to fall more and deeper structures in case Error-No error and handle errors constantly running the code in a while loop until we get no error. The problem with this approach is that a lack of support for recursion makes this code very very messy. I'm not sure how to determine which codes for a set of uses of screws, in order to make the correct handling of cases for each of them.
I understand the importance of the management of errors and get the base implementation of this one, so the docs NOR and Sixclear videos are too simplistic. What I would like to find is a depth into the constructions of error management resource. Is there such a thing?
Take a look at the attached PDF - it shows a fairly comprehensive list of how to handle errors in a loop/application.
It does not cover the things that you can do with indicate error as the user, logs the error etc.
What you are actually doing is strongly dependent on your application!

26.4:01 error: bad contact detected in slot 4 ISS floater
I get the 26.4:01 error: bad contact detected in slot 4 ISS on my HP Designjet Z6200 floater. When I click ok it display reinstall the ink cartridge and then I click ok again once it appears faulty cartridge. No matter how many times I reinstall cartridge plotter never recognizes it. Any ideas?
The service manual for the Z6200 won't. You will need to hold + ok while turning on the printer to access the diagnostic menu. You can release the keys when appears the HP logo.
