F8 key will not open safe mode

1. the F8 key does not (safe mode) when the computer is restarted.

2. the Microsoft sound does not play at the start and stop of all other sounds functions work perfectly.

SYSTEM

o Windows XP (home edition)

o IE 8

o MS-DOS [version 5.1.2600]

o Phoenix Award BIOS installed 4/2006 [last updated 11/29/04]

o Custom built computer, 5 years

o no backup is available for crtical/discrete programs or the operating system OEM

That someone has suggestions for the system difficulty and that everything remains alive.

I think you need to determine if the problem of access to the SafeMode because that the F8 key does not access safe mode menu or the computer does not start in safe mode.

In the past with a Microsoft Wireless Multimedia keyboard, I met the situation where the function keys had to be activated by pressing the CAPS LOCK key. This was to be done whenever the computer is started. This is done using the F8 key safe mode access impractical because you must press the lock key when the system is unable to receive instructions from keyboard and always press the F8 key until the system has progressed beyond the point where the ability to access the security mode is still available.  You can't do it.

http://jtsang.MVPs.org/flock.html

The easiest way to access the safe mode becomes to connect using a wired keyboard ps2 if you cannot access the mode without failure of the normal mode. To access the normal mode by selecting Start, run, type msconfig and press ENTER. Choose the Startup tab and let secure boot. Click apply and then click OK and restart the computer. To return to a normal startup, you uncheck the safe boot option.

    ·        Do you have an error message when you try to start the system normally? If Yes, what is the exact error message?

    Method 1:

It might be that internet explorer is corrupt. I suggest to run a SFC scan on the system and check if the problem persists.

    a. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    b. type the following command and press ENTER:

  • PC does not normally, will not open in Mode without failure. 124 Blue error screen.

Hope you can help, I'm pulling my hair out here.

Yesterday, my PC crashed and eventually would not load normally. When load it goes into a loop where he would try and fix the mistake (he could not), and then try a restore point, that will fix it either. In addition, the screen is highly pixelated on each screen, including the start of Packard Bell at the beginning screen.

Randomly, when I booted up my PC today, it went in the tool to restart system and restarted the PC, and it started properly - no pixelations. It lasted for 5-10 min, then crashed again. After restarting, it returned to the same problems as above, pixelated screen and does not start in normal mode, Safe Mode only.

I get the error code is below. I can locate the dump file, in that respect, but I don't know how open it to read (seems not that I have any program that can be read).

Any help, advice, suggestions as to what I can do to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you

    Hello

Have you run BlueScreenView to see the Bug_Checks yourself? Very revealing.

You run both BitDefender and AVG. Have two major antivirus on the same system,
much less enforcement, certainly do not. Even those who are disabled and some uninstalled, will be
load the pieces themselves into memory. Remains of those uninstalled can do the same thing.
Uninstall AVG and BitDefender to help to uninstall, and then run the removal of their creator tools
so that no remains are left behind. AVG is known to have caused strange problems. See
below to get recommendations for use during the test, even better would be permanently.

Just realized you also use what is called RadialPoint, and it's another antivirus.
on top of those security program above - you must abandon it as well.

When you load all programs antivirus/security of two or several you really decrease their and.
effectiveness and thus your security. And resulting then all sorts of weird errors.

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
    Operation of the network.

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.

    PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

You also load Adaware at startup and it sometimes causes also some questions so I
would be to uninstall it. If you use the above recommendations you will not need, nor likely
benefit of Adaware running in resident mode.

    I hope this helps.

  • El capitan will not open - full boot disk

    Hello

My Macbook Pro 2015 will not open. I have El Capitan on it.

The last time it was open, I was copying large files on it. Did not notice that the free space was not so. Thus, change some time to copy files, the screen freezes and I had to stop it by pressing the button of closing for a period of time.

Now it wonder pass and then takes over to 100% and stay like that. I keep it like that for 1 and a half hour and still the same.

    I have fact/cheque:

1 safe mode - does not work. I don't know why, and I'm wright.

2 disk utility (cmd + R) - say that the mac player seems to be ok (first aid) and shows me zero free Ko. Think that's the reason why it does not start.

3 terminal. Find my user >. Trash and delete the content thereof (rm - rf ~ /.) Trashes) and checked it was empty after. After restarting the same.

4 El Capitan of loading of the external drive. Can't see hidden files (.) (Trash) even when I put the command in the terminal. I was able to remove the other files with this, which appeared on the external drive of the El capitan Trash and delete them from there to check the mac, 100 GB of free drive. Reboot and always the same time. Open Cmd + R-> disk utility again: zero free Ko. Why?

Like most computers Mac needs space to run in, so boot from an external drive and delete (or move) at least 15 GB of your Mac. This should be enough to start, do not fill it up again

the windows system restore feature is a very important system.

and if it is defective or failed in some way, then this may be a sign that your whole system could be damaged or unstable.

what you can try is execution of the system via safe mode restore.

If this does not work yet, so the next step is to move your personal files, documents, photos and send boxes out of the system because the following methods that will help restore your system can put your personal files safe.

so after trying safe mode stage and or copy your personal files from the system, we can take the next steps.

    Hello

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
by tapping F8 as you start several times.

  • After installation of the parental control my Start Menu will not open

I have recently installed Windows live family safety on my computer. After I've set up and he began to monitor user accounts, I found that the start menu will not open and when you navigate in Explorer, records that contain a large amount of files I can't navigate to files that lie near the bottom, as it keeps jumping to the top of the page.

It is without doubt parental control that is causing the problem as the uninstall it sorts the problem. I ran SFC/scannow, a cmd in normall, and safe mode prompt and it doesn't find any errors

. I had this same problem when I got the laptop in November and a successful to fall on a difficulty at the time (to install the resource from Dell that CD somehow fixed?), but now that either doesn't work or it was a coincidence that the problem has been resolved at the same time, it seemed however to solve the problem on some laptops that I worked at the time.

I had to reset the laptop back to factory settings (ironically due to a system error that prevented the family of work safety!) I also tried a replair nothing works facility. When I installed Essentials I selected only parental controls must be installed.

I am now at my wits end, I do not understand how a piece of Windows software is make a significantly Windows operating system!

When I move the mouse over the icon in the taskbar that appears after that I have I dbl-clicked on the icon on the desktop, you can see a miniature version of the browser open as usual, unfortunately, the browser will not open upward on the desktop. I've deleted and reinstalled several times. It has worked very well until I did the update last night.

    Machine features:
    8.1 to win
    16 GB of RAM
    3 video concerts
    Processor AMD FX-6200 6 3.80 Ghz
    64 bit

Sometimes, a window is "off the screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?

A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt.

#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:

Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.

Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the search for the start bar menu (or perhaps 8.x for Windows search of charms bar bar?) type or paste the following and press ENTER to drill down to the profiles folder:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.

Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

  • c 36. will not open the link in a new tab, opens the tab I'm on

by clicking on a link or a bookmark will not open a new tab, it opens on the tab I'm already. Have already tried tools/options/tabs/check the windows open again in a new tab instead. It does not work.

Hi, Firefox doesn't. You need to right click > open link in a new tab. Otherwise, click the mouse wheel. Or, hold down the Ctrl key when you click on the left.

There are also modules such as Tab Mix Plus,or bookmarks only, try to open bookmarks in new tab.

    Hope that helps.

  • I don't know what to do about Java - my Mac is horribly slow, and I was advised to remove Java. But now it will not open Photoshop without Java.

I don't know what to do about Java - my Mac is horribly slow, and I was advised to remove Java, it installs adware. The more I studied, the more information, I've seen say that most of the Web sites and software do not use Java on Mac more. So I deleted everything related with Java. But now it will not open Photoshop without Java. It will be safe if I get it directly from the Oracle site?

You can download the installer for OS X directly from Oracle. Be sure to uncheck everything installs 'optional' which can appear at the beginning (I think on Windows it wants to install McAfee trial or the toolbar Bing - not really malware, more as desired and useless crud-ware).  I have a course Java JRE install on my MacBook Pro retina like some internal tools we have developed to work are currently java and I use a tool of u. Toronto called CytoScape is Java.  Sites Web will use Java Script, a very different beast and does not require a full Java or JRE install.  But with Java/JRE installed, just be sure of the source of any software that you download and install that is java based (as you should with all the software that you put on your machine).

In addition, for PhotoShop, it says that you need the legacy Java 6 for OS X?  If so, then don't waste your time on the current version, just install that release 6 legacy.
