  After resizesing my medium to large desktop icons I see several icons are not become larger. Both times it switches around which the icons are large and small. so apparently no model at all. I restart again and find 2 icons went big and 4 other small. It's an amazing incompatible and it amazes me why windows this. Why can't keep windows icons (ICO) files to their proper size? (all my ico files support all sizes, as far as I know, and they have developed scale perfectly up down before the 1. Restart)

  It's incredibly frustrating. MY question is. Can I just to force Windows to use the maximum size, or somehow it resolved so that windows will scale icons up and down properly?

  Just a few questions first, to get a clear picture of the issue;

  1. What is the size of ICO file? Is - this (256 x 256)?

  In Windows 7, App icons and Control Panel items must be in the .ico file format and all should includes following sizes of icons.

  • 16 x 16.
  • 32 x 32.
  • 48 x 48.
  • 256 x 256.

  According to the guidelines of the screenshot, there is a difference in size ofcon I have, I suggest you to download the package of icon for the application you want to change the icons according to the dimensions mentioned above.

• Saving PE10 .ico files?

  I downloaded and installed a copy of Photoshop Elements 10 to run in Windows 8, because it wont let me run my CS3 that is installed in Windows 7, unless I have it write off everything first.

  My problem is that after installing the Player when I try to save a file icon (.ico) he always says "can not save D:\...\Explorer 'the flile name'.ico due to a disk error."

  I can put it in any other format without problem, the file is ' too big t I do this a lot in my other installation of Photoshop.

  I also noticed that when I open the registration window I don't see other .ico files in the folder, which I'm sure I can when I open it with Photoshop CS3.

  Someone has an idea of what's going on here?

  Also all pluggings are born equal?

  I just downloaded this on a place at random, there at - it site recommnended for these things.

  I tried to find a place to get Adobe, but no luck when I searched on their site.

  Is there a source of Adobe for pluggins?

  I just did reformat my hard drive. After you have reinstalled my Adobe CS4 software, I can't open the bridge .ico files - before reformatting the hard drive, I COULD open the bridge .ico files. I can open files .ico directly from Photoshop (I have the telegraphics.com / to the .ico plugin installed in Photoshop to open and save .ico files).

  If I right click on a .ico in Bridge file and select 'Open with' the only option is: COM Surrogate 6.1 (default).

  Looking at the preferences > file types, .ico file type Associations is not available in the file type list. Anyone know what setting or preference I need to change to open the .ico files in Bridge?

  Never mind... I closed the bridge by selecting file > exit (instead of click close at the top right of the program window) and after the reboot, I am able to open the .ico files.

  I try to save an image (jpg or pdf file) as an icon to add to my calendar program - I can't seem to find a program that will allow me to save as .ico - any direction would be appreciated

  You must convert the .jpg in .ico using a program that can do it. I don't think you can convert a PDF one .ico as .pdf is not an image file.

  I use 32 bit fusion 11.1.2.1. I copied the icons and GIF files in the C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_FRHome1\forms\java folder.

  Icon does not appear at run time.

  but when I put the file = abc. GIF

  Displays the image at run time.

  My doubt is this file not displaying ICO is not running as GIF file are displayed.

  I change the configuration?

  I followed the step but still not appering to icon at run time.

  step 1: modify the ui_path in registory to c:\oracle\middleware\frm_home1\forms\java

  absent the registory ui_icon_extension. so I created the name and the value

  ui_icon_extension = "gif": ".gif", "ico": ".ico".

  Step 2. SETL the value in the registory.date file

  ui_path = c:\oracle\middleware\frm_home1\forms\java

  restart my computer.

  icons still showing only not at run time.

  Note: as these icon used on xp. now I use windows7.

  May this be the cause? If yes how to make these compatible icon of windows7?

  trying to create my first animated gif. I have 8 files .ico that I converted into .png to open. Once all are open, I try to combine them into a single file with 8 layers but am unable to do so! If I click on the main layer in any file it shows as locked and it says "indicates layer is partially locked.

  It's normal. Simply open the file you want to use as the base/bottom layer. Now, open the file that will be the first layer to the top of it, press ctrl + a (command + a on mac) to select all, then press ctrl + c (command + c) to copy. Switch back to the background layer, click it, and then press ctrl + v (cmd + v) to paste and use the move tool to position it. Repeat for each layer. Note that the layers in an animated gif image do not play in front of the base layer as the cels comic way, so that you see action in front of a backdrop. You must include everything you want to see at the same time in each layers.

  No is the bottom line. ICO does not yet support the vector. You can either get a plugin for Photoshop or there are many other programs out there that will do this for you. There are some free services online if you search just for them, so if when you have your vehicle for save you for web and create a .png (to hold the transparent) and then you can produce the .ico.

  I use a software called Axialis IconWorkshop which is not too expensive and it's fantastic.

  If it is more of a stop, then looking at something like http://www.convertico.com/ would be the best option.

  I have my favicon.ico to the root of my directory and HTML report and still can't make it work if I get the address without the www in front of him.   Try to delete this HTML code for favicon.ico. As the favicon ico file is in modern browsers of the root directory must be able to find it with a "pointer" to it.
