  There is one case where I can't display a modified to correct Photoshop image in LR.

  If the PSD file has a layer mask with a feather, LR displays a hard edge mask.

  There is no problem with a normal gradient or shadow a layer style.

  I'm on CC PS and LR CC, latest versions.

  Anyone have the same problem?

  This is a known bug in the latest version of Photoshop. Adobe knows about it, and I think they're going to fix in the next version of PS.

• Feather and hardness, a search for equality...

  
  Hi all

  I'm hoping to get a simple answer to this without looking like a blunder of not knowing a simple technique, already used by 1000.

  OK, so I make a big selection then feather a maximum of 250px and make a new layer. Now after further review I want to erase parts of this selection all in now the same sweetness of the pen, so I select a suitable sized brush and how then - I put the % of "hardness" of this brush to match the 250px of my selection of feathers? Is there a link here that a math challenged PS'er could understand?

  Close enough is OK and experimentation has worked in the past but to make and unmake becomes old and slow with 6 GB of files...

  You can't because it is expressed in pixels, while the other percentage, the best thing to do would be to use the keys Alt + Maj + do drag the shortcut to roughly match the feather

• EverNote Web Clipper doesn't work anymore

  I used Evernote Web Clipper for a long time, but today it has stopped working and there is a black spot immediately under the figure of the elephant in the Evernote Web Clipper icon on the toolbar of Safari.

  I uninstalled and reinstalled the extension including restart Safari.  I tried this and my MBP is restarted.

  It still does not work.

  I use OS X El Capitan 10.11.16 with Safari 9.1.3 (11601.7.8), Evernote Web Clipper 6.9 and Evernote Premium 6.8 (Direct 453748).

  Any suggestions?

• MBP is overheating and I have to restart several times per day

  My MBP is overheating, slowing to a crawl, and I have to restart several times a day (which may or may not help the issue).

  The machine is:

  MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, end of 2013)

  2.4 GHz Intel Core i5

  DDR3 4 GB 1600 MHz

  No expandable RAM (which is beyond me why they would make a non-expandable machine. I discovered after I bought it).

  During the day I am running:

  Mail application (with very complete box - this might be a contributing factor? Can I archive the emails registered)

  Safari (with different tabs open, sometimes a lot sometimes just)

  Messages

  EverNote

  Chrome (with different tabs open, sometimes a lot sometimes just)

  ... and from time to time, but not always:

  I'm not game. I'm not streaming video. After a few hours of use, several times a day (often 2-4 times just one afternoon) the machine slows to a crawl and I reboot, which may or may not solve the problem of the speed and the heat.

  I ran the activity monitor utility, and there are applications that I do not sometimes recognize using 11 to 18% of CPU (bird and soangent). Anyone know what here?

  Bird and soagent are the normal processes of Apple. Bird is one of the procedures used with the synchronize documents iCloud. soagent is used in conjunction with the Messages. In normal circumstances or will require an excessive amount of time processor. If you use Messages with a Google or other account not Apple (in other words, not exclusively iCloud) poor performance could be correlated with these accounts.

  In any event 11-18% seems a bit much for me. Try to uninstall Evernote as well as all Google products. Or the other could possibly conflict with push social agent and / or document the Apple process synchronization. Google is disinterested or impossible to implement effective OS X apps.

  Try to remove all accounts non - Apple Messages, but also completely remove Google from your Mac. You can always reinstall it and Evernote once again after a repair. Your data Google and Evernote is stored on their servers. Back up your Mac in any case, as a precaution.

  Perhaps. "Comprehensive" is relative. Some people keep dozens or even hundreds of thousands of e-mail messages. The practical limits of some Mail are, I don't know.

  4 GB is perfectly adequate to run El Cap on a MBP of the retina. It would be premature to suspect material deficiencies, but products Google will introduce a new Mac, regardless of its configuration.

  Run Apple Hardware Test to confirm that your exhaust fan MBP works normally. Apple Hardware Test is for Macs produced before June 2013. Later Macs use Apple Diagnostics.

• SHIFT and shortcut in Photoshop CC F6

  The shortcut of pen (Shift and F6) suddenly changed to return horizontally for some reason any. I went to change the shortcuts, and when I check the pen, Shift and F6 is the assigned shortcut. There is no shortcut assigned to return horizontally. I tried to reassign the shift & shortcut F6 to feather and I got this message: Shift & F6 shortcut used by titled Flip Horizontal action that replaces this command. Overview would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  Open the Actions panel and see if you have a defined Action named orders responsible.

• Noise reduction, clarity and sharpness of Vs masking

  Maybe I used too much clarity for the birds and noise reduction. Some recommend on dpReview, no noise reduction and now I tend to believe them. Recently, I tried using little to no noise reduction, little or no clarity, a lot of sharpness and about 40% of masking. This gives the details of good bird feather, and anything with less detail has little better bokeh and noise. In areas of low detail it seems to me that the masking reduced the noise caused by the sharpening, but it has less effect on the noise increased clarity. Is this true? If this is the case, birds, photography is better clarity used sparingly and selectively, as on the head?

  Another reason for all of this, is that once I read even a little masking degrades the sharpness but now I doubt that. Maybe LR which has improved over the years.

  Reducing noise from luminance indeed (and the extended color noise reduction) tends to erase fine feather detail.

  I recommend:

  * lowered the noise reduction and if you are not using it, how the cursor nr.detail up crank - this will help maintain fine feather detail and is superior to sharpen detail to maintain details otherwise lost pen due to the reduction of noise.

  * a lowered sharpening in detail, to reduce noise and reduce the "need" to reduce the noise.

  * and sharpen masking to taste...

  Also note: exactly 50 masks all global sharpening sharpening room and can therefore be used in conjunction with noise reduction to smooth bokeh areas.

  And of course you can add sharpening or clarity locally too.

  I know that I have not responded to your question perfectly as asked, but I don't know what to say, then...

  Hi all

  I'm sure this question has been asked and answered, but no matter how I word in search engines I have just never a solution that corresponds exactly to my question, or a solution that solved my problem.

  The question that I meet is when I do a black and white photo and bring out a color by selecting color with the magic switch areas. Once I have the selected color box I have reverse and put the rest of the black and white image, or I have create a new duplicated layer and will remove the content in a single layer and possibly merge the layers of color and black and white to make my final image.

  My problem is that I always get a white space between the colors and images in black and white or layers. I tried to use the option menu edge refine, but never, this solves the problem as the feather and moving edge option do not cover the gap, they just move.

  I resorted to the use of the tool concealer to hide the row, or to merge the layers of color and black and white. The problem with that is some times it is in a very visible place and the Healing Brush tool doesn't always look great. In other words, you can tell that I merged two colors or images together.

  I also have this problem when I use the tool of selection on images I blur portions of. It seems to happen at any time, I use the toold selection and I guess that there is a standard way to avoid this.

  No known photoshop elements fighters advice or tactics would be greatly appreciated. Usually, I can understand this kind of things out, but I can't simply solve this problem.

  I use 11 items if this information is useful at all.

  Instead of using one of the selection tools, try to select the object with a mask. With the mask, you can hide in paint with a black brush, revealing (and correct) with a white brush. I use PSEv.8, so I have to take hostage an adjustment layer mask, but your version of the program has a buit of mask.

  Try this:

  • Open image file
  • Duplicate the background layer
  • Convert the background copy layer black and white
  • Apply the mask. Left click on the mask
  • Paint with a black brush where you want to reveal the color. If you go too far, correct with a white brush

• How to feather for invisible

  PSE9 MAC OS 10.6.8.

  I don't know how I can add to what the title says already.  I would like a picture to have a flexible border that feathers to invisible.  I tried to put an absolute invisible border (select reverse followed by a deletion of the background of the selection) and layout of this flag, but I inevitably get feather begins on the outer edge, traverse in the photo itself leaving a sharp edge showing, and extends too far into the picture.

  I just want all four edges of the photo to 'disappear' in anything.

  Any help?

  Select what you want. Go to Select > feather and add a big enough feather (the exact amount will depend on the resolution of the photo and the size of what you want to keep). Then select > invert, Delete.

  Oh and for a transparent border, if it's just a picture of monolayer with only a bottom layer, before doing any of this, go to the layers panel, and then double-click the background layer to make it a normal layer.

  Flattener does not necessarily mean the pixelation.

  But the selection inside the file and the pixelation it (white, non-transparent background) should solve your problem.

Yet these boxes exasperating with blue letters appear below what I write and he then it replaces my text. I'm a writer, and this makes the iPad almost useless for me.

  Yes.

  These 'boxes exasperating with blue text', (which, moreover, I tend to appreciate) are known as 'Intuitive '.

  Settings > general > keyboard > predictive = "Off".

• Why can't permanently remove a request of my trash?

  I'm on a MacBook Pro running Yosemite 10.10.5. I have a few large files in the Recycle Bin I want to permanently delete. I was selectively deleting files using 'rm' and worked well with all the files except the application files. The screen of the terminal said "...". is a directory. The articles in question are MailDesigner, Slack and Evernote.

• Pencil of Apple compatible apps

  I looked in the app store as suggested in another thread - when I search pencil Apple apps, I get the "there nothing here." So, does anyone know if there is a list? So far, I know that it works in the Notes and Pixelmator - tried in the Pages where I think it should work no doubt, but does not (certainly would be practical to type a letter, and actually the sign).

  It is a brand new iPad 9.7 Pro/pencil.

  If this works in both applications, it seems to be just a little too much and I can return it.
