  Began to look at what is involved in terms of being able to create reports/dashboards in BI against Essbase outfit/source dbs. We have dedicated it resources occupy BI but it is not always easy to have a priority work by them... so by our own database, work in Essbase, the idea is that we would have more control on our own domain in BI.

  I find a lot of guides/tutorials about how to import an Essbase cube to BI, so this isn't really the issue (bar it is being tested).  However I have some other questions/doubts that could ultimately decide if he is a "Spectator" for us... any input welcome.

  1. What is data 'real time' between Essbase and BI?  IE once the migration has occurred and we have performed an analysis against our imported field, will be a change to data in Essbase is immediately visible in BI?
  2. What is the contour between Essbase and BI 'real time '?  After migration, if we add a member to the sketch in Essbase or move a member of the hierarchy in Essbase, is automatically updated in BI?  I seem to remember reading somewhere that db would need almost imported and deployed within BI again for any change of plan... is this correct?
  3. Is there anything else that we should monitor?

  Yes, data in real-time between Essbase and OBI. When a report requested data, OBI issues a request to Essbase to get data using MXD and Essbase returns

  It is a question of "it depends". If you add just members and you do not have caching enabled for the dimension, new members will be added automatically. If caching is enabled, or add you a generation/level then the RPD must be changed to fetch the new Member.

• Not able to connect with OBIEE 11g integrating short

  Hi all

  I try to connect OBIEE DPR (Repository) using short Integrator3.0.

  All credentials are correct, OBIEE 11 g is also in place.

  It shows the error:

  java.net.ConnectException: unable to connect to port 7001 machine localhost

  How reslove it.

• Question of IE9 with obiee 11g

  Hi all
  I made some customizations using narrative view of obiee11G that displays a picture on the Web using HTML5. I can view the report with the image customized using all browsers except Internet Explore. After some research, I found that I need to switch browser view IE9, IE9 compatibility mode in developer tool F12.
  
  Is there a default way to this mode of browser to IE9 instead of modify manually every time that connect us to BI.

  Have you tried clicking on tools > browser compatibility settings and see if the site is in the window? If so, delete it so that it uses is no longer the compatibility view.

  I am a newbie to obiee 11g and that you have installed just obiee 11g in my laptop.
  Can you get it someone please let me know if there is a set of sample exercises that are available which can help me learn obiee 11g.
  
  While I see a lot of materials available on OBIEE 11 G on the internet, I would be grateful if anyone has a list that a newbie in obiee 11g should work with obiee 11g better understand.
  
  E.g. first learn business intelligence
  Learn what is BI
  creating repository
  then start working on the creation of dashboard
  
  If there is a series of sample available to practice so that I can become more familiar with OBIEE.

• OBIEE 11g & MSAD

  I installed MSAD with WebLogic and am able to see all users by following the steps described in the guide to security. I can connect to answers with my users "weblogic" who installed the system, but when I try a user it fails. What should I bring on groups of MSAD as well and then assign them to roles or can I assign a role directly to a user to operate; or do I have to do in order to get the user to connect?

  The section on password BISystemUser by doing the same for the user to BISystemUser weblogic and the BISystemUser AD (which could actually be any arbitrary name if you wanted to) the user doesn't actually take place.

  Work through the steps listed in this blog post for your environment and your problems should be solved and your weblogic users and AD username should be able to connect successfully on Analytics portal.

  Take note of her virtualize = true attribute.

  In addition, make sure your Application roles through the command console of Fusion EM BIConsumer application role includes the main "authenticated role." This will ensure that all users who actually authenticate via AD or weblogic LDAP are allowed in the Analytics portal.

  Q quick question - have someone he succeeded in connecting to Essbase with the Administration tool, using the "Customer?" Installer only
  I can't make it work. It gives me just a "connection failed" error IM subject to unistall it and try to install the Administration tool of the complete installation.
  
  Can anyone of you guys make it work with Essbase?

  Yes I was using the complete installation.

  Before uninstall you, you can try setting these missing environment variables on the command-line (manually) and then start the administration tool. I have not tried but I think it would work, because no matter how they are defined.

  I found the solution for the connection failed in RPD (reposiotry)

  The database connected all services to be cuddly but RPD can not able to see the data error occurred and obiee also offline database error has occurred.

  Check the installation of OBIEE for example folder:

  \Oracle_BI1\network\admin\ and tnsname.ora and then open file check the database

  name of the database = obiee my ip = 192.168.0.129 and port 1522 If what that it either in error means please configure and then display the data in the RPD and OBIEE

  I'm not really sure what you have, but assuming that you have a command prompt of dashboard with the year of the column, define a variable presentation for this column (pv_year) and then in the report, for the columns you want, set the column as header @{pv_year} and @{pv_year-1}.

  He must pick up the values from the command prompt and dynamically set in the column headers.

  2dont criteria: -check the second line "SumaTotalProyectos" which is the sum total of society in Ene-2015 (January 2015) for all projects. Who is 211 249 318,42

  3 criteria:-check the 187 157 538.57 which is the sum of the top 10 projects

  4 criteria: -which is the percentage of it, 187 157 538.57 / 211 249 318,42 = 88.60%

  How can you put?

  Check the filter of RANK

  

  2 to check the 2 criteria: total sum of society

  When I'm trying to connect to essbase by OBIEE I get error as below.

  Error: Connection failed error 269587920 essbase

  I'm trying to import data from essbase into OBIEE. I get this error when I'm trying to import with the same user on cloud that I managed to import. Could someone help me on this please.

  You will need telnet installed locally, it can be enabled in windows.

  Then the command prompt

  Telnet Server port

  for example, essbase running on the default port.

  Telnet cloudservername 1423

  The assumption is that essbase running on the default port.

  You also need to open ports for the application - Ports Essbase server port
