Fill out form Acrobat - Validation of the final Document

Can someone help me with this. I want to put a form validation field blank in the document set actions when a document is closed. Basically wanting a custom level data validation input.

For example, form has 20 fields, I want 3 of them say name1, Group1 and age1 to generate a JavaScript alert when they are empty.

So if all three are empty it will say

Please fill out the fields of age, occupation, and name

If one name is empty it will say then only

Please fill in the name field

Can you tell me or list the javascript code on how to do this? Right now I use just a reminder of type general app.alert when the document is closed. Trying to smarten things a bit.

I see. You can then use this code. I made a slight change to the format of the error message to make it easier to generate:

var fields = ["name1", "occupation1", "age1"]; // The actual field names
var descriptions = ["Name", "Occupation", "Age"]; // The user-friendly names for these fields
var missingFields = [];

for (var i in fields) {
    if (this.getField(fields[i]).valueAsString=="") {
        missingFields.push(descriptions[i]);
    }
}

if (missingFields.length!=0) {
    app.alert("Please complete the following fields: " + missingFields.join(", "), 1);
}

  • Creation of forms to fill out - DC Acrobat or Acrobat Pro DC?

    Hi, I have trouble finding the difference between DC and DC Pro Acrobat acrobat. I saw the Plans and prices: compare plans | Adobe Acrobat DC , but it is not clear if the domain controller Standard is all I need.

    My main purpose for the product is to create forms (box to check and information to learn about forms), where people can fill out forms, save and email back to me. Then I need to be able to edit the forms with the information that they have sent.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi ang95,

    You can create interactive PDF forms in Acrobat Pro DC as well as Acrobat Standard DC.

    However some features may be limited in Standard version as "Enhance PDF form and connect to databases with JavaScript.

    I will recommend you to go for Acrobat Pro DC because there is so much that can be done to create interactive PDF forms to place fields in form using JavaScript.

    The easiest way is to use the security of the directory of the web server that generally allows you to administer via control host Panel. Otherwise, see DW user authentication and login server behaviors.

  • Fixed-term validity of the authorized document

    Hello

    I deleted the certificate exam 1z0-007, 1z0-042, 1z0-043 and received from Oracle's OCA code successfully.

    For some reason any from now on, I am unable to fill the hands on the course of oracle to obtain a certificate of OCP. During this time, I wanted to come back to 1z0-048 (RAC).

    I checked with Oracle, control centre and confirmed that I can attend the review.

    But my question is, how long will my result valid for 1z0 - 042 to take the OCP certificate and certificate of oracle RAC, if I intend to fill the hands on the course a little later.

    Is it a fixed duration as to the validity of the authorized document.

    Answer please, so that I can make a plan to attend the exam 1z0-048 as soon as possible.

    Kind regards

    SS,

    There is no time limit as such for the exams that are passed, provided that they are not obsolete for some reason any. If this isn't the case, the examination and approval remains valid.

    According to the review link,.
    http://education.Oracle.com/pls/web_prod-PLQ-dad/db_pages.GetPage?page_id=186

    You must be either 10 g / 11g OCP or should participate in training before you could be rewarded by the certificate. Please note that you can write any review of any time, but the award of certification would occur only once you pass all the prerequistes of it. Being a SANDBOX, you can probably write the review, but the certificate be given whenyou will meet all the requirements. Then I suggest you to end your OCP or follow the 10g RAC training program before writing the review.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader app will not let me fill out forms

    I have Adobe Acrobat Reader on my iPhone. I tried to fill out a form from this link: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864.pdf. It's a protected form and Acrobat was not let me fill out the form. I tried to fill in the form with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on my PC and I have not had any problems. I also tried FoxIt PDF on my iPhone and I had no problem with filing of the form.

    S Malik,

    The PDF in particular (i - 864.pdf) is a special type of PDF form called a static XFA form.

    Unfortunately, mobile applications of the Acrobat Reader (for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone) do not accept the static or dynamic XFA forms created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Help!  End users with Reader only impossible to save the document that they fill out forms...?

    Hello and thank you in advance for your help!

    I have the full version of Acrobat 9 Standard, but I also have the trial version of Acrobat X Pro, in the hope that she would do what I need it to do.

    In my business, I have a 30 page document in PDF with form in all fields.  I send this form to my clients, and they fill it in, sign it and send it back.  I wish they were able to save the document so that they do not have to fill out the 30 pages together in one sitting, they can work on the forms for a bit, then reopen later.  So far, many of my clients have complained that they are unable to save the document at all.

    In addition, even if I'm here, I would also mention that I would like for these customers to put digital signatures on these documents rather than having to print, sign and scan or fax for me to hide.  I have white signature on the PDF in question, but I want to be sure that my customers end users having ONLY the reader can this sign digitally.

    Help?  Suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

  • Acrobat - filling out forms, then sending as read only in Acrobat reader (not pro)

    Hello

    I designed a pricing document in Acrobat Pro using form fields.

    My question is, how do I send this to a member of my team to complete, and then allow them to send to a potential client with read only, so that the fields are not available? My team member must also Pro?

    Thank you very much

    PDF forms can be filled in, saved and submitted using the free Reader software. You

    don't have Acrobat to do.

  • Fill out forms Standard vs professional

    Is there a difference between the forms created in Acrobat Standard XI against professional? Someone I know told me that if two versions can create, the standard version requires the front end for the standard or pro fill up where as the Pro allows anyone to fill in until they have Acrobat Reader.

    My friend isn't correct or can I create a form with XI Standard and send it to someone who has only Acrobat Reader and they still fill out, sign and send it to me?

    No, digital signatures and electronic signatures (electronic signature) are quite different. EchoSign is a type of e-signature, not digital signature. If you want to users to drive to e-sign, the document should NOT be compatible player. If this is the case, the e-signing tools that are available in Reader 10/11 is not available.

    Note that when a form is signed, the form is flattened, which means that the apparitions of field are converted to standard page content and interactive fields are deleted. Therefore, it is very difficult to extract the data in the form, if this is something you need to do.

    If you do not need any type of signature and need filled in forms is up to you, you should activate Reader of the document (Standard or Pro), which will allow any version of Reader to fill out and save. If you know that your users will use Reader 11, it is not necessary to activate Reader and they will be able to e-sign, unless you also include a button with an action of 'submit form '.

  • PDF can be filled out online and sent to the Web site owner?

    Hi, I have a customer who wants pdf on their website to fill out online and sent directly to the owner of the site. Is this possible?

    See you soon

    It is possible. In order to make it work with the player, the document must be compatible reader with Acrobat or LiveCycle Reader Extensions. If you use Acrobat, you are limited by the license agreement Acrobat from the data of not more than 500 cases of a form (including paper copies) that was released. LiveCycle Reader Extensions is a bit expensive and requires that install you it on a server that you are configuring. Note that you can not activate drive form for a customer using your copy under license of Acrobat. The customer must make itself using its licensed copy. There is another restriction of license.

    In Acrobat, you can set up a button to send or present all of the PDF to an email address. If you need digital signatures on the form and want to use Acrobat, you will need to use Acrobat Pro, as opposed to Standard.

    Another option is to configure the form to simply present the form data, which can be used in Acrobat to fill out a blank form. In this case, there is no restriction license on the number of supports that you can use. Post on one of the Acrobat forums if you want more information.

    No matter which option you use, if you need to make sure you set up the form submit to a web server, as opposed to by email. E-mail is generally not safe, and it is relatively easy to use HTTPS/SSL with a web sever. Submit by email is also not nearly as reliable that send a web server, but this is extra work.

  • Filling out forms and then lock up

    I've created a form that has one of my clients can fill out and then send off to a client. Is it possible that once they have completed their form and before it sends out of their client that I can lock the form of editing. They use Adobe Reader X for the form.

    I was wondering if there was like a filled button I have created which would be loock it out before they emailing. The main reason for this is that they are the Bills they send and obviously they don't want their customers to be able to change the figures.

    Thanks in advance

    Toni

    To flatten their appearances fields are converted to standard page content, you can use the following JavaScript utility: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

    The other options that are available in Pro are optimized PDF and control upstream.

    I was talking about security standard password, which is studied in more Help doc. Acrobat notes that you don't have to set a password to open, just a Permissions password. It is also optional if you flatten it, since there is no interactive field for the user to change.

  • Cannot fill out forms, please help...

    OK, that's a stupid question, but I'm completely lost.  I'm trying to fill out applications online, or download and fill out, when they are in PDF format.  All that said I should just be able to click and type, but I can't.  What I am doing wrong?

    You're probably not a bad thing. Many PDF documents that resemble forms contain interactive form fields, because the creator of the document does not add an extra step. The full version of Acrobat can add text to a document using the typewriter tool, assuming that there is no security that limits. It can also allow a document so that the typewriter tool is available in the player. A trial of the full version of Acrobat X is available for download, so you can try it out of you don't have it already.
