Filtering XML with E4X data

I have a document xml with the following syntax

<shelf>
    <name>
      <![CDATA[Stationery]]>
    </name>
    <tier>
                     <hard level="2"/>
                     <easy level="1"/>
          </tier>
</shelf>

In the XML above, the there is more than one < shelf > with < level > tag which may have 1 or more < easy > or < hard > (or both) tags. To try to filter an xml structure to get an XMLList of objects < shelf > needs a tag in the tag < level > < last > with a @level of 1 using the E4X attribute

XML. Shelf. (tier['hard'].@level == 1)

I get AN object back when there is obviously more < shelf > with a tag < level > < hard > @level = 1

Then E4X to manage such a complex filtering?

Well I notice a few things. You have a few attributes level which are not met. And there is one node that has two different hard knots. Assuming that's true, then I think you could get both with

XML. Shelf. (hard. (@level=="1").length ());

  • Remove the node XML with E4X

    How can I do? I tried "Delete node;" or even = null;

    OK, I found a solution to this...

    First, the problem was mainly that I was trying to do this dynamically, without really say the name of the child I want to remove.

    So, if it's only what needed to be done:
    delete xml.hello;
    and the XML looks like

    something

    It would work. But now I tried to remove a node without knowing the name of it.
    but it works when I did like this:

    var node: XML = XML (checkbox.data.node);
    var Noeudparent: XML = node.parent ();
    Remove nodeParent [node.name ()] [node.childIndex ()];

    And it works!

    I don't know if it's the best way, but it works and I am pleased...

    I use an XML file as a dataProvider for my Flex application.
    My request is quite large and we do move a lot of data - so the XML file I use is also big enough.

    I have read a few tutorials and had air in-depth examples online and I'm just after a little advice. My application works, but I don't know if I went about setting up and using my data provider of the best (most effective) way.

    I'm basically after a few tips as to time, I go on (access) using my XML and by filling my Flex application is the best and most effective way?

    My request is made up of the main application (MXML) and also additional file in the form of files / components.

    I'll set up my connection to my XML in my application file master file using HTTPService:

    and the manipulation of my results with the following function:

    in my application, I'll put my values of variables by first delacring them:

    And then, giving them a value to "break" into the XML, E; g:

    lName = myDataFeed.employeeDetails.contactDetails.lastName;
    Postal code = myDataFeed.employeeDetails.contactDetails.address.postcode;
    telNum = myDataFeed.employeeDetails.contactDetails.postcode;

    etc...

    So, for any of my external components (components in another FILE), I'm so referencing the values it with Application:

    Import mx.core.Application;

    And by setting the values / variables in components AS as follows:

    fName = Application.application.myDataFeed.employeeDetails.contactDetails.firstName;
    lName = Application.application.myDataFeed.employeeDetails.contactDetails.lastName;


    As mentioned this method seems to work, however, is the best way to do it? :
    -Connect to my XML file
    -Set up my application variables
    -Give my values of variables of the XML file...

    Keeping in mind that there are many variable must be defined and there for a lot of lines of code just setting and allocation of variable values of my XML file in this particular application.

    Could someone advise me please on this one there?

    I see no problem with it.

    Your alternatives are to ignore instance variables and to query the XML directly. If you use values in many places, the Variables will be easier to use and maintain.

    Also, instead of instance variables, colld place you in the values in an "associative array" (object/hashtable), or in a dictionary.

    You have used a FLWOR expression (the 'for' + 'return' part of it) in this post: Re: Please help to read the XML with XMLTable

    And I have already said: do not use in this case.

    Faster or slower isn't the point. Oracle will evaluate the expression in the same way.

    But from a maintenance point of view, it's obviously much easier to use a simple XPath expression like this:

    In fact, you would be generally extracted from mapping data in a separate query so that you can use it to build the dynamic with XMLNamespaces clause of the namespace.

    Remember that nothing is 'urgent' here, and repeating it will probably produce the opposite effect.

    If you need a quick answer, provide all necessary details, in the first place:

  • How to get to 'leave the event' script to run again when the form with the data file is reopened?

    I've created an Adobe Dynamic XML using LiveCycle Designer form with many fields / subforms that are 'visible' or the 'hidden' according to the selected options of different menu drop-down lists. Also, the form has been activated to save. Users can successfully fill out the form and save a copy with the data that has been entered.

    The problem I have is that when the recorded file is opened again in the 'hidden' fields / subforms that were previously made visible by selecting the appropriate options in the drop-down list NOT displayed now. However if you make the same selections from each of the drop-down list shows still hidden ONCE the fields / subforms are displayed, and do not contain data that has been entered.

    The problem seems to be that the script that determines whether a field / subform is 'hidden' or 'visible' is a

    "<event activity="output" name="event__exit">" "

    that is followed by

    If (this.rawValue is '0')- (i.e. the value of the drop-down list)

    sfCompanyDetails.presence = "visible";

    sfRecruitmentAgency.presence = 'hidden ';

    etc, etc.

    and, therefore, it is not executed again when the file is reopened.

    Can someone advise please how do I do this?

    I know that this discussion may not be in the right place exactly, but thought I'd give it a try.

    I have an XML file that I have several applications of reading, and I would like to have a html file that would read this xml file and enter the individual data from it. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get there? Or know where I could find this information?

    The text appears on the scene, but without formatting. I don't get any errors. If anyone can help with this it would be greatly appreciated.

    The default parser doesn't like the VAT statement charset in css:

    @charset "utf-8";

    Deletion of line of the file and you should be ok. Otherwise, you could write your own parser - or strip the statement on.

  • Problem with field date

    I have problems with the dates. I have a datagid which fills the XML values. Some examples of dates in the xml document.
    (1) 2008-08 - 05T 00: 00:00Z
    2) 2008 - 07-22 T 00: 00:00Z
    (3) 2008-08 - 04T 23: 00:00Z
    4) 2008 - 07-11 T 11: 18:20Z

    I have the function that is called when an element is clicked on the data grid. This function is supposed to take the above date and the date of the datefield in a summary Panel. I continued to get xmllist@23232 to date conversion error if I tried to bind the property of selectDate datefield in dataGrid value.

    I've seen examples of datefield defined using a date object. So I stored the date above in a string. Screens of the string data fine only thing is a the componenet (T) of time as well. So I split the string using the string to split the function and the use of "T" as a separator. The problem is the 2nd and 4th dates in the above examples worked well and display perfectly in the datefield.

    The 1st and 3rd dates however wrongly displayed. I've posted the table stored items from split, which found that the date of the first one 2008-08 - 05T 00: 00:00Z rose in 2008-08-06 instead of on 2008-08-05
    and for 2008-08 - 04T 23: 00:00Z rode in on 2008-08-05 instead of 2008-08-04. I checked the string that was storing the data grid data and who has been properly storing the value.

    In my application, I tried to create a customized data controller.

    I created a Java class results and a bean ResultsBean class.
    Then I selected class results-> right click-> data controller to create.
    The Results.xml is created
    Everything is going well so far.

    Then I updated the details of class Bean in Results.xml and tried to re-create the data controller but did ResultsBean.xml ' t formed.


    In other words ResultsBean have not associated with outcome data controller.
    Please help on this.
