Find a Table and line size in bytes

Hi guys,.

I want to find how much space occupies a TABLE in bytes and also how much space 1 individual LINE occupies in a block size of 8192 byte data.

Thank you.

Kind regards
Kamran

Salvation for the calculation of the size of the table you can use

select sum(bytes) from dba_segments

where segment_name = 'YOUR_TABLE'

and for size, you can use something like this

select
     max(vsize(empno)) +
     max(vsize(ename)) +
     max(vsize(job)) +
     max(vsize(mgr)) +
     max(vsize(hiredate)) +
     max(vsize(sal)) +
     max(vsize(comm)) +
     max(vsize(deptno))  Bytes

    Another file dbf (default) includes:-SYSTEM.dbf, SYSAUX.dbf, TEMP.dbf, USERS.dbf, etc.

  • Size of the data in a table and the size of the table

    I am trying to determine the size of the data in a table and also the overall table size. I use the following query:

    SELECT BOTTOM (a.owner) as owner,
    LOWER (a.table_name) AS table_name,
    a.tablespace_name,
    a.Num_Rows,
    ROUND ((a.blocks * 8 / 1024)) AS size_mb,
    a.Blocks,
    a.Blocks * 8 Blocks_Kilo_Byte.
    a.PCT_FREE,
    a.compression,
    a.Logging,
    b.bytes / 1024 / 1024
    From all_tables a, dba_segments b
    WHERE the a.owner AS SUPERIOR ("USER_TEST")
    AND a.table_name = "X_TEST_TABLE."
    AND b.segment_name = a.table_name
    AND b.owner = a.owner
    ORDER BY 1, 2;

    Is this the right way to go about finding the size of the data in a table? If this isn't the case, please give your suggestions.

    BTW, this in a 10g version.

    You probably want to use the DBMS_SPACE package. In particular, the procedures SPACE_USAGE and UNUSED_SPACE to get an accurate account of the use of space in a table. Your application may give you a relatively accurate estimate if the optimizer on your table's statistics are reasonably accurate estimates. But there is no guarantee that the optimizer statistics are accurate.

    If you want just an approximate answer and you're comfortable that your statistics are accurate, this query may be close enough. If you want a specific response, however, use the DBMS_SPACE package.

  • can we find unused tables and markings using OEM 12 c

    Hello

    I use OEM 12 c, databases are all about 11.2.0.3 and need to find if I can find many empty tables and markings unused acorss our env using OEM 12 c
    DBA create tables and indexes intended to test dummy and then they forget to delete these objects that are not been used for a long time.
    can I use a time regarding since when they are not being used and if they are empty using OEM 12 c.

    Thank you

    Don't know if EM can be used for this but you can use the audit to see if tables/indexes are used. See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e26088/statements_4007.htm#i2116021

    Just to know if indexes are used, you can use ALTER INDEX USE of SURVEILLANCE;
    For more information, see http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/index-monitoring.php

  • Purge of the records of the Table and the size of the data file

    11.2.0.4/Oracle Linux 6.4

    We want to reduce the size of the DB (file size of data), so that our RMAN backup size will be reduced. So, let's create stored procedures that will purge old data in huge tables.

    After you remove records, we will decrease the tables using the:

    change the movement line of table ITEM_MASTER enable;

    change the waterfall table retractable ITEM_MASTER space;

    ALTER table ITEM_MASTER deallocate unused;

    The commands above will reduce the file size of data (see dba_Data_files.bytes) or it will reduce the size of the segment?

    Only the segment formats will be reduced.  Oracle has never reduced the sizes of data file automatically.  You would have to reduce them.  You may not be able to reduce the size of data file if there are extensions to the 'end' (highwatermark) data files.  In this case, you will need to create a new tablespace and move all the objects for the new tablespace OR export, drop, create tablespace and import.

  • table and the columns in small capitals!

    Dear all,

    My database is GR 11, 2 and Linux is the operating system.
    One of my application, whose code I cannot access, he is trying to insert records into the Oracle database. The problem is that the application is case sensitive and try to find the table and columns in small capitals, name while he gets the caps of Oracle and gives error or identifier is not valid.

    Y at - it option to create fields and the table with small letters.

    Kindly help.

    Use "" for the table and columns

    create table "table_test" ( "col_test" number(12));

  • Programmatically set the size of a table control (not the number of col and lines)

    Hi all

    I am trying to create a little VI, in which the user selects the number of columns and rows in a table, and after clicking on a button 'OK', the table control is displayed in the control panel (to be filled in by the user). To do this, I use the nodes property to the number of columns and lines. I have no problem with that.

    However, I want to "limit" the size of the control table (control of himself, not the dimensions of the table) and make use of vertical and horizontal table, the scroll bars. I want to avoid it is that passes type 100 user and 100 lines and appears a huge table control.

    I could tho this by using an array instead of an array, via the node property "size", but I would use an insead table a table.

    Thank you very much

    Daniel

    With a table control, you cannot set the display size to be anything other than a multiple of a complete cell.

    If you are limited to a number of lines and columns.  If you want to resize with more control you also need to resize the control within the Bay, accessible via the property 'picture Element '.

    Another option (but seems huge exaggerated) is to place your table in a secondary and set the size of the secondary to the size you need and enable scrollbars for her.  It is not an option that I would choose but if it helps...

    Have it, your description of your user interface sounds not very intuitive.  How the user knows at any time exactly what cell they access if they have to scroll backwards?

  • Search for the string in the string table and see the following value in the line

    Hi, I'm new I have LV and I do a Vi that read worksheet values and generates 2d channels of the same spreadsheet table. For the moment everything I need is a function that find specyfic string in this table and show the next value in a line. As:

    Table:

    a; b
    c; d
    f; g

    example: find the 'c '.

    VI shoud show "d".

    Concerning

    Not a bad homework problem.  Do it with pencil and paper.  Write your table and pretend you're the computer.  What you want to do (step by step)?  What questions do you have?

    Now that the translation a bit to computers.  You mentioned that the data is in an array of strings.  What structures (LabVIEW) work with tables?  [Do you know how to work with tables?  [Otherwise, review some of LabVIEW Tutorial material - see top right of the first page of the Forum].  What do you know about channels?  What questions you need to ask questions on the channels?  What do you know about string functions?

    Watch these things in some LabVIEW code, 'feed' some data and see what he does.  If it seems to do things "unexplained", you can try to look at the block diagram to run by turning the performance highlight (and if you don't know what that means, use the help of LabVIEW and see the tutorials).

  • Detection of dimension table and find/replace

    Sorry if it's simple, but I can't find an answer and what I have tried does not work.

    I need to 'reverse' and table. I mean if an element in an array is zero, make it 255, and if it is 255, zero.

    This bit is easy enough, but the table can be 1 d or 2D. I can't find a way to detect the dimension. Size of the array gives a number if table is 1 d and a table so she 2D (or), but I can't work on how to use this (size of the table making table size gives an error if the input array is 1 d)

    Thanks for any help. (Race of 8.6 if it makes a difference)

    Richard,

    If you get properly, the only problem is that you cannot predict the dimension of the array you want to process. How this table is created in the first place? Maybe there is a way to keep track of the right side of the dimension of creation. IM only guessing of course, maybe it's time that you show us a piece of code.

  • Want to change the WordPad default values for font size and line spacing

    I use WordPad quite heavily because it is simple and fast.  But the new version of W - 7 seems to not allow you to change the default values for the font, size and line spacing.  The default values are not suitable for a large part of what I do and I'd like to find a way of quickly and easily, either make the changes permanent or change this to open with a single click of mouse or at most two.  Any suggestions?

    It is the "best" solution to workaround.  After you change your Default.rtf custom, simply move it to your system32 directory and add the "Default.rtf" at the end of the location of your target on the property sheet for your file WordPad.exe.

    Every time that you open its default location in the directory c:\program files\windows NT\Accessoires WordPad.exe, it defaults to now your Default.rtf custom.

  • How to make the default text size and line spacing in small Sticky Notes?

    How to make the default text size and line spacing in small Sticky Notes

    Hello

    I suggest that you try the method below and check if it helps.

    Method 1: analysis of auditor of file system (CFS)

    System File Checker is a Windows utility that allows users to find corruptions in Windows system files and restore the damaged files. To perform a scan of the SFC, check out the link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833.

    Note: the steps for Windows 8/8.1, works perfectly with Windows 10.

    Method 2: clean boot

    A clean boot is executed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This will eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program, an update or when you run a program in Windows. Follow the link to perform the clean boot: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135.

    Hi Tanuj.

    I actually understand it. Not the best user friendly system. Where as before (CS5), I just had to go to crop tool and choose the dimensions and the inches now it in the window. Just really complicated for nothing.

    Thanks anyway Tanuj

  • Find out which parent table and column is referenced by FK

    That is the problem. From user_constraints, you can get the foreign keys and the tables where they were defined, but I couldn't find the tables kinships, which reference foreign keys. Where can I get this information?

    Discover the R_OWNER and the R_CONSTRAINT_NAME from USER_CONSTRAINTS view.

    You can do a self-join on these columns to USER_CONSTRAINTS for parent information.

    Here's a post I made earlier that you can probably change to get all the information you need: {message identifier: = 3704338}
