Finder and calendar do not show on macbook pro

When I try to see the screens of the Finder or calendar, nothing is displayed. I solved it once by resetting the PRAM, but now the continuous content to stay hidden. The problem started with Yosemite

Try to reinstall the combo update download OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

on top of what you have.  This should leave everything in place and restore you applications.

As always good to have a backup plan current up.

In case of failure to settle the issue reinstall OSX on top of your OSX, then update.
