Firefox cannot connect
Suddenly, Firefox will connect any more. Done IE. The fact of Thunderbird. The last thing I remember is that I went to one of my regular sites (a local news station) and a message came saying that want to load something. I refused.
This is an error message in the console: error: Components.classes['@mozilla.org/extensions/manager;1 "] is not defined"
Source file: chrome://dotnetassistant/content/bootstrap.js
Online: 33
I ran two separate virus scan, deleted the .js files, restarted with modules out, deleted the extensions and uninstalled and installed the whole program... NOTHING!
It is not a virus problem. This message indicates that you have an add-on installed which is not compatible with the current version of Firefox.
You seem to have installed Windows 7, so you must have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installed SPI. That being the case, download this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/microsoft-net-framework-assist/

Firefox cannot connect to a local server subdomain if no available network connection.
Hello
I have a laptop that is configured as a local server using Apache. On this, I use "localhost" as the domain and have several subdomains.
Now, if I have no network connection (to any other device) available on this laptop, and then with Firefox I am only able to access the domain 'localhost', but none of the subdomains and get a "Server not found" error on these. If I have a network connection, I can access the domain and subdomains with no problems. What it could be and what can I do to make it work without a network connection?
I also tried with Opera and Chrome, and they can access subdomains anyway.
Unfortunately however I prefer Firefox, then Yes... I am here.Kind regards

I installed Firefox 5 on my laptop a little ancient running Vista. Firefox starts and works fine; He just failed to connect to the Internet so I'm forced to use IE (e.g. to send this request). I suspect that there is some obscure settings somewhere in the system that blocks access to Internet of Firefox.

A few days ago Firefox has stopped working when you use the shortcut or exe. file. The message http://en-gb.start3.mozilla.com/firefox?client=firefox-a & rls = org.mozilla: en - GB:official appears, even if when I paste this address in internet explore it works. What is preventing firefox to connect?
One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox without you informing on this subject, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.
Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox.

Delete a few files TEMP this morning and AOL and Firefox no longer works. AOL will again and removed all traces of the first installation of Firefox and downloaded a new version of Firefox. The program opens, but it immediately goes into a status of "not responding" and appears in the tab 'connection '. Cannot click on anything on the Firefox screen. Need to go to the Task Manager to kill the program. Have removed and reinstalled several times. Disconnected the firewall and antivirus. Again and always get the same result. Tried in safe mode. Same result. Going on 8 hours of work on this thing. Need help badly. The system is a version update of XP.
Thank you all, but I gave up. Tried all the suggestions without success. Put at disposal of the HDD with Windows XP and the problem of Firefox and loaded Windows 7 on a new drive. I had saved a file backup Favorites from the XP machine and successfully migrate the new hard drive. Thanks again.

Firefox cannot connect to google in the search bar
I recently had an attacker change the IP address of the DNS server in my router to a bad. When it has been changed, I couldn't access google or facebook. I have fixed and can browse both sites, but the search bar in the upper right won't take me to google. I get an "Unable to connect" error. Do other search engines (e.g. wikipedia) is very good.
Firefox 37 right out of the box (+ router nonsense) on Ubuntu 14.
Time seems to have fixed. Maybe the https / /google.com ip has been in cache or something.

Firefox cannot connect to internet after some time to be on
Hello
I posted this question some time ago and since I don't have any solution for work and I still have this problem, I am reposting now. My problem is simple: I start my computer and open Firefox. I browse the internet normally. No problems so far. But lets say I'm going to take a NAP or I stop just from browsing for something else on the computer without closing Firefox or whatever. After a while, I go back to browsing the Firefox (the same window with the same tabs are always open) but now no page will finish loading regardless of how long wait.
I close Firefox and open it again. Next, I get an error popup stating that Firefox is still ongoing and I need to shut it down. When I close this pop-up window then I get another error saying it is impossible to load my profile. I got that close and reopen Firefox. Now, it loads pages normally again but only for 1 or 2 minutes, and no more after that. I repeat the process and I still get the same results until I restart my computer.
I checked for any viruses and I have nothing at all, and there is absolutely no problem with my overall connection since no other programs have this problems only Firefox. What can I do?
Thank you.
IM Edit: The problem right now and I just checked but looks like some tabs to work and others do not so I don't really understand.

Safari/Firefox cannot connect to the server
I'm trying to solve a problem, preventing a browser (Safari, Firefox), to access a website... because the same message appears «...» Unable to connect to the server. Could not open the page "http://www...". "' because... unable to connect to the server", not for all websites... just some, is this likely to be other than a virus/spyware/mailware question? I ran Etrecheck and have the following report:

To update Firefox - now, it does not connect what either. I have RESET firefox, restarted the PC, disabled all extensions, and changed the proxy for any proxy settings. IE works fine.
dbernarducci Hello, normally these problems are caused by a security/firewall software which does not recognize and therefore blocks the new versions of firefox. If please delete all the rules of the program for firefox to your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.
