Firefox closes itself.

Just installed FF on a Windows 7 computer brand new. I let a few Flash pages running overnight. In the past, it was OK. Now I find when I return to the computer just FF went down to the taskbar icon. By clicking on this starts a new session of FF. Not sure how long it works before you stop.

Problem seems to have fixed itself, has not yet arrived.

After struggling with this for a while I realized it was "Constant guard Protection Suite" Comcast / infinity has been shutdown Firefox. Apparently, this happened when CGPS has started up or when Firefox started upward. This happened even if CGPS has been revealed itself as incompatible with Firefox 26.0 AND Firefox 27.0 and has been automatically disabled. I solved the problem by disabling the autostart of CGPS to start and removing CGPS as an add-on. I contacted CGPS support and told them what the problem is so they can contact you. Or not. I use not anyway CGPS, following security Norton, which is included. Thanks for your time.

  • Firefox closes in response to halfway through loading a page using Windows 10

I tried both 40 and 42 version. Whenever I try to load a Web page, Firefox closes responding to half way through. I went through modules. I went through all the articles help and nothing has worked. The problem started after I installed Windows 10 and often happens on Politico and Fox News. I tried to uninstall and reinstall. After uninstalling, I scanned the registry with ccleaner

I think I have set myself. When I started this evening I had the option of updating Firefox. After doing this, everything seems to work properly. Thank you

  • Firefox closes all my tabs on stop and do not open them again when I restart, how to fix?

When I shut down for the day, Firefox close all my tabs and not resume at startup. I get a message asking if I want to close all tabs. How do I keep my firefox tabs? I have Windows 7 if it's of any help. And I'm in Firefox v 26.0.

In case you use "clear history of Firefox closing:

    • do not erase browsing history

Note that compensation "Preferences of Site" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, windows pop up, installation of software and passwords.

Use "Firefox > output" (Windows: Firefox/file > quit;) Mac: Firefox > quit Firefox. Linux: Firefox/file > exit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing by clicking on the X close in the title bar of Firefox.

  • Windows Firefox close but said she is still ongoing.

Sometimes when I close Firefox then try to reopen it, I get a window saying there is another Firefox close Firefox or restart the computer running. (or something like that). I go to Task Manager and nothing is there, so I have to restart. I use Firefox 8.0 running Vista 32 bit, I did a complete wipe and reinstall even improved to 7-8 and the problem came back. For more information, you can contact me at [email protected] Thank you

Try to wait a little longer before you reopen Firefox to give Firefox more time to close completely.

Try using ' Firefox/file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave ";) Linux: "file > exit ') to close Firefox if you're doing that by clicking on the X close in the title bar.

  • I lose half my usernames registered whenever Firefox closes and they are always the same!

The names of registered users who disappear are all of the type "https".

Firefox is not even asking if I want to save the user name and password.

Do you hear the names and passwords in the password manager or do you mean that you are connected is no longer on to (remember to) Web sites after the closing and restarting Firefox?

If the latter is the case then you have a problem with the cookies that are not maintained or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

    • Websites to remember you and automatically log you in are stored in a cookie.
    • You need a cookie exception allow (Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep this cookie, especially for secure Web sites and if we let the cookies expire when Firefox closes
    • Make sure that you do not remove the navigation, search and download history on Firefox to clear 'Cookies' and 'Site preferences.
  • Firefox closes the tab bad while closing several pages.

It is really hard to describe... OK, let's say I want to look for the logo of firefox via google images. I found a lot of interesting and open results in different tabs. Now, I found a picture that I really like and close tabs that I no longer need. I'm not to change tab active and just pressing cross to close inactive tabs desired. I'm worried for my time and do it automatically fast. After the closure of 2 strips, third tab closes not only itself but it makes my close active tab also.

This produces no matter what pages I use, how many are open, memory usage, etc.. It happens no matter what. There are only 2 terms I need to answer:
    -Close tabs that are inactive
    -Make fast

I would really appreciate some help with my problem because the tab is usually accidentally crash the tab with a lot of text changed. You can imagine how disappointing is it.

    Thank you.

    Thank you all guys!

Simple support App Tabs 5 is faster than I thought and it seems that the problem is resolved for now. Bug fix should be included in the next update, but if you do not want to wait (like me), you can recover the solution from here.

    Better luck.

  • Firefox closes several tabs without telling me

    FF 4.0.1 (updated)
    Windows 7 Home premium (eng)

When you navigate using several tabs, FF doesn't warm me if I close accidentally all the window the upper right part of X. All tabs are closed at the same time.

Here are the things I've already tried (with help):

    Subject: config
    Boolean true default browser.warnOnQuit

    Boolean true default browser.tabs.warnOnClose

browser.tabs.warnOnQuit user value Boolean true (it was missing, I added it)

    Then I tried (with help):
    browser.showQuitWarning-> true
    browser.warnOnRestart-> true

    Will not work.

But then I realized something strange. If I have that a single open browser window, all the tabs are close at the same time by clickin X (top corner). But when I have at least two separate open browser windows, then FF gives me the warning following so Im trying to close the window with several tabs: "confirm close...» You are about to close the tabs [number of tabs open]. Are you sure you want to continue? [x] keep warm me when I try to close multiple tabs... [close tabs] [Cancel] »

And it only works when I have at least two separate browser, open windows. How can I make it work when Im using only a single window with multiple tabs? It drives me crazy because I always accidentally click the X instead of close the tab only and I've lost all the other tabs.

Ed. Even with a FF 12.0a1 (64-bit) and 9 FF now. Reset settings will no longer work! Could you please do something to make it work!

I had the same problem. To resolve this problem, you need to reset the settings of Firefox. To do this, click the Firefox button, go to help and select restart without add-on. A window will appear. Check the reset settings Firefox area, then continue. The warning dialog box should now work.

PS It seems to be a problem with your profile, not Firefox itself. I tried another profile in Firefox (a profile with all of the default settings) and not having a problem.

  • How can I stop Firefox closes when I close the last window open?

I had to get Windows 7 reloaded and my backup was corrupted (i.e., I couldn't use my custom Firefox.) So I downloaded the new Firefox and now it closes automatically when I close the last window opened. I prefer that Firefox stay open until I chose to close it. How to achieve this?

Hello 1DKG, do you mean when you close the last open tab? If yes you can replace it as follows:
enter on: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab. Double-click it and change its value to false.

  • Unable to convince Firefox close several tabs without asking confirmation

Using Linux Mint 13 Maya with Firefox 35.0.1. If I try to close firefox after having several tabs open, I get the message "do you want Firefox to save your tabs for the next time it starts? Check "do not ask next time" has no effect. Next time, he will do the same boring. Went to preferences, tabs and found the box checked to "warn me when closing multiple tabs". Not checked the box, it remains unchecked, but I always get the same annoying message whenever I try to close several tabs. I really don't understand why this might be a desirable feature. I hate a computer program trying to do my thinking for me! Yes hell I want to close all tabs, I clicked on the 'X', I don't? I despise also semi-automatic and almost all the other annoying features trying to do my thinking for me - especially those that I can't turn it OFF. I want my PC to do exactly what I said, LOL!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

If you do not keep the changes after a reboot or have problems with preferences, see:

You can watch the resignations and warn the prefs on the topic: config page.

    • browser.showQuitWarning
    • browser.warnOnQuit
    • browser.tabs.warnOnClose

  • I can't watch videos from Netflix, YouTube. Firefox updated itself and I had problems of hue. Flash is updated to 16.0 but it turns off. I use a windows 8

Flash 11.9 needed to be updated so I did and now have 16.0 but the 11.9 is still in my Add ons and continues to turn on say it needs an update and has been blocked. The 16.0 turns off even if I am constantly turning on and off the 11.9. I have no option to delete each plugin despite all the 'help' in the guides online. I get a blank screen on Netflix, its success and miss out on Youtube (depending on if 16.0 has not extinguished itself again) and I can't watch half videos posted on Facebook. It's extremely frustrating and yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled sliver with no change in the situation.

If you use extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) which can block content (e.g., Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that these extensions are not blocking content.

  • My computer will not install FireFox / closes at half way through the extraction

I've only had this problem on my VIZIO CT15-2. It extracts all downloads without any problem, ever. Yet, the Firefox Setup Stubs 22.0 & 29.0.1 (the only ones I downloaded), when I try to install, gets only up to 61% of the extraction. At this point, the Extraction_Window simply closes... No configuration menu. nothing... I tried all kinds of different settings: run as Admin/no administrator, add to the list of programs that bypass firewall, he ran as each version of windows possible. Still nothing...
    My OS: Win7 Home Premium SP1, 64-bit, processor Core i7 1.9 GHz, 4 GB RAM, SSD 265.

I had this problem since I was 1 receipt portable August 2013. The laptop has been renovated and restored to factory settings, when I got it. I removed all malware. I have no virus... Any suggestions?
I prefer using FF on Chrome anyday. So it's more boring. Maybe I can bypass the operating system and find the heel through command? Registry search for older versions of firefox that could be holding upward? It is more strange... Any suggestion would be great!

    Try this instead:

  • Firefox closes all windows

Since the last update for Firefox, whenever I click a link on a page that opens in a new window, if I try to 'X' by this second window, it also closes the page I had just. If I manually open another window for some reason, it seems to work fine. It's only when I get a new window from one link to the other. The TWO Windows always closed. No tabs, but the windows. It is very annoying if I was done with the first page, sure I was. I even tried to minimize the second window open, then right-click in my taskbar to close, but it will always close the original window that I was in when I clicked on the link also. This has happened on MANY sites, I have visited from links.
