Firefox crashes after I open a new tab

Hello
My Firefox crashes whenever I open a new tab (empty). The same phenomenon occurs in safe mode. Here are links to some of the latest crash reports:

What could be wrong?
Thank you.

You might try using a new profile. It might be hard to go at least a whole day without your pets addons, bookmarks, and history... the bookmarks are fairly easy to copy.

Create a new Firefox profile

This is in addition and does not replace your existing settings.

A new profile will be your plugins installed by system (for example, Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions or other customizations. It should also come with fresh data bases of completely fresh settings and a cache folder.

Out of Firefox and start in the profile using Start Manager > Search box (or run) - type or paste the following and press ENTER:

firefox.exe -P

Do not delete anything here.

Any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button to create a profile, assign a name like April8 and ignore the possibility of changing the location of the folder. Then launch Firefox in the new profile that you have created.

It might take some time to determine if the new profile works better than the old. If you want to import your Favorites from your regular profile in the meantime, here's how:

You can use the dialog library (Ctrl + Shift + b or "Show all bookmarks") to access the restore feature. The trick is to know where to find your bookmark backups in your regular profile. After clicking on file... you can paste this into the space of file name and press ENTER to drill down to your profile folders:

%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

The semi-randomly-named folder that has your last backup is generally the one that ends with "failure". Click in that one, and then in the folder bookmarkbackups . Here you can choose the most recently updated to restore file.

Important: restoring a backup bookmark clears all bookmarks currently in your current Firefox profile and replaces it with the contents of the backup file.

In my view, it is also reasonable to install AdBlock Plus, Restorer of classic theme, and Status4Evar, like those who, by themselves, are not likely to be at the origin of this apparently rare problem. But I wouldn't add all your extensions to the time in the new profile, and if many show extensions system installed, you can disable those you don't actually use.

  • Half a second activity in Firefox 50 after that opening a new window/tab that could be due to malicious software?

    Hello world

    After you open a new window or tab, Firefox 50 engages often in half a second to load the empty page before it allows me to enter an address. Could this be the suspicious activity of malware?

    To show you, I recorded a video of him:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/drvmzrqqqjnopvo/Firefox%20page%20Loading.mov?DL=0

    It also happens if NoScript, my single extension, is disabled.

  • Firefox crashes when you open a blank tab

    Only in the last day, I started having problems with Firefox crashing. In the first hour, the problem only seemed to happen when I went to some websites, such as Gmail or YouTube.

    Now, however, Firefox will crash as soon as I open a new empty tab. I am able to start Firefox, and it will show the page to "re-establish the Session. I can use the menu to open, for example, on: supports, but as soon as I do CMD + T to open a new tab, Firefox will crash.

  • New tab - how to type in the url after the opening of new tab?

    Work on Firefox for windows 19.0.2. I imported the firefox profile everything from the old computer to a new one – after importation, a thing is broken:

    -When I open a new tab (topic: setting newtab) it opens a new tab with the tiles of sites previously used well, but I need to click on the address bar of browser-> first while on the machine to another, in my opinion, the default setting is that I can type in the Url bar immediately after the opening of the new tab to any address manually in the browser to the URL (without the need of) (click on the additional url bar)-j' I hope you understand you what I mean). A way to restore this feature?

    Thanks in advance

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

  • How to make Firefox home page to open a new tab when searching?

    I'm a little modify Firefox on: home page and I try to get the home page to be effectively its own app tab. To do this, I need to make sure when I search with him, it opens a new tab to view the results of my research.

    I tried two things so far; I tried to add the attribute target = "_blank" to the < form > tag and I tried adding the attribute onclick = "this.form.target = '_blank'; return true;" " for nested inside the < form > tag < input > tag (I'm guessing the latter is JavaScript lol). I also tried a 'TabSubmit' extension, which has not worked here.

    I know how to change the right page (I change the content of aboutHome.xhtml in omni.ja) and have already changed the stylesheet a little (to underline links when hovering over them and adjusting the discoloration of the Mozilla logo during a flight over it). It comes to the next amendment I wanted to do.

    Any suggestions? Thank you!

    Topic: home use window.location.href = url; to change the location of the current tab.

    This change of window.open (url); and by adding a line at the end of the aboutHome.js file to initialize the localStorage works for me with a registered locally on: homepage.

    function onSearchSubmit(aEvent)
    {
      let searchTerms = document.getElementById("searchText").value;
      if (gSearchEngine && searchTerms.length > 0) {
        const SEARCH_TOKENS = {
          "_searchTerms_": encodeURIComponent(searchTerms)
        }
        let url = gSearchEngine.searchUrl;
        for (let key in SEARCH_TOKENS) {
          url = url.replace(key, SEARCH_TOKENS[key]);
        }
        window.open(url);
      }

      aEvent.preventDefault();
    }

    localStorage["search-engine"]="{\"name\":\"Google\",\"searchUrl\":\"http://www.google.com/search?q=_searchTerms_&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a\"}";
  • In Firefox 5, when I opened a new tab, Firefox doesn't switch to it immediately (unlike previous versions). How to restore this setting?

    When you open a new tab Firefox remains on the old tab and does not switch to the new. I could not fing where correct this (in tools)

    Ah, I see. As far as I know, this behavior is not subject to a preference of the user. My best guess is that an extension or plugin interferes. To test this theory, you can try to use mode without failure of Firefox:

  • Firefox crashes when you open a new window

    Firefox normally opens and runs until I properly - close all windows. When zero windows are present, and I go back to Firefox and ask for a new window, Firefox crashes. To solve the problem I have to force quit the application, which generates an Apple crash report. Occasionally Firefox has crashed on its own and generated a Mozilla crash report, but this is rare. I tried to disable all add-ons, but that has no effect.

    As long as there is at least one Firefox window opens, the functions of the application normally. This problem only occurs when going from zero windows to stop.

  • Safari ceased to autofocus on the address bar after you open a new tab

    The problem just appeared out of the blue (no prior of note that I can remember happening to OS X, or Safari).

    I know this may seem like a minor issue, but a heavy user of Safari would accept this quirk would be annoying bloody.

    I use the latest public version of El Capitan (10.11.4) on a rMPB and an iMac (the two are sitting in the same local network on both machines, I'm the only user), and the question seems to have emerged more or less simultaneously on both devices.

    No beta updates have been applied, all system updates have been installed via the official Apple App Store.

    • I tried resetting Safari Preferences to open new tabs in a page empty (like some suggested users before), but which resulted in nothing. Also, I tried to disable all extensions and completely ban Internet plug-ins.

    • The problem persists when you connect as a guest and when you restart the system startup.

    This phenomenon has never occurred to me before.

    If anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this problem, I would be very grateful to restore softness to my workflow.

    Thanks in advance.

    -Alex.

    Hello..

    Given that this is happening on two Macs restart your modem router and internet Wi - Fi, restart the Mac and then try Safari.

  • How can I get Firefox to stop to open a new tab, every time I hit him "print preview" of an email?

    Tab and various favorite sites open right on the top of the window in screen printing, the print screen blocking window while I to x on the tab print my email.

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

  • I want to open a new tab, but keep the cursor in the adressbar. Right not every time I open a new tab, I come to a page with google search and the firefox logo.

    Everytime I open a new tab, I'm greeted by this page

    http://blog.Mozilla.org/UX/files/2012/05/Firefox-beta-13-redesigned-About_Home-Page1.PNG?128c42

    Is a small problem for me, because when I want the cursor at the beginning in the adressbar. So, if for example, I opened a new page, I type in imdb.com I receive directly on imdb.

    Today, however, with the Home tab firefox screen. I have to do a google search for imdb.

    A small problem perhaps, but enough to be annoying.

    Is there a way to move the settings or something similar, and keep the cursor in the address bar after you open a new tab?

    Hello

    If you only want the new tabs do not have home page, you can change it by going in your Subject: config page and replacing "browser.newtab.url" Subject: vacuum. For me at least, if I open a new tab on a white page, the cursor remains the address bar.

    In order to change your Firefox Configuration please follow the following steps:

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config

    and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.

    1. Click on I'll be careful, I promise! to keep the comments: config page.

    If you also want to change your home page to a blank page, you can do so in virtue:

    • (on Windows) Tools > Options > general, or
    • Menu

      > Options (preferences on Mac and Linux) > general

    Then change the dropdown to "when Firefox starts:"so that it is set to 'Show a blank page'.»

    Note that you can continue to do research on the awesome bar and search bar where you want to do a Google search.

    Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • When I open a new tab, I have to click in the navigation bar before writing in it. I want to be able to write in the new tab directly when I open it.

    Before I did a reset of firefox every time I open a new tab with ctrl + n, that I could write to it directly, now I have to click on the area of navigation to be able to write to it. I use Firefox on Windows 7 25.0.1.

    Hello again, now recently the problem has corrected it self. I haven't changed anything at all except to, I changed the browser.newtab: newtab and after that, I was able to write in the searchfield directly. More while I did nothing at all.

    But thanks for the help anyway!

    Uninstallation and removal of extensions
    Firefox restarted in safe mode without addons/extensions.
    Uninstalling/updating flash/adobe

    Can I start firefox, but when I press on the "+" to open a new tab Firefox closes and the ' Mozilla Crash report ' window opens.
    It seems that firefox it self can open a tab. For example, when I do a new installation, Firefox opens with 2 tabs.

    But when I want to open one that it breaks down and Firefox stops. Its really weird because I've never run this kind of problem before and I don't remember installing anything new until this problem appeared.

    What is the setting of the new tab page?

    You can check the browser.newtab.url pref on the topic: config page.
    You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
    You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.
