  Yep, those are reports of error ID's, but they are a bit bland - 38.0.5 for that charge very quickly.

  Use help > about Firefox to trigger an update of Firefox 40.0 which has lots of Windows fixes 10 of compatibility on the previous version.

  I recently had a new hard drive installed on my laptop and since then I had problems with Firefox crashing when the files are downloaded, when I try to change the download options in Options, when I have a lot of tabs open, etc. I scanned for malware with several different programs and I did a clean uninstall and reinstall of Firefox and the problem persists most (can download files sometimes now, but it hangs still at other times).   Hey furdeal - if you want a fresh start, you can simply reset firefox. This will keep your bookmarks, passwords and history, but will remove all extensions and custom preferences.

  This seems to happen even when I start Firefox in safe mode.

  I also tried refreshing Firefox and do a new installation of Firefox, but none of these troubleshooting steps solved the problem.

  Hmm, so I recently had my hard drive is not on me, and I had to reformat and any transfer during a backup of my laptop. Since then, Firefox seems to work very well yet. Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

  As of today, after that firefox grabbed the 38.0.1 update, it always crashes when I open gmail. It's probably on the GoogleTalkPlugin. Apart from that, firefox always crashes when trying to play any video Vimeo or SoundCloud audio. This has happened since the 37.x; I have been using firefox in paralyzed avoiding only webpages with Vimeo or SoundCloud built-in mode (even if it is a gene).   From firefox in safe mode causes the crash even. A few lines of log in the console are:

  This looks like a problem with GStreamer.
  You could test this by activating / deactivating false media.gstreamer.enabled on the topic: config page.

  Make sure you have the latest updates of GStreamer and update your version of Linux, if this version is older or is no longer supported.
