Firefox does not exe download. files

After a few days when I select 'download' it shows OK in the list of download but says 'Cancelled' so I try again and it downloads ok (I think), but I cannot open it. I looked at several options in the forum and the settings saved in SafeMode etc but the error persists. I v tried to re-download Firefox but the problem remains. I have no antivirus. I am running Vista 32 bit.

You have all of the installed extensions that could interfere with the download feature in Firefox? This article explains how you can disable or uninstall modules: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-or-remove-add-ons

Another "If nothing else works" method you might want to try is to reset Firefox - it resets the common default Firefox settings when recording your personal data such as your bookmarks and passwords: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-preferences-fix-problems?s=firefox+reset & r = 0 & as = s

Hope this helps!

• Recently, Firefox does not display PDF files. It acts like it loads the PDF file, but there is nothing there but the "program" that the document should be presented in.

This started with 20 Firefox and persists with Firefox 21. It's never happened before. Everything is up-to-date. However, PDFs don't appear. Sometimes I see the bar indicating a load of progression and sometimes it of just the normal program PDF background, but no matter, he does not appear. What is happening with this?

Moreover, I will eventually switch to Chrome to view the PDF file as I can't make them work in Firefox.

Thank you very much. That seems to work. What a shame the preview version of Firefox is not longer functional!

• Firefox does not start .oam file with scrolling parallax effect and if y > 740

Hello!

I try to explane my problem. If I place a parallax scrolling page of a lively .oam file, the .oam file does not start (as in firefox!) if the file is higher than y = 740 and if the animation with a scrolling parallax effect.

Maybe just visit this site, you can see the problem. Please look with firefox!

http://OAM-test.BusinessCatalyst.com/index.html

I placed three times exactly the same oam-file with the same scrolling Parallax effects, but with different positions only y

in safari and IE, no problem. but the third CAO does not start in firefox.

any suggestion?

by the way... Why firefox cannot load fonts in the oam file?

Thank you very much in advance for any help. really need a solution as soon as possible. If there is no way to do it with oam-file perhaps another format without flash (gif)?

Kind regards

Ivo

To work around the problem, you can configure initial field scroll to 1, it works with the third file oam.

Thank you

• After you download the update of Firefox 25.0.1 Firefox does not open. Help! Thank you!

I downloaded the update for 25.0.1 and he ran. Instead of restarting, I stop the laptop (Vista Home SP2, 64-bit).
When I started the laptop again, I tried to open Firefox, but Norton Internet Security leader Insight could not check the update as a reliable file and did not allow for Firefox open.
I tried to disable file Insight but got the same results.
I ran Live Update to update Norton Internet Security and then tried to open Firefox again.
This time this Norton Internet Security displays a message saying that updater.exe wasn't careful and eliminated.
When I try to open Firefox, Norton now detects Updater 25.0.0.5046, said he trusted, but Firefox does not open.
I want to save the history if possible.
How can I get Firefox to work with recorded history again?
Thank you!

Hi iamjayakumars - I was not able to create a new profile, because the Profile Manager does not open. A message from Norton seems "Updater.exe is sure.", but nothing else would happen.
But - the links you sent were very helpful, and I was able to solve the problem by making a UN-installing and then re - install Firefox:
1. backup of the profile.
2. download the installer of Firefox from Mozilla.org with another browser.
3. un-install Firefox from the control panel (ensuring "Delete my personal Firefox and customizations data" was NOT selected.)
4 reinstall Firefox.
Firefox starts successfully with all my old settings and all the tabs I had open the last time it was used appeared as I had hoped.
Thanks a lot for your help!

• Firefox does not open, and when I try to use the "run", it says that the file has been moved, etc. I use Windows 8 and I can't lose my favorites. Help?

Firefox has been great to work on my computer for months and then suddenly he could not load pages. So, naturally, I restarted my computer, but when it restarted Firefox does not open. The icon lights for a bit as usual, then it fades and never actually opens. When I try to use the "run" command, I get this error:
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer or on a network. Make sure that the disc is inserted correctly, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it can't be located, the information may have been moved to another location. »
I also tried the same thing for the file in the x 86 folder, but it gave the same error and I went and looked for the files in the given location and they were there.
Firefox is not to fall down, so he isn't there an other error message, I can give you.
The things that I had my favorites are really important, I can not lose those, but I am fine with anything else have to re-installed, etc..
Help please?

I've never tried it myself, but the forum has a series of measures for a "clean reinstall" Firefox. Even if you do not delete the record of your personal settings (AKA profile) during this process, a backup of this folder is always a good idea in case something goes wrong.

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
• Windows:

• C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
• C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
• Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
• Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

• Firefox does not load the password files

Firefox uses two files to load and store passwords:
signons3.txt and sign. Lite
The two files are present in the profile and both are filled with relevant information of password. However, the password manager, which is located under Options, remains empty. When I opened the Web pages that require passwords, and which I know for sure that they are in the files of passwords, firefox does not work shall complete them boxes apprioriate. Logical, as the passwords are not loaded in password manager

Additional information:
When I now save a password for a Web page, it does not store the information and fills the boxes on the Web page.
[This problem occurred when setting back the old profile [copy - paste] in the right folder I found through cards help-resolution of problems-show]

No I have not thought about it.
Make a copy of the entire profile.
copy the old information in the newly created profile

Took an old signons3.txt from backup
Has taken the last signon.lite that contains all of these passwords
Both of these placed files [Replace] in the new profiel

and voila. Everything is back
