Firefox mobile Firefox 9 10

I'm moving my profile of 9 Firefox on a win xp machine to a win machine with Firefox 10 7. I changed a number of profiles of Ff since xp machines to xp, but I can't get this problem is resolved. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Richard

Are you familiar with the location of the profile folder has changed?

Win XP and W2K:

drive: \Documents and Settings\username Windows login\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profile_name

Vista and Win7:

drive: \Users\Windows login user name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profile_name

It's usually that throws new Vista or Win7 users for a loop when updating of W2K and WinXP.

    Catch 22 defined.

You do not need an account of Firefox to use Firefox, simply there if you want to use the synchronization service to synchronize bookmarks and other data between your desktop Firefox installation and your mobile installation. (I don't personally use Sync, not since the installation of office has a lot of old baggage that bogged down my mobile.)

  • Firefox for android mobile phone said app can access the following on your phone... take pictures and videos? Is there a work around? If not have to uninstall.

I have Firefox for my laptop and wanted to use it on my phone Android mobile phone. When I saw under permissions that the application can access photos and videos and can take photos and videos that seemed very odd. Does anyone know of a work around to keep the app to take photos and videos without my permission? I do not want to uninstall but can allow the intrusion of privacy.

We have a help article about why this permission is here: how Firefox for Android uses the requested permissions?

Specifically, some sites may give you the option to attach or embed an image directly from the camera instead of going through a folder of pictures already taken. In order to support this feature, Firefox requires permissions to access the camera. However, according to this article, Firefox will ask your permission before leaving the site to use the camera. I don't think I have ever seen this in action.

  • How can I configure Firefox Mobile to open webpages in default drive mode, so I use less resources and phone?

Maybe that is not an existing function, but I imagine that there is a setting for that somewhere in all: config. I want pages on my mobile to open in default drive mode, so that the player display button is pushed to turn this mode off, rather than on.

I want to do this for two reasons: first, so that the pages will not load not all ads (I'm particularly concerned about video ads) that sap resources from my phone and increase my use of data; and second, so that pages that are not optimized for mobile devices (which is a pretty large majority of pages that I tend to visit) will open in a more readable format.

I'm on a stand with a pricing plan based on consumption for data, so I want to use as little data as possible when you're away WI - FI. How can I view default drive Firefox Android opens pages to?

Mode reader must download the entire page before being able to analyze. It does not reduce the bandwidth used. An extension like adblock or uBlock hangs the content before it is downloaded.

  • Firefox for Android only displays the desktop version of gmail rather than mobile.

    Android only question.

I prefer to access gmail via a browser rather than the gmail app. Tests of other browsers on Android (Chrome and Dolphin) I see that they display a mobile-specific version of the gmail Web site.

Firefox for Android only displays the version of office on my Nexus 7 (5.1 runs Android 2012) - and therefore more difficult to read and use. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well, Yes, it's that Word annoying Tablet.

What I'm going to describe is difficult to type, so I hope that you can open this page on your tablet.

Select (0) and copy the following text on your Tablet if possible to avoid the excesses of type:

    general.useragent.override.mail.google.com Android; Tablet;#Android; Mobile;

The forum linkifies this first part, but it is not supposed to be a link.

    (1) open a new tab to Subject: config (type about: config the Awesomebar and hit the arrow go or tap Enter).

You can bookmark it for easy future access.

    (2) in the search box, type agen and make a pause while Firefox filter list

    (3) scroll down to the bottom and look for a preference named general.useragent.site_specific_overrides and confirm that it has its default value true. If it is set to false, press the reset button for it back to true.

    (4) scroll back up and press the big button "+" to the left of the search box to add a new parameter

    (A) the name of the preference must be general.useragent.override.google. com (for all Google sites) general.useragent.override.mail.google. com (for Gmail only)

If you type this, beware of the correction automatic insertion of spaces and be sure to remove those.

If paste, remove the part after that.

    (B) on the right side, type Boolean and in the popup, change it to a String

    (C) the value of the preference should be Android; Tablet; #Android; Mobile; -in other words, substituting Mobile for Tablet.

If you type, pay attention to the excess spaces.

If gluing, remove the preference name and extra space before this part.

    (D) then click on create

If you open https://mail.google.com/ must now use the mobile layout.

    Success?

Edit: To clarify the name of preference options.

  • There is no button menu on Firefox soon my device android mobile. How do you get options to set a homepage without access to the menu?

I'm trying to set up a homepage on my Android mobile device. All changes must have access via the menu. It works fine on my desktop computer, but there is no menu button on the mobile version.

    Hi rcbeeman39:

    1. Some Android devices have a menu built directly into the device button. In these cases, Firefox for Android cache added to the menu. You can always access the Firefox menu by pressing the menu button on the unit OR
    2. Hardware menu button is usually located at the bottom of the unit, next to the home, search and navigation buttons.
    3. Lots of information, including screenshots https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-menu-icon-missing-android-how-access-menu
    4. If the above does not help, please, let us know your model number Android phone or Tablet (S4? HTC One? (etc), operating system Android version (jellybean 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, kitkat lollipop 5.0, e tc) and exactly what you were doing, what happened and what you expected
    5. Finally, there is no way supported "setting a homepage" on Firefox for Android. The 3rd party unsupported host changer module can work for you: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/home-changer/?src=search also, you can see the start screen customization can be good enough: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-awesome-screen-search-web-bookmarks-and-more

Fingers crossed the foregoing allows just a little!

  • Security: Firefox for mobile phishing and fake Web site

Firefox for Android mobile load the page title on the URL space.

If a fake site Web put the name of the page as the user of the website address can be confused.

Suppose that the Bank Web site is www.mybank6567.ext

The fake site may be fakebank.ext this Web site can have a SSL and the name of the page on mybank65.ext can be the url of the originating bank.

If the user opens hidden mobile Firefox link can be easily confused.

Look try to open this URL from Firefox Mobile on Android https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/405 you must be logged on github.com after loading the page, if you see on top, it seems to be on the right site of the Bank, there is the simbol of lockpad, and the address that you read is the address of the Bank. You can delete all data stored in Firefox with a specific area through "Forget this Site" in the context menu of a history entry ("" history > view history "or" view > sidebar > History "") or via the subject: permissions page.

Using "Forget this Site" will delete all data stored in Firefox in this area as bookmarks, cookies, words of past, cache, history, and exceptions, so be careful and if you have a password or other data from that domain you don't want to lose then check that back up these data or make a comment.

You can't recover from this "forget" unless you have a backup of the files involved.

It has no lasting effect, so if come back you on such a 'forgotten' site, then the data of this Web site will be saved once more.

  • Mobile Firefox is unable to filter the results of google by date

I have mobile Firefox installed on my Nexus 4 side by side with Google Chrome browser. When I do a search on google in mobile Firefox I can't filter results by date, but I can't in Google Chrome browser.

    What Miss me?

The function to filter the results of google by date is missing from the mobile firefox browser?

    Thank you

It seems to be part of Google's strategy to dominate the world to retain some features of other browsers. I don't know if there is a solution to force search tools to display in mobile Firefox, but you can try the strategy adopted by another user faced with a deficit of function and use the fake extension to lie to the sites on which browser you use.

  • Delete Firefox Mobile Apps

I don't know why it's hard. I tried a few apps Firefox Mobile and now I want to delete them. Here is what I tried:

I went to Menu > tools > Apps. A screen my apps. Tapping we open it. Press and hold on SELECTS (it gives me the ability to cut, copy, search for, or share the name of the application). Long press don't give me the option to delete the app.

I also tried clicking "Browse the Marketplace of Firefox" button and going to the "My applications" section I tried mobile first, and he ordered me to make a new username and password. After that, it always returned an error 'the server is under extreme load.'

I managed to make an account of my desktop browser market, but the section of my Apps shows "you have not applications.

So, how to remove these apps that I made with?

Thank you, but I actually use Firefox Mobile on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, not Firefox OS.

I was finally able to remove every apps app by pressing on and now the icon in the app drawer , then drag it to the button uninstall.

Uninstall did not work from these locations:

    • The home screen (long press gave option to remove the icon but not uninstall)
    • "Your applications" screen in Firefox (long press gave ability to cut/copy the name of the app)
    • 'My applications' section of the marketplace of Firefox (says "You have no apps")
    • Screen of the Firefox app on the market (Showed a "Launch button" but not "Uninstall" button")

It seems that the only way to uninstall a Firefox on Android app is by the Android app. It would be much more intuitive that apps could be uninstalled Firefox on the market like the shop game, or 'Your applications' in Firefox Mobile.
