Firefox no longer works
Hello, about a week or two ago, Firefox has stopped working. All I get is "problem loading page: connection has expired. This has been my default browser for years and have never had this problem. At first, I thought it was the internet connection, but all browsers IE, Chrome and Safari work. I loaded the upgrade hoping that would fix it, but not always. I have also 'reset Firefox' according to the troubleshooting help. It still does not work. Any thoughts?
Hello, normally these problems are caused by a security/firewall software which does not recognize and therefore blocks the new versions of firefox. If please delete all the rules of the program for firefox to your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.

Blocklisting extension on Firefox no longer works, what do I do?
I noticed that the extension blocklisting no longer works on Firefox. I checked the extension.blocklist options in topic: config and all of them are set to default values. My other laptop has still the extension blocklist working, but the one that I use does not work. Anyone know what files are associated with the extension blocklisting? Because I want to be sure that the blocking of the extension doesn't work, just in case I have download a malicious add-on or extension. I have already two Add-ons that are on the red list, but Firefox is not blocking them, which are: MetaStream 3 Plugin 3.2.2.26 and McAfee SiteAdvisor 3.4.1.123
Nevermind, I fixed the problem. There were some defective files in AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\nuutfn45.default\
The following files were defective:
Name: blocklist.xml
Question: He had less blocklisted than other plugins, MetaStream 3 Plugin 3.2.2.26 did not appear in the blocklist.xml and it did not display the warning "MetaStream 3 Plugin has been disabled due to problems of stability or security." Blocklist.XML also highlights the entries in pluginreg.dat tell Firefox what Add-ons to remove the toggle button, which is normal. But if the add-on is not listed, then the entry in pluginreg.dat display toggle button.Name: pluginreg.dat
Question: This plugin didn't remove the button toggle a blocklisted plugin as it should normally, if I could activate the MetaStream 3 Plugin whenever I wanted to.Name: pluginreg.dat.bak
Question: This file is a backup of the file pluginreg.dat defectiveSo if anyone has a problem with blocklisting not activated as it should, then delete the files that I listed above.

The same thing with any other search engine. Search normally works on IE.

Using Firefox 28 and after a few minutes, that Gmail doesn't work anymore and Google search is just like his work for about 30 seconds and then does nothing. The problem that happened some time but seems to be worse again last week or both. I read the old thread on this topic and nothing seems to work. A solution has been found for this problem? I can't be restarted my browser every 3 minutes while he was working on a research paper!
I use Firefox for many years, but I need my e-mail access and will use another browser if I have to.
Well, clear cookies and cache again and again does not work.
In addition, Firefox stops working with many sites now and I'm tired of this close every 3 minutes. So, this morning, my solution was to import my bookmarks in Google Chrome and it worked. After using Firefox for many, many years, I now have to use Google Chrome.

Hello
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.
You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).
Then perform the following steps:
- Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
- In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
- You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
- Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

18 Firefox no longer works with Mac OSX Mountain Lion v10.8.2
I've been running FireFox v17 with Lion mountain (OSX 10.8.2) without any problem.
The automatic updater to Mozilla asked that I've upgraded to FireFox v18, but since the installation of Mozilla FireFox crashes immediately.
The browser opens, but then does nothing. If you enter a URL, and then nothing happens. It shows just a continuous empty screen.
I wanted that other users of Cougar aware of this problem and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Mozilla, check this bug and to provide an update and the solution.
I use Chrome in the meantime, I don't really like as a developer.
In the end I had to remove the full FireFox Application including all files and folders. Now everything works after new installation.
Thanks for everybodies help and advice.

I've upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 and firefox no longer works
OK, so I've updated my Ubuntu from 11.10 to 12.10. Now that firefox is not running. All it does is stuff in the first tab. If you open another tab and attempt to leave the tab page, or if you open a link in a new tab it simply refuses to leave the tab page. What happens here? I mean, it worked perfectly in 11.10, what past?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.
See "create a profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

FireFox no longer works with the search by address Hotmail... SOLVED
It is just a recent problem in three or four days, but when I answered an ANSWER email or compose a new email or the address of the sender will appear in FireFox or address search will appear. The list of email addresses can be found under this product BUT is instantly under Internet Explorer. You have a work around?
Maybe a little tweaking is in order. Shockwave and Java have been exceeded and need to re-setup on mine! Took some effort with restarts, but it is obvious that it solved my problems! Mozilla Firefox toolbar 'Help' > "Help Firefox" > bottom right of the page shows the link to the review of the update of the Plugin...

I ran avg 2012. Now that Firefox is not running. Checked through support got a current download at AVG firewall and trying to remove then add then click on... He says then go to the firefox installation directory (where is that) go to the Mozilla Firefox Firefox\ program and select firefox.exe. etc. That's where I stopped.
Firewall says firefox authorized. Being a nullgeek I stopped because I don't want to cause more damage. I also tried to download the latest version of Firefox and that nothing resolved.
I am currently using Internet Explorer.
I need to walk through it.One possible cause is security software (firewall, antivirus) that prevents or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.
Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

Firefox 33.1 constantly no longer works and indicates "Not responding."
Firefox no longer works (hang up) and reports program is "Not responding" frequently - sometimes every few minutes. Audit memory shows that this is not a problem. I don't want to reset Firefox to factory settings and lose the customization. This problem has worsened since version 31. I think it happens more often when I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking while on the Internet, but I can't prove it. Would that the comments of others who have had the same experience. Now, using version 31.1.1.
It was very good work. Play well.
Please mark your last post as solved so other will know. -
Firefox does not work. Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and it still will not open.
Do not get the error messages. At first it would take a long time to open, or several times I had to click the icon so he can start. Now after several times to uninstall, reinstall and restarted my computer, Firefox no longer works for me at all.
I did at first and did not have much. All of a sudden when I was on IE Firefox just starting up. I don't know if it was a hiccup or something, but he has just come. Now it's working.
