• Export to epub "a fixed provision" puts the same page on multiple pages

  Have books with 50 pages I want to export to ePub files. All pages have a mounted pdf or a jpg, so no book its complex. Exported and open in iBooks, the cover is 40-45 pages and fix them, then only 4 pages with content. Y at - it a bug or what it might be? Tried 3 different books and content and got the same result. In the xhtml file ID is the cover... If it's written wrong page number and also lack of export the right page at all... Anyone with the same result?

  Thanks for sharing files. The image is repeated on every page in the case of file imported PDF is a PEFP question (exist in the previous version) i.e. There are recomposable EPUB 9.2 CC.

  This happens only in the case of PDF and not otherwise. The solution is to make changes to the image placed on each page, either in terms of size or attributes such as transparency, line, fill etc.

  I know that workaround is not feasible, but it's the only option to deal with this issue until the moment that this bug is fixed. Please let me know if the problem persists even after doing these steps.

  I have a fixed provision created in ID CC2014 epub that works as expected. The use of kindlegen to create my mobi file. Hyperlinks in text do not work (image links work very well) and @font-face statement does not work.

  The tags are displayed as I expect when I unzip the epub and review the code. I tried to make it simple ID link and edit the code. None worked. I can ad a link tag to an image in the .xhtml file that works as expected. A button hides the text and does not work as well. Is a hyperlink, a known issue with ID EPUB going mobi?

  There is a @font-face in the css file and a folder of fonts containing the fonts there. Is this a known issue with ID EPUB going mobi?

  After a few days to dissect the xhtml and the css generated from the ID, I was able to find a solution by adding TT fonts in the @font face and remove the kit web css for related words. If somebody needs specific information about the workflow, message me and I'll be happy to share.

• Fixed provision ePub - please help me embed videos and/or use overlay Folio with web content

  I have a file In Design to create a printed book (11 "x 11") and decided to use CC 2014 to create a layout fixed ePub 3 for a digital version.  I converted the book on minor issues of having to change the font and it is very beautiful.

  I want to add videos at the end of the book to take advantage of the flexibility of the digital format.  I create a slideshow of my photos year-end and host them on Vimeo.

  I tried the following:

  Using the standard Vimeo include the code in an HTML element

  The use of the old flash Vimeo embed code and conversion to HTML - worked great on iBooks on Mac but not on iPhone/iPad as based on flash

  Accommodation and a link to the videos on my own web server and using the media - link to video mp4 file

  Accommodation and a link to the videos on my old server of smugmug.com photo

  I can integrate real videos, but to their smaller size, they increase the file size of the ePub to 78 MB, 400 MB...

  I thought then that I would use an Overlay Folio - Web Content.

  The idea is to use this blank page on my site that would look for all purposes useful to another white page in the book - 2012 slideshow - Oren photography

  The overlay works in preview but not Folio when exporting as an ePub

  Is this a limitation of the ePub format?

  Any help/advice/suggestions on fixing this are greatly appreciated.

  The format of Vimeo is not supported when you place in InDesign.

  Overlays using Folio is a feature of the DPS, which is not supported in EPUB files.

  With the help of streaming video is not a good idea because it presupposes that the EPUB reader is connected to the Internet. Most people expect an EPUB content will be autonomous.

  I would like to used embedded in MP4 format videos, but use Adobe Media Encoder to Downsample to reduce their file size.

  A slideshow of images should be no problem, and you can create them with the Group of objects. You can create buttons to control the slide show display.

  Have created a fixed provision EPUB with animation and interactivity of InDesign CC. Interactivity and animation work on Apple devices, but not on Android. The reader only Android app which has opened the EPUB was play Google Books, but the animation and interactivity has not worked. If anyone can help?

• ePub (fixed provision) is not on my list of options when I export from InDesign 6 CC

  I am trying to export my file as an ePub (fixed provision), but I am puzzled because when I type 'export' option does not exist! I can export it as an ePub. Each tutorial and scenario troubleshooting that I saw did not this as a problem. Yes, I'm new to InDesign, but I'm a veteran of 15 years photoshop.

  I have a 32 page children's book and my settings are for the ipad and digital publishing.

  The pictures are photoshop .pdf, without layers. The text is a custom called "Burvetica", (but I've created a few files, do not use this or any text, and the same problem.)

  You must upgrade to InDesign CC2015 to achieve this functionality.

• Hyperlinks not exporting only not in ePub fixed provision for InDesign CC 2014

  I have a magazine created by InDesign with links to various external websites.

  When I export to PDF, hyperlinks work very well. But when I export to ePub fixed provision, none of the hyperlinks (site or electronic mail) works. It's as if they were regular text, not something you can click. Here are the links that are created in the hyperlinks Panel.

  I don't see anything in the screen Options that it would affect... at least nothing I recognize. Unless some sort of file Javascript needs to make hyperlinks to work.

  I'm looking at the resultant ePub in iBooks on my Mac and iPad and get the same results.

  Am I missing something easy here?

  I think that several hyperlinks are not yet supported in EPUB 3 fixed provision.

  On page 21 the current limits of the EPUB 3 available are fixed. Don't forget it's version 1 of EPUB 3 fixed provision, and this will probably change in future upgrades:

  Hyperlink text are not currently supported.

  Hyperlinks on PageItems are supported only on the Images and only for the destinations of the URL.

  Note: Hyperlinks to a Page or anchor text are not supported at this time.

• EPub recomposable why is still a mess?

  When I export to ePub layer fixed everything comes out perfect but with recomposable is a mess. Things are never in the right places. I know it must be something I am doing wrong. I use master pages to create the layout I want for some pages, adding page numbers and graphics to enhance the overall appearance of the books. I do this to create printed copies but I would begin to create recomposable ePub files for customers as well. Is there a way to make the finished product come out the same as the indesign file in recomposable format?

  I tried to anchor on the page items and made each page separately with anchor and it came not yet right. What am I doing wrong?

  EPUB recomposable text is quite a different animal to files ePub fixed provision. Their production is not intuitive.

• Page of empty content but thumbnails work and works of ios...? help please

  Hi all

  I've been through training learn how to use the DPS and everything was going a lot up to the... He was not, and still isn't.
  I created a (course material) digital magazine, which has about 5 items. When I got to preview either the items individually or all folio, I get is a blank template - as if its only bringing in the master page. When I click on the thumbnail button (right upper corner in LCA) display it shows the items and content properly. Click again on a page and everything disappears. I have attached a few pictures to show more.
  Does anyone else have this problem? I tried to reinstall, remove files of preferences, update to version 31, but nothing is.

  I would greatly appreciate all the advice I can get.

  Nevermind, I have spent all afternoon scrounging for other posts of forum of the peoples and have made some progress.
  I had to recreate the folio after id tried uninstall, installation, update blah blah all over again.

  Then when importing items, I chose automatic rather than PDF. This open scroll smoothly and a few other options. He has worked up to now properly so I think it was a problem with the selection of PDF.

  I'll keep this updated something else occurs if others find it useful.

  Since Firefox v34, search results page is empty, 1) by clicking a link in a Google search results page and loading of the linked page, 2) Zoom on the text on the page that Google took me and then without resetting the zoom text, 3) by clicking on the arrow of Firefox 'Back' to return to Google search results. If at that time I reload the page of Google results, or click back one page and will transmit then again, the full search results will be displayed then again.

  This happens on my Windows 7 PC as well as my Vista laptop. Is it a glitch with text zoom and Google in Firefox version 34?

  Sorry, this seems to be a problem with the cache in memory of Firefox: when you use a high Google zoom level the (the default setting) with "instant prediction results" then Firefox pips showing again after going back page (you can see the results for a fraction of a second before they white).

  Assuming you like your zoom level and enjoy using the instant prediction results, then the solution is to disable the part of the Firefox cached in memory by changing a setting under the covers.

  (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

  (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste sess and make a pause so that the list is filtered

  (3) double-click the preference browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers and change the value from-1 to 0 (that's a zero).

  (Please change not all other parameters similar to 0-sounding or you can disable the ability of Firefox to save/restore your tabs and windows open).

  Then reload the page of Google results and the test.

  Fixed? (Or should I say, worked around?)

  After you create the doc in the cc of Indesign, I exported to EPUB fixed provision. The result was catastrophic! The images, text, the font size - everything was chaos. I had need of the epub to work in the iPad and android tablets.
  Can anyone help? You must return to my client on priority.

  Hi Ananda,

  Adobe Digital Editions came with a new update 4 ADE. Here you can see your EPUB fixed layout. Please note that ADE 4 on Mac works very well with FXL exported 2014 CC InDesign EPUB, you can see a few question on Windows though. We are aware of the problems and the team is working on fixing these issues with ADE on Windows.

  Readium is also a good player that displays EPUB FXL very well.

• New Indesign (fixed provision) problem (s).

  Has recently created a new ebook in 2014 of CC. Love that they have updated for a layout fixed. However, looking at the file in the Kindle, the police is very low at 18 22 points.

  I have some questions:

  Is there a work around to allow users to define their own font size (as most of the devices allow you to do).

  Or this require me to resize and reflow for each device (kindle, iPhone, computer, meals, etc.)?

  And what is the easiest way to resize and focus 100 + pages if that is the case.

  I tried to resize and page tool, refocus, and it won't take.

  Unfortunately, products from Amazon don't fully supports the EPUB3 format (they are always trying to go their own way).

  If you want users to define their own font size, you must use EPUB recomposable. Fixed Format EPUB is to make EPUB appearance as it does for a print job.

  EPUB recomposable requires much more preparation. See videos of Anne-Marie Concepcion on Lynda.com to discover all of the necessary configuration.

• IDCC saying pages are empty when you try to print

  OK, so I had this kind of problem before, and I've followed all the advice that I would have been on it before and still can't make it work. Basically, I'm trying to print a full page of flood to be printed above on an offset press. There are two layers on the page that contains offset press printing and one that contains the flood. I hid the layer offset press and try to print anything else than the flood. When I do, IDCC tells me that the page is empty. I've checked the attributes of the object object flood fill, and it had disabled unprintable. I've checked the attributes of layers, and he "felt" checked. So, I swapped the attribute of unprintable object, and then on the road to force the ID to change the State of the object. I did the same thing with the impression of the layer attribute. Same problem, so I saved to and then opened an IDML file to try to deal with all the corruption in the file. No luck, it is still saying that the page is empty. (overview of overprinting and page in the pages pane icons show the proper fill flood)

  Could someone please help? I'm pretty sure it's something stupid that I do.

  Certainly not correct. Inscription separates on each plate.

  Add a plate spot for the task of color and the flood zone to overprint. Put it on a layer by itself at the top of the stack, so you can hide while you work.

  I uninstalled 16.0.1 and reinstalled 15.0.1 and everything worked fine, then I reinstalled 16.0.1 and have questions again.
