Flash and the back button

I have a flash application I made where a user can search an inventory of over 30 000 diamonds.

theres really 3 pages (or says) it, 1 place where you inter your criteria, 2 the place where see you diamonds that match your criteria, 3 unique diamond stats you chose in the list on page 2.

I have my own back button in flash to get to destination of the previous flash. but no matter how obvious I did my back button people are just too used to the browsers back button and keep hitting backward and he completely leaves the page with the search for diamonds causes them to lose their search criteria.

I'm looking for a way to do when they hit the back button back to previous state rather than leave the page.

any help is appreciated

Thank you!
