  Unfortunetely Flash is the platform-specific, which means that if you have windows you can not install it on mac.

  Adobe offers cross-platform from Win to MAC but does apply to the current version of delivery. You have to ask for cross-platform upgrade and pay the upgrade price...

  I bought CS2 right before it was packed with Dreamweaver. So I bought Dreamweaver 8 right before CS3 was announced. (Yes, there is a pattern here, I bought a new computer as a student right before USB was announced, and a new Mac, shortly before the Intel chip model was announced - I don't have time to search!) I'm putting on foot in September, but just picked up a post as a teacher of a class at a community college, and that they just install CS3 in the laboratories of yesterday. My question is - if I buy Flash CS3 for my computer at home, it will work seamlessly with Dreamweaver 8, as it would with Dreamweaver CS3? TIA

  You'll be fine. :) The only time that two applications meet is
  When you embed a SWF in an HTML page. Only a pinpoint didn't particularly
  changed, so as far as I can see - well of course each application on its own

• Flash CS3 transparent background

  Okay I tried for weeks on this project, but I know that this is possible. I shot a subject in front of a green screen, and he wants a Flash animation comes from him (the subject) and not substantive. I told her that it could be done. I shot a 1 minute video using old DV cart to make pretty good green screen. I imported the avi clip in Premiere Pro 2 and used the chromakey (button color on some trials) to remove the green screen, while the background was black. I saved and exported in the form of quicktime, compressor codec of animation movie, millions of pix square color. Then, I used Flash CS3 and imported the video to the library by the On2 VP6 codec with the alpha channel selected. I've created two layers, the layer 1 a jpeg image. I have highlighted layer 2, dragged playback FLV to the stage and made sure to layer 2 spoke of layer 1. I saved and tested, but the background is still there. I tried in several ways; recorded a first Pro2 flash file and imported with encoder Flash CS3 using the same steps. I've even loaded and plus version 1.0 of the body and followed a tutorial to the letter. The FLV file plays well, but I do not see the image of layer 1 because the background is black and transparent. All I want is a transparent background where the subject is there no bottom. I have Ultra 2, Visual Communicator, I can make a background of almost anything, but I can't seem to make a transparent background!
  
  Sorry for the long post, but I have this days. I posted this on three other forums (which I pay a monthly fee for expert service) all tell me to do the same thing. I know it must be something small, but anyone would be my hero if they could help me with this one! Thanks - Art

  I find that sometimes to open Flash CS3 or CS4 Flash in Flash CS5 cause scripts to fail or I get strange results.

  You should be able to. CS4 install in a separate Directory of CS4. I currently have a system running suite CS3 and Flash 8 and InDesign CS2 web! From time to time, the system is confused between Flash 8 and Flash CS3 to open when you click on a FLA file in Windows Explorer by default. But apart from that, there is no issue.

  I intend to get CS4 and still keep Flash 8 and CS3, simply because I've been working with people around the world who don't bother to upgrade.

  Gotcha. You have started the document in AS2, and then changed the
  publication settings. Each language version has its own version of the
  (Written in the language concerned) FLVPlayback component. Start over and
  compare two compleley new FLA documents: make one for AS3 and AS2.
  Open the components Panel and note the differences between the two. He
  are a different set of components according to the language chosen for the
  document. Drag the FLVPlayback components Panel in a
  AS3 document and you have the AS3 version.

  Panel in your library. After that, the following four lines (only for the)

• Flash CS3 file does not appear in browsers

  We have created a .swf file in Flash CS3 for placement in a web site created with DreamWeaver CS3. The file is visible in the preview of DreamWeaver, but when the downloaded it does not appear in any browser on Mac or PC.
  We have the plugin Flash Player 9. We have ensured that the file name contains no spaces. What else could be the cause of this problem?

  Thanks for your reply. We have now solved the problem by further research in the Adobe forums: we didn't know that DreamWeaver creates a folder script associated with the Flash file, which must be uploaded with the .swf file. It's all working now, and the sum of our knowledge has increased a little.

  PS: Only this package (for Flash pro CS... Editor) in more than 40 MB (and normally in the "ZIP" format) is good! package.

  Not pages with Flash Player file (for navigator) for +/-3 MB or other packages of Flash player of +/-20 MB (for developers or old system) and containing only not the right files for Flash Pro CS3.

  Those you need to download is:

  • Download the Windows Flash Player 9 Projector content debugger (EXE, 3.64 MB)
  • Download the Windows Flash Player 9 projector (EXE, 3.26 MB)

  The first file is in the Players\Debug directory.

  The second goes into the Players\Release directory and players (Yes, it's the same file - check the size)

  Once you put the files here, remove the 'old' and rename the new as FlashPlayer.exe

  I went from Windows XP, Mac OS and use my apps Windows Windows XP on Parallels Desktop for Mac. Now, I want to use my Flash CS3 update for Win in Parallels. Are there problems to activate the software? Is there a risk of losing the activation? I ve red that normally the activation token is written on a part of the hard drive, which is not used by file systems, so that the formatting of the hard drive may not remove activation. But what happens in VM, because the VM knows only the file system and nothing more on the hard drive?

  If you perform a giveback of license on the Windows machine (assuming that you previously had installed CS3) then you should have no problem installing on parallels. (On the side of the PC, it is help > activate)

  If you have already let down the PC then phone service customer and they should be able to ensure that your installation on the side of mac has no problem.
