  Hi all

  I need to create a Flash CS5 solution that queries data from a database MS Access.  The Flash application and the database will be located on the same web server and the database will have a specific query for each function of Flash.  Is it possible to achieve this interface between Flash and access with some ActionScript magic alone?  Or, is it an intermediate stage (or stages) that should be taken to query the data from access and put it back into Flash?

  in theory, it is possible to talk directly to a database with actionscript, but it's very complex.

  most people use a side script server what Flash communicates with and talks of script for the database. Assuming you are using a windows server, look for flash tutorials on connecting to a SQL database - it is essentially the same as the connection to a db access.

  one thing to note on access: it can handle 10 simultaneous connections so its not very good for sites Web - if possible, use a mySQL or SQL database.

  I tried searching online, Adobe, through the help section of Flash, and Lynda.com to try to find a SIMPLE 'mailto' function so that an email button that I created a portfolio website in Flash CS5.   If you mean that you are accustomed to the use of Code help make all your ActionScript, then I can't help you there.  I gave up using it after the first time that I tried it, somewhere on Flash 4.  Since then, I always have my coding via manual entry in the Actions Panel.  The code that you would enter would look like...

  Ive been at this for hours and ive been on various other sites, including adobe, seeking the answer to this problem.
  Im running Flash CS5 with all updates.
  My flash is long roughly 2400 images and runs at 24 fps.
  At the beginning, I had no problem in exporting.
  Now, when I publish/export/test/preview/start working, the dialog bar appears indicating that the export... Only to stop suddenly to about 70% of the way through and disappear. . No preview... no swf. and to make things worse, he devours the swf that I exported to the origin. Im not using any script action (ive been told which could be the problem). I tried to copy my images in a document of charges, just in case the original is damaged, but still had the same problem. Ive screwed with the publication parameters enough to know that the problem is not there. I've combed through my entire library, always seeking... corrupted files without success.

  Avoid copying files from one computer to the other. It won't work. You run out of hidden files scattered around the hard drive and interrupt the licensing mechanism.

  There is no problem to open the fla files, made with earlier versions of flash pro, in later versions of pro flash (with the exception of the as2 containing files and flash pro after cs6).

  Android does not officially support splash screens, you make the inside of your flash with the preloader file.

  I apologize if this is a very basic question, but I am a newbie in Flash design. I created a basic animation in Flash CS5 and I need to add a clickable URL link. I tried a few tutorials that seemed promising, but none of them solved my problem. I tried a number of things, including the conversion to parts or all of the simple images buttons or movies and linking them this way as well as type in the code ActionScript 2 and 3, which none was successful. The animation plays correctly in my browser, but when I click it, the link does not work.   If you mean CS4 can open a CS5 file, no.  If you mean CS5 of can open a CS4 file (or save to a file, CS4), Yes (at least in theory).
