Flash Player on several PC problem

Hello

I am a local COMPUTER administrator and have a problem where four users keep having the same problem. What they say, is that after a Windows Update and restart their Flash Player stops working. Uninstall and reinstall Flash Player solves the problem, but they are not admins of their machines and if this is not possible. Windows updates are controlled by policy group here, and I have no way to change that either.

However, going on what users have said that I'm not quite sure that the updates of Windows is the question. I have a PC users to test today and my last test did not produce the same result as what users say (more than step below).

Reading some of the threads I think I have checked most of the solutions but please review what I've done and propose something that I may have missed.

OS - WinXP SP3

Browser - IE8 32 bit

  • Visit www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/? -flash animation does not appear but it does not display version information (10.2.153.1)
  • Is the active Shockwave Flash object module: Yes
  • Disable all other addons
  • The Internet - set to medium, Security Zone also reset the browser settings
  • Disable the AV software and popup
  • Java Update
  • Killbit change reg - entry was there, but deleting it made no difference
  • Installed Firefox and flash player works (again to see if it will be affected by the same good question)
  • Flash Player file details in the image below

Therefore, as already mentioned my last step was to remove the latest Windows updates. There were two of them apply the previous night (KB2511455 & KB2508429). I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player (now at version 10.2.159.1), checked it worked and updates of Windows Basic. Rebooted but Flash Player still works. So I'm not sure what the cause of the problem; I'm waiting for it to happen again, but I hope that a solution will have been found by then.

If you need me to test something else, there are other machines that have the problem.

Thank you and best regards,

Brad

Here are the details of the installed Flash files...

adobe flash file details.JPG

Hi, well although you went thru a little trying to solve this problem. I agree that it has nothing to do with the updates of Windows. I did not have any question on one of my PC and haven't read anything nets.

What I see in the screenshot, is that the 'Flash10o.ocx' does not get uninstalled. It is the version of Flash Player 10.2.153.1.

The other files are correct with the 10.2.159.1.

When the uninstall program was run that this file should be removed. You can go and remove it manually. Just be sure that you have nothing running in the system tray that uses Flash. Messaging services instant need disabled/quit/exit(whatever term is used). Then close all browser windows and then right-click on the Flash10o.ocx and delete it. I would then reboot.

Hope that solves the problem.

I tried several different download links, but non of them work. I also uninstalled Adobe Flash Player and tried to reinstall it, but then I have the same problem. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Thank you!

For some reason I have yet to determine, people with Matlab installed beginning to .mdlp extensions added to their downloaded files.  That's what happened here.  Rename the file to remove .mdlp (while it ends in .dmg), and then double-click the file and it should work.

  • JavaScript disabled, cannot load or use Flash Player, what is the problem?

Since the installation of the latest version of Firefox on my Mac (OS X 10.8.4), I can't watch or download videos from Flash Player. Here is a part of the root of the problem:

    1. I have Java Applet plugin Java 7 update 25 installed and activated.
    2. I also NoScript active 2.6.7.1. If I'm on a web page with Flash material I want to download, I am doing what I used to do with the previous version of Firefox, which is to click on "temporarily allow all this page" in the Options"" menu.
    3. If I try to listen to or download, I get the error message "to view this video, you need later.
version of Adobe Flash Player. "and a download button.
    4. the button brings me to the Flash Player page, where it says "JavaScript is currently disabled in your browser and is required to download Flash Player."
    5. in the ' about' config' parameters, Javascript.enabled is set to 'default' and 'true '.

At this point, I'm stumped. Can someone please help?

My thanks to everyone who responded, the solution is in fact provided by zakaria on the Mac forums and was simple; He suggested I download Flash from here , the Adobe Flash Player Distribution page, rather than the Adobe page that Firefox sends you when you have not download plugin. As far as I can tell, this Adobe page is bugged and cannot say that JavaScript is actually activated, or Firefox has a problem of communication of the fact. In both cases, it is disconcerting.

  • Flash Player Setup has a problem and needs to close.

I have a portable old of 12 year (HP nx9005) with 1 GB of RAM, XP Home Edition. I downloaded the Flash Player installer (flashplayer19_ha_install.exe). When I run this Setup program that he has a problem after a few seconds, and a Microsoft dialog box informs you that the program had a problem and needs to close and asks me if I want to send a report to Microsoft. That XP is no longer supported, it seems unnecessary to send the report.

    Information about the problem are:

    AppName: flashplayer19_ha_install.exe

    AppVer: 2.0.0.65

    ModName: flashplayer19_ha_install.exe

    ModVer: 2.0.0.65

    Offset: 0000599b

I did a full clean install of XP using the original supplied with laptop computer disks. I also downloaded the installer three times on www.adobe.com. Whenever I get the same error. Installers for other products such as anti-virus package all the work.

The processor is an AMD Athlon XP2000 +.

Suggestions for Flash Player are welcome.

    Hi str8chat

You are running Windows XP with SP1 or SP2?  If so, try using the Installer off line/standalone posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page in the section "problems".

  • How to update flash player for several browsers under Mac

    Hello

First of all, I have installed Flash Player on my mac and he used with Safari. Now, recently I started using Opera, and when I tried to view flash content it told me that was not installed Flash. I thought flash installed the browser in the world for all to use, but I guess I was wrong. Now Flash on Safari tells me is outdated, while Opera is not since I installed it later. Is there a way to keep Flash updated without having to be updated individually in every browser I use?  I do not in fact automatic update. Just a personal preference because I still do not have a fast internet connection.  I use Mac OS 10.11.5 is said by the way.

    Hello

Safari and Opera uses 2 different types of plugin.  Safari (and Firefox) use the NPAPI and Opera plugin (and other browsers based on chrome) PPAPI plugin.  The best way to keep the two types of Player update is opt in the background updates.  Verification of updates for a updated once per day of history.  If an update is it downloads and installs it.  All versions of the drive on a system are usually updated within 24 hours of a new version being released.  Updates to opt in the background follow these steps:

Launch System Preferences > Flash Player > updates tab > select Adobe allow to install updates (recommended)

I installed the latest update for the flash drive on Firefox 47. Immediately, I noticed a problem with this version even during installation. It keeps giving me a window occupied plugin and basically freezes Firefox to be able to do something else. (the blink too fast to capture) It's frustrating! He will give me finally unresponsive script warning. See below for a list of the Task Manager. I use Windows 10.

My Task Manager shows multiple processes open to the player and the plugin crashes. disturbing? How this can be solved?  I tried to uninstall and reinstall and restart my computer. No change so far. I'm not very tech savvy. Please help if you can.

I am pleased to announce that Firefox uninstall and reinstall the version 64-bit (i.e. my system while they inspected) seem to have solved the problem. Thank you!  So simple, except for the computer not like geeks.

Everybody, please try the solution in the other thread mentioned above in response to Julian. It might just help.

    Thanks in advance

Please download uninstaller and local installer first. Restart your operating system to ensure that no hidden process bothers your uninstall process and Installer.

It malicious actors area out there who take the Flash Player installer legitimate and pack it with malware, or simply to accommodate a virus/malware/etc to install/update and call Flash Player or some other permutation of this.  When people perform an Internet search these sites to install Flash Player, as well as of adobe.com are returned in the search results.  The people knowingly or not, go to the non-adobe.com site a download an installer of Flash Player potentially malicious or false who infects his system or click on a notification to update Flash Player fake/malicious window (see this article for an example: https://isc.sans.edu/forums/diary/Fake+Adobe+Flash+Update+OS+X+Malware/20693/).  Many of these false installers have been stigmatized for alike to official and legitimate Flash Player installer.  If you think that you may have used a fake installer of Flash Player install Flash Player, private message me the link to the site where you downloaded the installer from.  Adobe will actively after these malicious actors to remove fake/malicious installers.
