Flash Player version of external browser detection

Hello

I was wondering if it is possible to detect the version of Flash Player on Mac, but from outside the browser. Our product has need to know what version of Flash is present in the time of installation, so I need to detect it through the shell / perl script.

Does anyone know if this is possible, and what could be the most effective approach?

Hi, just for reference, using a script shell to recover the CFBundleShortVersionString plugins plist key seems to be a good way to do. Plugin is in/Library/Internet Plug - Ins.

Hey, if you don't mind, after return the version number of Kaspersky. Most of the users that I dealt with who had KIS, other than the URL Advisor had no problem with that. The fact that you do not have Add ons/plugins/extenstions of KIS makes it more confusing.

Now one of the AV and I think it's Norton, change the security settings for the Internet Zone. Go to tools, Internet Options and on the Security tab, make sure that it is set to medium.  Then try the video with KIS OFF. Then turn on KIS, try the video and then check your configuration to see if it has been amended.

Send me the version of KIS.

Also before you installed KIS, what anti-virus program you have and have you used a program to uninstall to uninstall completely?

    Thank you

  • Flash player version mismatch, control screen vs Adobe web site

    Hi all

I use Win7 Pro. I go into my control panel, click on the Flash Player icon, click the updates tab to update and it says I have an old version (18.0.0.194). Then I click on the check now button and it opens a browser and opens the web page of Adobe Flash Player that says I have the latest version (18.0.0.203). Which version is correct?

    * Please be sure of your answer and don't guess.* * Older versions of Flash Player are dangerous and risky.

Why is there a version number mismatch? How can this be repaired?

This is my first post. Will I have replies sent to my email? How can I select the answers to my email?

    Hello

The above information, it seems that your default browser is Google Chrome.

Since google Chrome has built-in flash player, which gets the automatic update, it displays the latest version.

But the Protocol NCP (which is visible to you in the control panel) is for the reader flash installed on the browser (I think it is IE)

Please update the browser from the link below:

    https://get.Adobe.com/flashplayer/

Or you can try the offline installation program to:

Adobe Flash Player install for all versions

If this done; t solves your query, you mention the browser name and version.

  • Notification of updates to Flash player version

Looking for a way of automatic notification by which we can be invited for pending releases update of Flash Player so we can pack the new version for the distribution of our advanced users.

It's actually pretty easy, and we provide offers pre-packaged of ActiveX and NPAPI versions of Flash Player ready for distribution through AD, SCUP, KCP, etc

We also provide an Extended Support Release, which is still patched with security and updates published in parallel with our generally available release, but the goal is to isolate the organizations against the risks associated with the development of new functionality, while keeping the security update.  For organizations that have requirements strict tests of updates of product feature-bearing, it's our way to provide the pain relief as the cadences of browser version and the security landscape have required much faster for Flash.

Let's all start, you must apply a Flash Player distribution agreement.  It's free.  The license for download is not technically grant you permission to repackage and redistribute the player, so you don't get access to all of the prepared packages and view.

We expect changes in the distribution of the House to increase the number of applications coming, so if you are redistributing current Flash Player within your organization now and that you do not have a distribution agreement, take a few minutes to fill out a new agreement until we have absolutely overwhelmed with new applications and our processing time takes a hit.

    Adobe Flash Player Distribution. Adobe

Once you have been approved, that could be fast enough, I hope, you will have access to our distribution portal, and I think that you will get automatic notifications by virtue of being on the distribution list.

Probably, you should also register for the Notification Service security Adobe, just so that you do not know to be notified of critical updates to any of our products that may be on your network:

    Adobe - Security Notification Service

Here is the guide of the system administrator for Flash Player, who probably has something that you will find useful:

Adobe Flash Player for Flash Player 14 Administration Guide | Adobe Developer Connection

Flash releases player on a monthly rate, aligned with Microsoft Patch Tuesday and more occasional releases out of a cycle, when we need to deal with critical security issues.

Flash Player also includes automatic update service, which we strongly recommend that you take advantage, especially if you are already very busy.  If you are updated on an ad hoc basis, you let your users exposed to threats that we have already alleviated.  Given the level of sophistication, that we see with organized crime and State sponsored piracy, no time to do a binary diff to a new version and debone patches to use them against older versions.

While we work closely with our partners in the research and security communities, and the vast majority of these updates are the results of the questions which are discovered and disclosed in a responsible manner, it is important to keep your customers put far, especially when we are issuing out of remedial program when an active fault has been identified in the field.

Anyway, I think that the above resources will keep you abreast of everything that is essential and give you access to all the tools necessary to distribute Flash Player inside your organization, while minimizing the associated work.

    Good luck!

  • Flash Player in the AOL browser

    Hi people from Adobe,.

Since I updated to 8.1 of Windows cannot open videos in my AOL browser. (desktop 9.6)

Everything works fine, except everything that has to do with videos. , They work very well in my XP computer. They worked fine in Windows 8. I copied a video link to AOL IE in this same laptop and it worked fine in it.

When I click on a video, it begins to open. At the same time the homepage opens behind the video page. When this happens, the two pages of departure will produce back the quiver that does not allow the video to be displayed. If I click on the homepage out, it turns off, but video keeps going as if it was work, but keeps blinking back until the entire video goes through in its entirety, though invisible.

While on the AOL browser, I tried to open a session from a known location diagram. The page opens, but splashed across the middle of the page was a big message covering the whole of the stay card. This message said, I needed to update my flash player. Where as I ask for help, told me the same thing

I have the latest player available. I checked what I have against the latest available version, and they are the same. Problem is that which is the version for Windows 8 and I have Windows 8.1. I can't find anywhere in any version of Windows 8.1. I also watched my Add Ons, Shockwave Flash Object is there and it is activated.

How can I get a version of player to work in my AOL browser?

    Thank you

    Thanks Pat.

I've never had to deal with this problem before, so I'm not sure if AOL uses the player Activex or Plugin. In fact, I think that their player is working with IE. It seems to me that once I updated to Windows 8.1, the AOL software not changed something to stay with her...

I did a manual download, however, after that the site in AOL told me I had to.  Then I found out that I shouldn't, because it seems that IE 11 ships with the version of good player already installed. But the download I did was for Windows 8, I could not find one for Windows 8.1 anywhere, could you tell me where to find one?

I'm not sure if I downloaded a Plugin or Activex. I don't really understand these things. I'll have to look that up. If I decide to re-download, must I first uninstall Flash Player, which is now in my computer?

I thought about the update of 9.7, but I'm waiting and see if I can fix this without having to do it.

    I use:

    WINDOWS 8.1

    THAT IS TO SAY 11

FLASH PLAYER 13.0.0.214 (this is for Windows 8, there is no Windows 8.1 on the lists of versions)

    Thank you

Soemthing is definitely wrong with this file!  Let's try a clean uninstall and reinstall:

The installation of Flash Player folder is now empty?  If not, can you reboot and see if that the DLL file is now gone?  If not, can you try to remove it manually?

Open system preferences > Flash Player then select updates tab, and then click check now.

If an update is available, you will be redirected to the Adobe site where you can download the update.
