Flex RemoteObject for CF8 security & amp; channel

I'm a newbie convert a cfm for flex site and have questions about the implications of the management of the State on the client.

In my cfm site I put a SESSION.variable to 'isSignedIn' which CF server stores and (via CFToken cookie accompanying applications for next page) associated with say OwnerID = 17. As well as the client computer does not always receive OwnerID = 17.

However, using < mx:RemoteObject > flex application changes status from the successful connection - but how server not CF know that subsequent data of this application requests are for OwnerID = 17 except OwnerID = 17 is stored on the client machine and accompanies each "message"?

I have researched rather extensively and understand that (IF I'm not sure) < mx:RemoteObject > establishes a 'permanent' (until this disconnected) pipe/channel on the CF server then the "header" OwnerID = 17 is not necessary - but I don't know if this is the case, or if < mx:RemoteObject > is NOT a string of 'constant '. , but only once called message & return structure has the HTTP.

And if this is a constant string, what are the performance implications on the CF of this server (seems it would be masterminds of resources). Probably so, "constant" channel could only be closed by the customer (he did not seem to be any SESSION.variable as parameters?)

I realize there are protections of encryption available for storage on the client as and for data packets from transit but I'm I correct by saying that sending OwnerID = 17 down to the customer at any time is a security risk (ie. motivate replication of a GUID based analogy stored object - variable aka SESSION - for my app)?

benforta: you can use the same thing, if you set a SESSION on the CF server and id and the token will set, as RemoteObject uses the HTTP protocol

benforta: but, generally, most stuff session in a CF/Flex app belongs on the client, with the exception of the actual recorded in the State

me: so if RemoteObject using HTTP is it accurate to say 1) connection is not a constant string and 2) the CFID, CFToken cookie "header" must be attached to every RemoteObject communication?

benforta: OK, cookies must get returned by the browser in an HTTP request, and a request of the authority of the financial markets is an HTTP request

me: do you have an idea how this would result in an AIR application?

    Vista is a stupid idea (IMHO). I just bought a laptop for a Christmas gift and made sure it came with XP instead. I do know that if I would exclude your development system, I would certainly add a gig of ram if you can.

    I have problems with the download of the microsoft/windows updates current.  My computer is set to automatically download, but there was a series of 10 "major updates" that I've been prompted to manually download.  However, I get a notice that my computer could not download 5 of these 'important' for vista security updates.  Important security downloads carry reference numbers: KB956744 KB971557 and KB971657, KB973507, KB973540.   Are the other three updates that will not download "update for Windows Vista for x 64-based systems (KB968389)" and "update for the filter of junk mail from Windows Mail for x 64 systems (KB905866).»

    Can someone help me understand how my computer download these updates?

    A good step to start with the recommendation provided by Jos Raymond. In addition to this, you can try to clean boot.

    We would like to get a better understanding of this issue, so we can better help not only you but other users with similar problems.

    What version of the operating system you are using (Windows Vista or XP)?

    Please let us know if you see errors or the Windows Update window error codes.

    Has nothing changed on your system just before that this problem has occurred - all new hardware devices installed?  New software or updates installed?

    If you can give us these answers we can help diagnose this problem.

    Meanwhile, I have a few basic steps that you can follow first, we can try to put the computer in a clean boot state and then try to install the updates:

    To do a clean boot, follow the steps below:

    1. Log the computer by using an account with administrator rights.

    2. click on Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration Utility.If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click continue.

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the Load Startup items check box. (The box use the Boot file is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click disable all.

    Note Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    5. click OKand then click restart.

    Once the computer restarts, try to install the updates. If you are not able to install, please check for error messages or error codes.

    To restart the computer to a normal startup, follow these steps:

    I am running XP HOME Edition Service Pack 3 on 2 computers on a network at home for almost a year. I have One Care. When I start the computer their direct initialization on the desktop.
    I know that I don't have the Group Editor and there is no way to get installed it on XP HOME.
    For the last 2 weeks, when I click on Windows Firewall in Control Panel, on two computers, the settings window appears but there a warning on top "for your security, some settings are controlled by group policy" and the selections are grayed out, and the firewall is disabled.
    I have no firewall problem turn on or turn it off in One Care on computers. I've deleted and reinstalled One Care, and even when One Care is removed on both computers I get the same results with Windows Firewall.
    I even replaced the firewall router had to this router.
    Nothing not done, I ran Rgeg priest and anti-Malware.
    I got a response saying to run "mmc", but nothing happens.
    I even spent 5 hours on 2 days with a care that told Finally I must contact support XP and I have had no reports of them support.
    I tried http://windowsxp.mvps.org/resetfwpol.htmon both computers, the Windows Firewall Branch returns to regedit after a reboot and Windows Firewall is still gray.
    I would like to delete One Care and install Security Essentials, but I fear that I can find with no firewall.

    Me again!
    I removed One Care on both computers, rebooted, installed MSE, rebooted, did a quick auto scan, showed no problems. The Windows Firewall still has the statement "For your security, some settings are controlled by group policy", but the good news is the firewall is on and I can't turn it works!

    Now I can run chkdsk on both computers.

    The Linksys router has SPI Firewall. Should I so on only the SPI Firewall Windows Firewall?

    Furthermore, I run RegClean once a week. Do I need to continue to operate that?
