My bios crashed. I'm looking for a bios file for Toshiba Satellite U400-18E (PSU44E). Toshiba site offers me only update the bios, but I need the bios file. There is no information what kind of motherboard in my Toshiba. According to the information on the motherboard can I find bios file.

    Hi pkerk,

Why update the BIOS crashed and why you did an update?

Anyway, what you can download from Toshiba Web site is the latest version of the BIOS with the update program that is based on Windows. I've never seen other versions of BIOS only and it would be useless because the new version is more stable and corrects the most problems.

Maybe you can get the original BIOS file to an authorized service so get in touch with the guys.

Two main causes of this blue screen video drivers and BIOS - check with the system manufacturer
Site for graphics (Video) card and BIOS, then on site of the manufacturer of the device for the last video. It may be
other pilots to check there. Disable the installation of self as those who are older and if

    Cause

Bug KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED control is a very common bug control. To interpret it, you must identify which exception has been generated.

    Common exception codes are:

    • 0xc0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION indicates that a memory access violation has occurred.

    Solve the problem

If you do not have to debug this problem, you must use certain basic troubleshooting techniques:

    • Make sure you have enough disk space.
    • If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates.
    • Try changing video cards.
    • Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the BIOS.
    • Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading.

If you plan to debug this problem, you may find it difficult to get a stack trace. Parameter 2 (the address of the exception) should identify the driver or function that caused the problem.

If you do not know the specific cause of the exception, consider the following:

    • Hardware incompatibility. Ensure that all new equipment installed is listed in the list of the products tested Microsoft Windows market.
    • Service driver or defective peripheral system. A chauffeur service or defective peripheral system could be responsible for this error. The hardware problems, such as BIOS incompatibilities, conflicts of memory and IRQ conflicts can also generate this error.

If the verification of the message bug list a driver by name, disable or remove that driver. In addition, disable or remove drivers or services that have been recently added. If the error occurs during the startup sequence and the system partition is formatted with the NTFS file system, you may be able to use Safe Mode to rename or to delete the faulty driver. If the driver is used as part of the start-up procedure of the system Safe Mode, you must start the computer by using the Recovery Console to access the file.

If the problem is associated with Win32k.sys, the source of the error may be a third-party remote control program. If this software is installed, you can remove the system startup service using the recovery and then Console by removing the offending system service file.

Check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the device or driver responsible for control of bug 0x1E. You can disable the cache in memory of the BIOS to try to resolve the error. You must also run the diagnostics of material, especially the scanner memory, which provides the manufacturer of the system. For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

The error that generates this message may occur after the first reboot during Windows Setup, or after installation is complete. A possible cause of the error is lack of disk space for installation and the system BIOS incompatibilities. For any problems during the installation of Windows that are associated with lack of disk space, reduce the number of files on the hard disk drive target. Search and delete temporary files that you do not have to have, files hidden Internet, application backup files and files saved .chk , which contain fragments of files on disk scans. You can also use an another hard disk drive with more free space for the installation.

You can solve the problems of BIOS by upgrading the version of the system BIOS

There must be a way to remove a unknown password!  I disassembled the laptop and removed the battery cmos for 3 hours and it didn't work.  There must be an easier way.  There should be a default password for the bios of HP or Compaq?

    Welcome to Alzur.

How to cut the power on password or bios password is easy.

Remove the battery and power supply.

Remove the memory cover. "On the merits".

Remove the memory stick. "If there is."

You should see a label and a piece of plastic tape.

Peel off the tape and you will see CMOS_CLR1.

Use small flat head screwdriver and make contact with the 2 copper looking contacts.

Replace the tape in plastic, memory, memory and battery.

Just tested it and it worked very well.

    Hello

The unknown BIOS password cannot be deleted or removed easily.
The unknown BIOS password can be removed ONLY by a certified maker Toshiba.

To my knowledge, the Satellite M30-742 PSM30E-7100V-EN was released in Europe (probably for the British market)
Then, probably, you should contact the ASP from Toshiba available to the United Kingdom in order to remove the BIOS password.

Here is a link to all Toshiba ASP available worldwide:

  • Satellite L50 - B - the search for old BIOS

I recently put to update the BIOS in my laptop L50 - B - 17 c version 1.70 and it turns out the language of the specific characters are not correctly mapped in the keyboard (this is OS independent), so I would go back to the previous version of BIOS, but there is no other version of the download page :(

Do you know if I can find somewhere another Alumni BIOS, or maybe that you have backed up BIOS before 1.70?

    Thanks in advance.

The BIOS backup is a good decision in case something would be wrong with the laptop.
However, even if there is nothing wrong with the laptop, the BIOS update can do if it s released by Toshiba.

However, you asked for the older version of BIOS, unfortunately, I guess that in one such case that only Toshiba authorised service provider could help you get this BIOS because Toshiba EU provides only the latest version of BIOS on the driver page.

In any case, I guess you want to downgrade the BIOS in order to solve the problem of the keyboard. Right?
I read your other thread on the problem of Polish characters. In my opinion its is not really clear if its BIOS really make since you have used another system. Also if external keyboard works properly, the problem would not be bound to the BIOS.

However, this topic needs to be discussed in your other thread.

If something like this would be available, then you will find this on the European driver Toshiba page in the download area.

I can only imagine that Toshiba service provider in your country can get the older version for you. They have access to the database of Toshiba and I think they can get what they want.
