Satellite U400-18E (PSU44E) - searching for original BIOS file

My bios crashed. I'm looking for a bios file for Toshiba Satellite U400-18E (PSU44E). Toshiba site offers me only update the bios, but I need the bios file. There is no information what kind of motherboard in my Toshiba. According to the information on the motherboard can I find bios file.

Hi pkerk,

Why update the BIOS crashed and why you did an update?

Anyway, what you can download from Toshiba Web site is the latest version of the BIOS with the update program that is based on Windows. I've never seen other versions of BIOS only and it would be useless because the new version is more stable and corrects the most problems.

Maybe you can get the original BIOS file to an authorized service so get in touch with the guys.
Normally they can reflash the ROM module for you because they have professional tools. :)

    Hi all.

I have download the drivers for windows XP for this laptop Satellite U400-20V PSU44E-05300GAR, but the problem is the wireless don't work and his driver.

I have download several times because I think to choose the correct driver, but the problem even if I need help

    Thank you all

    Hello

As far as I know the laptop uses Intel WLan 5100AGN map and audio chip Conexant CX20561.

The WLan driver can be downloaded here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Audio driver can be downloaded from the page of European driver of Toshiba.

It is important that you install all service packs of Microsoft and patches before install you the audio driver.
SP3 must be installed before you try to install the audio driver.
SP3 contains necessary fixes that are important.

  • Satellite L50 - B - the search for old BIOS

I recently put to update the BIOS in my laptop L50 - B - 17 c version 1.70 and it turns out the language of the specific characters are not correctly mapped in the keyboard (this is OS independent), so I would go back to the previous version of BIOS, but there is no other version of the download page :(

Do you know if I can find somewhere another Alumni BIOS, or maybe that you have backed up BIOS before 1.70?

    Thanks in advance.

The BIOS backup is a good decision in case something would be wrong with the laptop.
However, even if there is nothing wrong with the laptop, the BIOS update can do if it s released by Toshiba.

However, you asked for the older version of BIOS, unfortunately, I guess that in one such case that only Toshiba authorised service provider could help you get this BIOS because Toshiba EU provides only the latest version of BIOS on the driver page.

In any case, I guess you want to downgrade the BIOS in order to solve the problem of the keyboard. Right?
I read your other thread on the problem of Polish characters. In my opinion its is not really clear if its BIOS really make since you have used another system. Also if external keyboard works properly, the problem would not be bound to the BIOS.

However, this topic needs to be discussed in your other thread.

  • Recovery BIOS for Satellite U400 - 138 PSU44E

    Hello

I could not with update of the bios that I had taken the official support page from toshiba bios file. I don't know that I had chosen the right bios file. But something is wrong and my laptop is brick, and now.

I'm trying to recover the bios with Phoenix crisis recovery. I tried 2-3 varieties of the recovery from the crisis.

I have a backup of the old bios, stable, so I'll try to recover with this old bios file. I tried Win + B, FN + B, Win + F, F + FN, Fn + Esc, keystroke U for the recovery from the crisis.
Furthermore, I use 1 GB drive/usb formatted FAT for this purpose. The machine will beep every time, and I'm waiting for 10 minutes or more after the beeps.

I put the file of bios on usb drive with a lot of names "bios.wph", ".fd", "bios.fd". Also I tried to use the usb disk, the bios file is 2 MB, so I couldn't do it.

I also tried the insyde recovery solution. I don't know the name of the file for recovery.
I looked at the file of bios with a hex editor, but I did not find the name of the file (for example bios.fd or something)

Please * don't * suggest to send laptop for service solution. I have to remedy in * 1-2 days * and the service is so far away from me and they work slowly. If I send to the service, I will not take the laptop for 2 weeks.

What can I do, what is the procedure of work? If toshiba allow us to update the bios, they must support for the recovery, too. ASP is not a solution for every time.

    * Any * help will be appreciated.

    Best regards.

  • Where can I download drivers for Satellite U400-20V (PSU44E)

Can someone send a link here where I can download the driver of PSU44E?

cause the toshiba support download, they have

    U400 - ST3301
    U400 - ST3302
    U400 - ST5404
    U400 - ST6301

That's all the model I see satellite.

    Can someone help me?

I'm afraid that you look the wrong download page.

As I see you have European model laptop, and to download drivers use please European support page and not the United States or any other Toshiba support page.

You have the Satellite U400-20V with model PSU44E number.
You can find the drivers under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

  • Re: Satellite A210-MS5 - I need the original BIOS

    Dear colleague,

I am very sad to have a failure on the update of the BIOS. Now, unable to start my machine (Satellite A210 MS5). I'm trying to reflash using the method of the crisis recovery disk. I need the original BIOS Version. : 1.00. Anyone have this version and send it to me? Thank you very much! My email is [email protected]

Do you have an experience about it? How can I recover my BIOS?

    Thanks again

    Hey Buddy!

Sorry but I n the new good t for you. On the Toshiba site, you can download the most recent BIOS and older versions of BIOS are only for the available authorized service providers.
In addition a BIOS downgrade is possible to the ASP.

So in your case, I would go to the nearest ASP that you can find on the Toshiba site and ask for help. Technicians can help you:

    Good luck!

  • Satellite U400 - a newer driver for microphone

Please help me, I tried everything on my Satellite U400 to fix the microphone, but I won't be able to fix because the drivers are not good and they are OLD 2009
I need new drivers to fix my micro Satellite U400, please where can I find more recent drivers then from the year 2009?

    Thank you.

    Hey Scooby,

Satellite U400 is old model of laptop and I don t think there are driver updates published. I think that it s everything is ok with the old sound driver that otherwise Toshiba would release an update or something.

The microphone is a part of webcam, so you need to update the driver for the webcam also. Take a look at the Toshiba page for the new driver of the webcam.

I checked a little the Toshiba page and Satellite C650 has Conexant audio chip too. Newer drivers are available for this model of laptop and normally the drivers should work on your model too. It's worth a try ;)

  • How to search for a specific file on the computer?

Original title: How can I search for a file by name only. For example, to prevent the display of other files that contain the same text.  This was easy to do under XP.

For example, I need to find FILES named xyz*.mdl.  I need to filter all files that CONTAIN "xyz*.mdl" but are note NAMED "xyz*.mdl".

This was easy in XP, but not in "7".

    Help, please.

    Thank you

    Doug

    You can use the syntax:

    filename:xyz * .mdl

Note that file:xyz*.mdl is equivalent to filename:xyz * .mdl, but an additional symbol ~ is necessary with the equivalent of the so-called name: ~ xyz * .mdl to properly manage the wildcard character.  (file name, file and the name are supposed to be the same)

  • Stop the search for the missing files from LabVIEW

Is there a way to prevent the search for lack of screws LabVIEW? If I load a VI and one of its dependencies is spent, I want LabVIEW to fail immediately and to wonder where is the file.

What version of LabVIEW are you using?

Just hit ignore.  It stops to load files that it cannot find and load than it can.

  • Search for names of file with Engine.SearchFiles?

I posted my comment to a solved thread: http://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-TestStand/searchfiles/td-p/2364238/page/2

and I don't have a solution. If I post in a new thread now.

Is it possible to search for substring in a file name using the Engine.SearchFiles method? I know, that there is a SearchOptions_RegExpr, but I couldn't know how to search for file names. I can find files that contain expressions, variables etc but not file names.

    So, is it still possible?

SearchFiles is only for research purposes in the files. Take a look at the FindFiles sequence in:

    \Components\Tools\ForEach.SEQ

This sequence search for all files in a directory tree by using direct calls to the WIN32 API. You could probably just call this sequence directly to do what you ask.

  • Searching for names of files to search for content

The search function in XP had an option so that on each individual search that you had an option to specify that you want to search in the contents of a file, but by default it would find the names of files only.  It looks in Windows 7, you cannot specify "names of files only" or "filenames and content" the on a per search basis , but it is now a Windows setting.  You go in the Tools menu of the Explorer and then Options records, then in the tab "Search", you choose one or the other radio button for 'What to look for', but this setting is now applied to all research.

Is it possible to specify on a per search basis?

Of course, just put the filename property before the words to search for:

    file name: SearchWords

For more on the research with properties, see:
