    Now I try the same thing with XLS-Templates. I create the XLS model in the editor of BI and where it works very well. Now I need also an APEX-"Download" - Process to download the XLS reports to the client. The method already used doesn't work for RTF models.

  • Creating a line chart PDF-report generator model with APEX

    Hi all

    I would like to create a PDF report with a chart using Apex and the generator plugin model for Word.

    My Select statement, which I use as the report (shared components) query returns the data in the following way:

    Date Description amount

    ----                 -----                -----

    01.01.2014 has 1.2

    02.01.2014 has 1.3

    03.01.2014 has 0.5

    01.01.2014 B 0.3

    02.01.2014 B 4.5

    03.01.2014 B 4.8

    The XML document obtained, which creates the APEX, is:

    <? XML version = "1.0" encoding = "UTF-8"? >

    < DOCUMENT >

    < DATE > 08/10/2014 < / DATE >

    ADMIN < user_name > < / username >

    < > 102 APP_ID < / APP_ID >

    < APP_NAME > Oracle APEX AppBuilder < / APP_NAME >

    < /Title > < TITLE > graph

    < REGION ID = "0" >

    rowset <>

    < ROW >

    < date > < / Date >

    < DESCRIPTION > < / DESCRIPTION >

    < value > < / value >

    < / ROW >

    < / LINES >

    < / REGION >

    < / DOCUMENT >

    What I would like to have is a line graph with:

    • Date on the x-axis
    • Length of value on axis y
    • for each Description of Type single line

    The names and numbers of the discription varies a lot (as well as the values that they are related to the Description and date).

    What I tried:

    A lot, trying to make this work for 4 weeks, on and outside.

    Tried to edit the chart XML in Word, edit the SQL query, pivot the result SQL to get the Descriptions as columns and of course a lot of Googling.

    Please let me know if you have any advice.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

    I read this tutorial to create report: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/learnmore/custom-pdf-reports-1953918.pdf

    But I have a problem when I create report for APEX with Altova StyleVision.

    I use Oracle XE 11 GR 2, APEX 4.2 and APEX auditor 2.0.4.

    At the TOP, I created a State with 14 queries and I exported in XML format.

    I can build four tables (4 different queries / rowset) in my report and PDF printing.

    But I have a problem when I want to add a fifth (table) query in my report:

    When I generate the PDF on my APEX application, I got the following error message:

    "The error page displaying the error ORA-01403: no data available ORA-06502: PL / SQL: digital error or value."

    Do you know why I get this error message when my report is 5 queries?

    Is the number of queries in a PDF report limited?

    Thank you very much for your help! And sorry for my English ;-)

    Hello

  • How o use an icon in a standard report to display the details by using a hyperlink with APEX 5.0

    Hello

    I work with APEX 5.0.

    I would like a report (classic) display a report of details (also classical report) using a hyperlink, but not a "text-hyperlink" like 'click here for details'.

    Instead, I want to use a small icon which will occur the same result when you click on.

    It works fine, when the hyperlink is defined as text like: 'click here for details'.

    When I try to use an image, I don't get the desired result.

    Here's what I tried to Hare:

    1)

    Link-> Link attributes, then filled column: src = "& WORKSPACE_IMAGES. "" #ICON_NAME # "width ="40"height = 40 ' or img src =" & WORKSPACE_IMAGES. " "" #ICON_NAME # "width ="40"height = 40.

    = > no picture for the items in the column, but the link already created for each column of the remains (and works)

    2)

    Formatting of column-> HTML Expression, then filled: < img src = "& WORKSPACE_IMAGES. "" #ICON_NAME # "width ="40"height = 40" >

    = > the image appears for each column element, but the hyperlink is gone.

    Somone has idea how to use a picture/icon to have a hyperling in screens reported a detail?

    Thank you in advance for sharing your experience.

    Hi Patrick,

    Link to the column-> then filled:

    Link text = #ICON_IS #

    Link attributes =.

    Target = this Application Page

    Page = 5

    Article 1 = P5_DEPTNO

    Value 1 = #DEPTNO #.

    Article 2 = P5_DEPARTMENT

    Value 2 = #DNAME #.

    Put this   in the link text not in attributes of link

    Remove the code from the link attributes.

    I don't have how to make it the way that describe you.

    Hi Devi b.

    If you want the port to listen web in APEX as print PDF, ADR 2.0 engine and later (last ADR 3.0) is a good option to consider:

    Reference:

    NOTE: The links are for APEX 4.2, but they still apply for APEX 5.0 and Oracle 12 c, if you plan to use ADR 2.0 and later versions.

  • Report/print Set - up with Apex 3.1 and Oracle XE

    I am trying to set up my local computer to run: Oracle XE, Oracle APEX v.3.1, with OC4J to allow printing via Apache FOP. So far, I've got XE and APEX 3.1 works well, OC4J looks OK, and I sent the FOP with APEX .war file. But I don't know where to configure APEX to use service of FOP. The instructions to http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/configure_printing.html say:

    "Step 2: Configure Oracle Application Express to use JSP for PDF printing.

    Once you have the PFO installed, access settings to print the report:
    Access to the Services Administration Homepage
    Select manage Service
    Select Instance settings, under manage environment settings
    To focus on only the attributes to print the report, click Print report.

    But I can't find any 'parameters of Instance' or "Managing the environment settings" options in my APEX 3.1 admin screens (connection as SYS or any other user of the administrator). Can someone tell me how/where to find these?

    To be honest, maybe I'm missing something, but this approach seems a little weird to me. The main advantage of the APEX (which doesn't seem to be all that common here in the United Kingdom), is that you can build web applications based on the database quickly and easily without having to run a big fat J2EE server. If I have to run a J2EE server for my impression, I lose this advantage. Still, it would at least make it work on my local machine, so tips are welcome.

    It's all totally obsolete with respect to the 5.0 APEX where interactive reports have been completely redesigned and rebuilt.

    To complete the full version number of APEX, always indicate what theme and browser (s) / version (s) you use when asking questions of shape/layout visual layout.

    To go from rank (Zebra) when you use the universal theme distribution in interactive reports, see Re: interactive report - no line scratched?

    I created a pdf form to a Word doc with the air police 9 pt formatted; the text on the pdf form is air 9 pt, but the fields are formatted in courier 12 pt - how can I reformat the police in the fields?

    Edit the form fields so that they use Helvetica by 9 points. Do not set the Arial font. Acrobat/Reader will use a private version of Arial as a substitute for Helvetica. If you specify Arial, it will integrate the entire police (sometimes several times), makes that increase the file size unnecessarily.

    Concerning

  • Printable report query problem

    I try to develop a printable report query. I created a report under shared components query which consists of 12 separate queries that collect data are all related to a single page element. The intention is to create a PDF document that is printed to the user on demand that will display all this information on the page element they have chosen.

    The query of the report gathers information and generates an XML file in the following format.
    <DOCUMENT>
        <ROWSET1>
            <ROWSET1_ROW>
                             *Data from query 1*
            </ROWSET1_ROW>
        </ROWSET1>
        <ROWSET2>
            <ROWSET2_ROW>
                              *Data from query 2*
            </ROWSET2_ROW>
            <ROWSET2_ROW>
                              * Data from query 2*
            </ROWSET2_ROW>
       </ROWSET2>
       <ROWSET3>
           <ROWSET3_ROW>
                              * Data from query 3*
           </ROWSET3_ROW>
           <ROWSET3_ROW>
                              * Data from query 3*
           </ROWSET3_ROW>
       </ROWSET3>
    ......
    </DOCUMENT>
    Then, I took this XML file and developed a model RTF using Office BI Publisher and imported as a layout of the report.
    I then connected this provision of the RTF to the report query and he ran. I don't have all the data to print.

    I found the reason why that it did not work, it is that the XML file that is generated by the report query is not static. The following XML file that was generated by the report query looked like this:
    <DOCUMENT>
        <ROWSET1>
            <ROWSET1_ROW>
                               * Data from query 3*
            </ROWSET1_ROW>
            <ROWSET1_ROW>
                               * Data from query 3*
            </ROWSET1_ROW>
        </ROWSET1>
        <ROWSET2>
            <ROWSET2_ROW>
                               * Data from query 7*
            </ROWSET2_ROW>
            <ROWSET2_ROW>
                               * Data from query 7*
            </ROWSET2_ROW>
            <ROWSET2_ROW>
                               * Data from query 7*
            </ROWSET2_ROW>
       </ROWSET2>
       <ROWSET3>
           <ROWSET3_ROW>
                               * Data from query 1*
           </ROWSET3_ROW>
       </ROWSET3>
    ......
    </DOCUMENT>
    So I can't develop a RTF model to display the data, if I do not know where these data will appear in the generated XML.

    Questions (I'll offer several POINTS to anyone who can answer all of these questions!)

    I use APEX version 3.1

    * 1. Why the report query seems randomly to renumber and reorganize the XML it produces? *

    * 2. Is it possible to make the report query to display the XML data in the order in which the individual queries are classified each time? *

    * 3. Is it possible to designate exactly the lines of sets of lines or lines supported by APEX? *

    * 4. Are there other methods can I Explorer to produce this report? *

    * 5. Is it a problem because I'm on an older version? Is it not a problem on 4.1? *

    So, you have 12 separate petitions? No there is no way to join them in a union to build the required data set? Or even using views inline in a query for each set of values?

  • First group title below displays under the column headers using the model 23 classic report with the help of repeat titles on break

    Hello

    I am migrating an application from 3 APEX APEX 4.2 on a thing I noticed with the classic reports when I put them in the model 23, it's that the first section break has break notch under the headings of columns for this section of line while the remaining lines properly have it display above the headers on the subsequent sections of group.

    When I look at firebug code I saw that all the tables but the first, the break line is included in the last line of the previous table, so I can see how it did not work for the holidays since.

    I have tow questions.

    1. is it really intentional because it seems not terribly elegant and my users to zero immediately above as a perceived bug.

    2. is there a reasonable job around always use headers repeat on break? I have multiple reports on the same page in places so switch to interactive reports is not a quick fix for me in this case.

    Example of a question can be seen at apex.oracle.com at home

    Thank you

    The Standard report template definition in issue 23 contains thead and tbody elements:

    Before the column header

    Column title template

    #COLUMN_HEADER#

    After the title column

    After the lines

    #PAGINATION#

    This is intentional, the best practice for marking up HTML tables. What is not expected is the problem that arises when this model is used with the break of repeat titles on break formatting option. The repeated headings result table consisting of soup of tags containing several poorly constructed tbody and thead, which is not valid elements.

    2. is there a reasonable job around always use headers repeat on break? I have multiple reports on the same page in places so switch to interactive reports is not a quick fix for me in this case.

    Create a copy of the report model Standard in Standard (break formatting) for use with reports of the break, remove the thead and tbody definitions of template tags and the breakdown of the reports to use the new model of change. (Or, if you use mainly break reports using the Standard template, keep the tags in the copy and remove them from the original in order to minimize the number of reports, you need to change.)

    Personally, I would create a report model of line custom to break complex reports in order to be able to have complete control over the structure and presentation.
