  I'm working on the establishment of a date for the Service of the EBS, and I'm unable to open forms HTML 'Find Service request' and "create Service request".

  I get the error message:

  Oracle error - 20001: ORA-20001: APP-FND-02902: option profile Multi-Org is required. Please define either MO: MO or Security Profile: profile of operating unit option. has been detected in MO_GLOBAL_INIT.

  I have knowledge of EBS min set up and configuration. We simply use EBS as a source system for our ETLs.  Please suggest no work around to solve the problem.

  Go to the responsibility of the system administrator > profile > system. Search for the profile MO: unit operating and under field of responsibility, put in the name of responsibility you use to create the service request, click OK, and enter the value you want in the next window operating unit. He shoots to the top of all the defined business units and you can choose the one desired.

  My Department is evaluating the development tools to create new web applications and possibly migrate current buit applications with Oracle Forms 6.0.5.34.0. Our database is Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.8.0 - 64 bit.
  
  We read that the new version of Oracle Forms is Oracle Forms Services 11 g. Is Oracle Forms 11g compatible with Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.8.0 Services - 64 bit? or we will have to migrate our Oracle 11g RDBMS?
  
  If our database is compatible, what would we have needed to develop and deploy applications with Oracle Forms 11 g Services?

  That it is compatible or not: 9.2.0.8 database is supported, which means you get patches for it. So even if it's compatible I would opt to upgrade to a newer version, because I wouldn't feel uncomfortable that the product is not supported by out in production.

• Forms 11g, WebLogic and NodeManager

  I'm relatively new to form 11g. I am doing an installation in development mode, and all works well.

  In my setup, I have to run little web - app (servlet). With iDS10g, I use Tomcat for this. Now, I try to use WebLogic. If in the WebLogic Console, I create a new 'server', listening on port 8080.

  First question, so I want to run this server, I start Node Manager (I've never used before...). Why?

  I deploy my war files and works very well.

  Now I restart WebLogic and my new 'server' stay stopped. I must launch NodeManager to run it...

  Is second question, possible that my "Server" runs automatically at startup of WebLogic? And if possible, without having to run NodeManager?

  I guess here that you have created a new server managed your installation of development? Technically speaking there is not much difference between the AdminServer and the managed server; for a development environment, I would save me the hassle of 2 developing weblogic servers so I don't know what you're trying to achieve? (to be honest I really don't get the point of having 2 managed servers for execution of the Servlets 3 in production either, but that's another story)

  You can deploy your war on the AdminServer files as well - in forms 11.1.2 Oracle who done with servlets forms and reports both in development mode so there is nothing wrong with that. Instead to access your Application via Port 8080, you simply access it via port 7001 (or whatever port you used for AdminServer). No need to NodeManager – just start the AdminServer.

  If you really want to use a server managed, with that you could start it upward the script startManagedWeblogic.cmd in the same directory that the startWeblogic.cmd is located (just pass the name of the managed server). But still - I don't see why it is not necessary to use a server here.

  In production, you can choose to deploy your war AdminServer, WLS_FORMS or WLS_REPORTS file. If you configure OHS respectively it shouldn't matter much.

  What do you mean by "port number"? HTTP port (usually 8080), or listening port (normally 1521)?

  To change the name of the service, you can use (as a DBA or SYSDBA)

  SQL > alter system set service_name = '';

  I failed to install forms 11G again, but I was wondering if the same colors of oracle were still available

• Screen printing and report print forms 11g

  I've created a popup menu in forms 11g who created a print screen label.
  When the user clicks on it, it is supposed to bring to the top of the list of printers that the user has on his PC, so that they can choose the printer where they want to print to.
  
  I have to use webutil for this? or is there another way?

• Adding a new font in Web Forms 11G on UNIX

  Hello. In a piece of text in my form (forms 11g on UNIX), I need to refer to a barcode font named 39251.TTF.  On the property sheet for the item I entered 39251 font name in the font name property.  It is a font file we downloaded to UNIX in the following location /apps/oracle/product/middleware/dev_inst/reports/fonts/39251.TTF.  However when you run the web form, the police does not appear as barcode fonts. Instead, it just displays the numerical values of the issue.

  When you use fonts are not available by default on Forms 11 G (UNIX), is there something we can do from a point of view of configuration to make the fonts available for the forms to be used?

  In an Oracle Forms application, essentially for every font in your application must be a mapping for the police on the application server to a compatible Java police. If there is no mapping, Java uses a mapping 'default' - usually a constant spacing police.

  For example: If you use a non-standard TT developing - assuming that your development platform is Windows - if you want that this font used when the application is running, you will need to find a compatible font for the OS of your App Server (AS). If your ACE is Windows, simply install the font, and change the file registry.dat if the AS and Java know how to map the police during execution. If you as is UNIX or another OS, you will have to find (and likely purchase) a suitable font for this OS special until you can map the police in the registry.dat.

  You will need to do some trial and error testing to ensure that the mapping of fonts work and look the way you expect in the runtime.

  Forms and require all two JDev/ADF FMW, or maybe I can be more specific and say that you need a license of FMW. Oracle Forms is accredited to work on Oracle FMW and you pay a license for it. For the ADF, you can deploy on a server of Oracle applications no, but you must still license FMW - but it is possible that the actual cost is less than the license of forms (but depends on).

  Here is my point of view - if you have loads of skills of forms and are already building Forms applications then it would be wise to consider forms. However, you might (and certainly consider) a long-term JDev/ADF. It could be a stand-alone well-defined project could be the perfect testbed for redevelopment of the ADF. The other point to consider is that this demand will be doing, how it will be used, and how it will be architected. If you are looking for expanded internet "self-service" applications and forms, then maybe isn't just for that. If you want to use BPM or Web Center then maybe JDev is better suited.

  Just think if you were doing some DIY, you start by saying "I'll use a hammer, okay, now what's the problem"... .or you would say "what problem am I trying to solve and what tool works best. After all, if you choose a hammer and what you want to do is paint a room then its going to be very difficult for you! (o).

• Impossible to get the icons to display in the form 11g

  We have recently updated to form 11g and I am unable to get our forms to display custom icons. I tried a variety of techniques of research on the web, but none of them have worked. Can someone give me some ideas here?

  My repertoire of forms is:

  I use E10240-01 as my guide. Section 4.7 deployment fonts, icons and Images used by Forms Services, it shows using EM to map icon and fonts. I still have to test.

  My problem, progress of configuration does take long time for the "AdminServer restart" task and I expect a lot of hours

  I think that Windows 7 is supported as a developer box. This means that you can install EM and other components of the system.
  Simply select forms & reports execution time and builder and your configuration must go through the fine.

  After installing Weblogic Server (WLS), blew the WLS configuration? If you have run the configuration, it is probably the reason for the failure of 11g Oracle Fusion Middleware (OFM) configuration. According to Oracle install instructions for OFM 11 g, you ignore the configuration of WLS, as 11 configuration process g of BCI will perform all the necessary configuration for WLS and BCI. (Take a look at the document My Oracle Support: how to install Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.1 / 11.1.1.2 reports only [854117.1 ID] for detailed installation instructions and forms).

  There are a lot of newspapers in the environment.  You must be more precise.

  With a typical configuration, an incoming request forms will hit OSH then the forms Servlet (which in WLS_FORMS) then hit the Forms Runtime (frmweb) then if go to the db it will hit the DB client layer.  Here are a few of the many places for the main components in the path that I have just described:

  I have problems to display the icons on the toolbar.

  The toolbar is inherited from a group of objects in a model module.

  I tried to recreate a new module and inherit from the toolbar

  When I try to inherit directly from the Group of objects, the button are created in the radio button group and not the command button.

  When I try to inherit from the canvas and the block of the module Template, command button are created, but the dimension are wrong.

  I've not met, but your description makes me think that you did not convert your dependent objects.  Have you done all your dependent objects (Object Library, Template.fmb, etc.) have been converted to form 11g first?

  Here's what happens:

  1. your forms application requests that a report (rdf, rep, etc.) is executed. (Running is not identical to present)

  2. once the report is run and the data has been retrieved, the output is stored on the file system of the server in the format that you define (html, pdf, etc.)

  3. your Forms application can now retrieve the complete report when desired using the JobID reports.  WEB. SHOW_DOCUMENT is most often used, but other extraction methods are possible.

  As to why you coded a timer in the code, I can't speak for it, but you don't need.  Yet once again, refer to the doc above and it will explain how to launch and retrieve a report.
