  Last week I published a PDF file in Acrobat and added to fill fields... everything worked very well.

  This week, I'm doing the same thing.

  -J' open the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat (CC)

  * Now at this stage, everything worked fine. But now... I add the text field and I can't change it at all. I can't resize the text box, select it, nothing.   First of all, thanks for the video, it's so much easier to understand what is happening when I see how things do not work.

  From what I see, I guess that it is something that is specific to this particular document. Have you tried to add form fields to a whole new document? You can do by ensuring that no other document is open in Acrobat, then Cmd-Shift-T to create a new document with a blank page in it. Now select Tools > prepared form - because this is a new document that was never recorded, Acrobat invites you to save it. Once registered, try to add a form field. It work? The form field is the way that you expect it to behave?

  If this isn't the case, then it is very likely that there is something wrong with the installation of Acrobat. The first thing I would try is to select help > check updates, make sure that you are running the latest version of Acrobat DC. If this does not help, I uninstall Acrobat and install again a new download. You can download Acrobat here: download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC, XI or X

  If the problem is specific to your document, we will know why this is. It is possible that the document is corrupt. There are several ways you can try to recover from some alterations: the first thing I would try is to do a "save under" to save a new file name. Does it work or you get an error message? If you can save as a new file, the new file shows the same problems? If so, then try to extract just one page in a new document. To do this, open the thumbnail on the left, then select the page, right-click and select Extract page. This sill to create a new document with just one page in there, save it and try again.

  If you are still not able to add form fields that behave properly, it gets a bit more complex. How was the file created? Application used to create the original file and what application was used to save the file as a PDF file? Would you be able to share this file?

  You may receive some URLS like http://%%20 http://127.0.0.1: 3420/em4SKvX0ujrXlKGnlKioqHajE3R83W73lrBXZryheBtlkmyY by pressing CTRL + R.

  Simply remove the http://%%20 (from the beginning) of the above URL and your form starts to run in the browser.

• After Firefox 12, some form in our help desk application fields do not display correctly. They appear as fields of horizontal scroll instead.

  We use a system of assistance to work (remedy of the BMC IT Service Management). In version 12 Firefox, all fields are displayed correctly in the form. However, if I switch to a version higher than 12, some fields appear as fields of horizontal scrolling (without displaying the data in them). Therefore, I am forced to stay on version 12 for the work.

• Reset form bug - please help!

  I created a form with fields to fill in, check boxes and a button to reset the form that is used on an iPad.  It seems that the reset form button has stopped working constantly on the iPad since the update (reset some fields, but not the others).  Has anyone else reported this bug?

  Hi Laurie,

  I have determined that the cause of the problem.  The version of your PDF form March 2016 missing field entries.

  Here's a bit of technical documentation.

  There are two places in the format of PDF fields are saved.

  1. Catalog > AcroForm > fields
  2. Page > Annots

  The fields you mentioned in your response #4 (e.g. dealer name W9 W9 address, city of W9, W9, W9 Zip and State SSN1, 2 and 3) were not correctly written to location (1) in the version of March 2016 of the PDF form.  I checked with our internal tool to inspect the PDF form.

  I suspect that the problem was introduced in the PDF form, when you deleted a page, insert a new page, matched the fields, etc. using the desktop version of Acrobat Standard.

  Acrobat Reader apps for iOS and Android are looking at location (1) to identify all the existing fields in a PDF form.  If some fields do not appear in location (1), they are not recognized as such.  This is the reason why certain fields in your form are not reset.

  However, Acrobat/Reader desktop apps have the capacity expanded to find all existing fields of individual pages, (2) location in a PDF form, although some fields do not appear in location (1).

  To repair your PDF form, you must remove the 'missing' fields (who are not reset correctly) of individual pages and add new tool forms Acrobat Pro / standard.

  I'm sorry that it's rather a long and tedious process to repair the PDF form.  Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any PDF available in the trade of tools that can repair a faulty PDF form with a click of an edit button.

  I recommend you try to attach a small set of fields first.  You can look at the version of March 2016 of PDF form for reference.

  1. Select a page that contains fields that are not reset correctly.  Example: Page 5 (W9 form)
  2. Remove the fields that are not reset correctly.
  3. Add new fields with the same field properties and Associates, JavaScript, etc.
  4. Save the PDF form.
  5. Fill in the fields.
  6. Click the CLEAR FORM button to test if they are reset correctly.
  7. Repeat the steps above for other pages with the problem.

  A custom script can be written to do...

  For example, this code can be used as the script of custom Format to achieve this goal:

  If (event.value.length == 3) event.value = event.value.substring (0.1) + ":" + event.value.substring (1);

  In addition, you can use this code in your custom script from typo to allow only numbers:

  Event.RC = / ^ \d*$/.test(event.change);

  Then, simply set the field as having 3 characters maximum and you are pretty much done.
