From Windows 7 Starter 7 Premium

I recently bought ab ACER Netbook comes with Windows 7 Starter, I tried to upgrade to Premium 7, but each time I get to the extraction of the part it never completes the transaction. No idea why?

You can do an Express upgrade - it's a quick and easy process. All programs and files will remain on the computer, there is no drive necessary and it takes about 10 minutes.

    Express Upgrade purchase

Type of upgrade Express in the box files and research programs in the start menu and click the Windows Anytime Upgrade.  From there, you can buy an upgrade from Starter to a higher version of Windows 7. Then you can enter your Express Upgrade product key and perform a simple upgrade. Online Anytime Upgrade is not available in all countries.

  • Upgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Ultimate

If I upgrade Windows 7 Starter to Ultimate a CD/USB/HDD, is it possible to save all the programs/applications so that I do not need to re - install again?

You will not be able to do.

You must use the product key and to make an Express upgrade.

If the license for Windows 7 Ultimate, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Ultimate. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate files the stored settings and programs.

  • The upgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Professional on a Netbook

I recently bought a Dell Mini 1012 and I think to upgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Professional. I have the code key for Windows 7 Professional from MSDNAA or something like that. My question is, if I upgrade Windows 7 Starter to professional, I should install the new drivers for the netbook or those already installed for Starter would work with professional? I would use Windows Anytime Upgrade.

Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Starter share the same driver model because its the same code base, so you shouldn't have to get new drivers.

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version upgrading or complete (MSDNAA License are), you can use the product key and the Express upgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Professional. Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, follow the on-screen Wizard, enter the key to Windows 7 Professional on demand, click on, and then restart your computer when you are prompted. Less than 10 minutes, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional and your files and settings retained.

  • How downgrade from Windows 7 Starter to assessment Preview of Windows 8 consumer

I have a HP Mini, #ABA WH860UA provided with Windows 7 Starter. I installed Windows 8 consumer Preview copy evaluation about 8 months ago and tried to get it back to Win 7 since. Now, I get messages my liscense expires in a few days. Is there a link somewhere that will let me download Windows 7 Starter, if I have my product key?

Everything THAT wants me to 'upgrade' to Win 8 Pro. Thank you, but no. My Mini cannot hold. I want to just 7 starter return.

    Help?

BTW... I'm the 'poor' poor rich man... My mini will be a paper weight large format, if I can't find a link to download from.

You'd be better off using a disk win 7 of someone you know and make a copy for future use.

I hope that you realize that a download of this size is more than 3 GB in size.

Its more easy and faster to borrow an and use your key.

  • Can I downgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows XP Professional

QUESTIONS: 1) can I demote a machine Win7 Starter purchased through package of retail full license, never installed, XP Pro OS?  Assume that both are 32-bit.  I was thinking of buying one of these netbooks cheap in Walmart stores that are Windows 7 upgrade option to Windows 8 (which I do not wish to use), and experiment.  If Win7 is proving to be as disastrous as I wait, I want to install a new copy of the new detail of full XP Pro including Service Pack 3 (which has never been installed on any computer), to downgrade from Windows 7. I've never used in triplicate.
The machine is Acer Aspire One with Windows 7 Starter edition, on sale at Walmart for only $228.  They have other editions of Windows, I could buy instead, if the Starter Edition is not eligible for a downgrade.
    2) do you anticipate problems of license?  Do not talk about compatibility, as that varies depending on the machine.  It's just that the installation with MS products is always also annoying complicated and always associated with a licensing problem.  I can't guess at what these problems are, they are never what I expect.  Where the question.
Backstory: I am wary of XP Professional updating to Windows 7, due to the many people experience incompatibilities.  I ran the Win7 Upgrade Advisor, and he has not yet detected what third-party software was running on my machine in his analysis, other than common programs of MS and stuff from the internet.  So I have ZERO faith it will be compatible with my XP software current and material, so 32-bit (which I use now), or 64-bit (which one of my machines can take in charge, but instead, 32-bit XP Prof OS is installed and running).
It cost me about $100K of my time to switch to XP, in 2005; I just went through two own XP installed on two of my other machines.  Recovery was not possible.  Cost me three months of my life, these facilities.  Wouldn't do it again.  It is unnecessarily complex.
So I have to check the effectiveness of Win7.  And if she is not enough justify using, as I hope - I have a lot of detail that new (well, once again) never used XP Professional OS bought in a store, that I can use to downgrade.  ("not OEM, not upgrade or academic, etc. so the full XP license is valid for each packet.)  I understand very well that support ends in April 2014 and don't care if it stops.  What I care about is running my business that threatens to Win7, because it changes the interface and eliminates a bunch of features that have been very productive in XP Pro.
Of course, my impressions have not been tested on a live installation.  ERGO this post.  For me, it's a $100,000 decision, because it is the cost of my time if I deploy Win7.  Sorry for ranting, but I need to explain the reasons for downgrading in context.  Thank you for your time!

I guess I do not understand you. If you have a version of Xp retail packaging, you can install it on any computer you want. Nothing MS or anyone else can say about it.

As others have noted you might encounter a driver for some of your hardware problem is not not compatible wth Xp. The only way to know for sure, or I should say the best way, is to install Xp and discover.

If it was me I would make sure that the computer has a restore disk or a partition to reinstall Win 7 if Xp didn't work. If none of those who were present I would clone the drive hard while Win 7 was still about this. Better safe than sorry.

Finally, I would make sure that I got a usb Ethernet card so that you could make sure you have the ability to connect when the net card driver was not installed with Xp...

  • Product key not working only not for the upgrade from Windows 7 starter to win 10

I have two Asus EEEPCs came with Windows 7 Starter.  The product key is on the bottom of the devices.  And they are completely legible.   4 years ago by ish and over the years the installations of Windows crashed, one of them, I installed Linux, the other, I played a bit with the installation of Android.  Today, I have upgraded to Windows 10 for each of them, wipe the disk and did a full install from USB.  One of them was perfectly, the second installation won't take the period key, the product license.  I even tried to change the characters only TWO that could be incorrect due to friction vs O Q and still nothing.   is there a way to send an image of the product key to Microsoft and someone to tell me what the heck is wrong with it?

  • NB550D - upgrade from Windows 7 Starter to professional

    Dear all,

I recently bought a Toshiba NB550D and must update the pre-installed Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Pro. I tried the (preinstalled) Anytime Upgrade Assistant level, but this does not work. I'm stuck in the wizard because - as he says - "you may need to change the language settings or locale to purchase Windows Anytime Upgrade online". I learned that in order to use anytime upgrade regional settings must be identical to those of the country where your billing address. For me, this country is Switzerland, everything must be in German.

The problem is, the installation of Windows 7 Starter still uses English as 'Display language' and this cannot be changed after installation. I tried to roll back the installation but there is no other possible choice, it is always English. All other regional and language settings can be changed.

    My questions:
-Are there a way to force the display of Windows 7 Starter language to German (whether before or after the initial installation)?
-Are there a way to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro, work around the problem, for example by using a different approach of the wizard at any time to upgrade?
D ' other suggestions that might help?

    Thank you
    GG

    Hey Buddy,

It depends of the pre-installed Windows 7 Starter. If Windows 7 Starter has been pre-installed in the English language only an upgrade to an English version of Windows 7 Professional is possible. So that you can t upgrading English to German for example, this is why you have to buy a new version of Windows 7.

So either you buy a new version of Windows 7 Professional in German, or you upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. The Ultimate version offers MUI (Multilingual User Interface).

  • The upgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Professional

Well, I still found a definatative answer to my question. Here's my situation. I have a netbook with Windows 7 Starter. I HAVE a retail upgrade Windows 7 Professional DVD with product key. My question is simply this. If I use Windows Anytime Upgrade can I use my product key for my upgrade retail box when it asks for the product key?  Because windows does not have a product until the key after installation I don't want to go all the way at the end of installation to find out that the product key is not going to work. Any help would be greatly appeciated.  Thank you

  • Error 0x80072efd upgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 10

I downloaded the upgrade of 10 the Windows Wizard on a Windows 7 Starter device. When I open the wizard and start the real Windows 10 download, I get a message 'something was wrong' with error 0x80072efd, saying I should check the network settings and try again. Although I am currently connected to a network of WiFi signal. I tried several times, even uninstall the upgrade wizard and reinstall again - but the same error occurs. How can I fix this error?

    Nathan

0x80072efd ERROR_INTERNET_CANNOT_CONNECT The connection to the server failed.

For large downloads, wired ethernet is faster and offers a more stable than wireless connection. An ethernet cable is a low-cost purchase.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Samsung: Press the F4 key to the Samsung logo when you turn first.

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
